Mathias waited, looking up at Ren in wait of the grand plan. If he'd had any clue what was going on, he might have tried to take the lead, but as it was all he really knew was that he'd been nothing more then a shadow once, but now he had a form, a name, and a few other names in his head of people he thought he knew, as long as these memories that he had wasn't a lie.

It didn't really occur to him that Ren, Sparrow, and Ian were likely feeling the same way.

Ears swiveling in the direction that Ren pointed, he turned and followed along behind the others, crouching down and hopping on over towards the fountain, finding that his big, flat feet were quite good for this sort of thing. He wondered if the wings at his back were any good, if they actually worked, but opted to not risk giving them a try.

Approaching the fountain a bit warily, he waited for at least one of the others to take a sip before having a drink himself, splashing some of the water on his face and rubbing it, feeling almost instantly refreshed and better about things on the whole.

He was energized and ready to go!

"Vait, are you sure it is sa---" He started to say when Ian took off down the hall, then cringed at the sounds, at the sight of him being accosted by many weapons. Nope, not safe at all! His ears flattened down on his head and he found himself flinching more and more as each boy took off, then sighed and straightened as it seemed it was now his turn.

"Ach du liebe Güte...." He muttered to himself before scurrying off down the hallway.

At first things seemed okay. He managed to dodge the giant swinging axe, at the very least, though when he was forced to manuever around a bunch of arrows, a couple of them found their mark. After that, it was just a matter of avoiding getting impaled by a few spikes and he was good to go!

"That vas...that vas..not so bad I guess..." He panted once he got to the other end and reached his companions, giving one last baleful glare behind him to the hallway he had just come leaping out of for dear life.

Ren had reached out to gently grasp Mathias' arm. "You okay?" he asked, giving the other boy a reassuring smile. "I know things look pretty bleak right now, but I'm sure we'll be able to get through this okay - "

His words, however, were cut off, by the sound of approaching footsteps - and then -

"Ah," said Ren.

"Oh my," said Sparrow.

Ian just let out a low whistle, which Augustus, staring up at the figure in front of them, gave a nod in agreement.

"Welp," Ren said. "Guess we better, uh...welp."

"Well, er," said Sparrow, as he readied his daggers. "This is, er...well..."

He wasn't entirely certain what to make of their new visitor, especially considering that he did not feel very good at all, thanks to the arrows from the previous room. Still, he moved forward anyway, ready to attack.

"I see a great deal of misfortune in our paths," said Ian cheerfully, like they weren't all about to die a horrible death from a guardian.

Mathias got back to his own feet quickly enough, and scampered back forward to whack at the hulking knight with his sword once again.

Too bad he only barely skimmed it with his blade. Woops.

And backwards he was flung once more.

This was not exactly how he had planned the afternoon, but it was not as if he had anything better to do. Still, Ian wasn't quite fond of being attacked by things larger than he was.

Matty got back to his feet, ran forward, and kindof hit it a little harder then he had before? It was quite hard for him to tell, when he was knocked back for a third time, hitting the floor with a hard thud.

"Owwwwwwww...." He moaned from where he had been tossed. This was beginning to feel a bit hopeless.
