He made his way cautiously across the tiles. Another clicked and sank slightly under his foot, and despite himself, he froze. Nothing happened. Either the trap had broken or this not-a-trap trap was the product of a particularly sadistic mind.
Roll 2/5 HP: 20/50
1 - The tile you step on gives way under your feet... and nothing happens.

The next tile that sank under his foot didn't seem to produce an immediate effect - until the stone hit him hard on the head. He reeled, clutching his head, and tried to rein in the panicked sense that he'd forgotten something.
Roll 3/5 HP: 20/50
4 - CLANG! Something hard and heavy falls from the ceiling. You forget something.

Several more innocuous tiles, and then another one clicked under his foot. A large arrow thunked into his shoulder, and he examined it with his teeth clenched. It wasn't barbed, and he eased it out and tossed it aside. He could hear the sounds of the companions making their way gingerly across the room behind him, and he spared a moment to hope that they didn't get too badly hurt.
Roll 4/5 HP: 17/50
6 - You activate a trap. Take 3 damage.

Jordan was almost there, close to the archway at the other end of the room, when another tile sank under his foot. He threw himself forward onto the stone step that led to the archway, then froze again, startled, as he realized that the lingering aches and pains he'd sustained from the hallway and room were gone. He felt remarkably good, and when he checked himself over, he found that he was uninjured. He wasn't sure how that had happened, but he wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
He waited for his companions to join him before stepping through the archway.
Roll 5/5 HP: 50/50
8 - As you step onto the tile, you are filled with a feeling of... elation...? Recover all HP.

The room was lined with goblets of all kinds, fancy and simple, tall and short and wide and narrow, and they stopped to stare around, startled at the variety. The cup they hunted for was somewhere here, but which was it?
"YOU SHALL NOT PASS." The guardian that strode into the room barred their way with a javelin, and Jordan reached for his whip; he was stopped by the tallest of the companions. The shadowed figure shook his head silently, pushing Jordan back out of the way, and stepped up to challenge the guardian.
When it was over, the guardian and the companion both lay fallen on the floor, and Jordan folded the companion's hands over his chest respectfully. He'd been a good companion and a brave fighter.

They were here for the blessing of the Grail, and Jordan studied the cups, frowning with dismay. Which was the right one? He chose, at last, a cup with a subtle crown design worked into the carvings on its side, and hesitated only an instant before he drank.
The liquid slid down his throat, cool and refreshing, and somehow ... sparkly?
((5 ...you have chosen fantastically. The liquid fizzles and pops as you drink it, filling you with something you've never had. You feel different. Your character now believes they are a magic girl/boy, an ordinary human who can turn into an extraordinary magical alter-ego that can't be recognized. All memories gained to this point and acquired later are now tweaked to support this theory. ))
