Isidore had to smile a little at his sister's words, in the tomb when he had told her about mortal beliefs she had said they were silly, yet here she was saying that she wanted the bird to feel loved, even though she knew as well as he did that it was a shell empty without the soul within it.
He looked up as he heard the cry and nodded. "Yeah, it sounds like another bird." He said softly, "Do you think she might have had a family?"

Kyrie looked down at the female bird in her hands and nodded. "It is very possible. It sounds like a baby calling for its momma," she said softly. Looking to her brother, she swallowed a little. "Maybe we should bury her first and lay her body to rest and then we can look and see if there is a baby," she suggested and looked to her brother for guidance.

"Okay." Isidore crouched and picked the mangled bird up very carefully, he carried her to a spot just under a tree and laid her down just as gently. "I think this is a nice spot." He said as he started to dig with his hands, he wanted to get it quite deep. Once he was done he took the bird and laid her in the hole, arranging her as best he could to look peaceful. He then started to put the earth back on top. "May her soul soar over the rivers and fields of the underworld to a new life." He said as he patted the earth down. "we should find some stones to put on top."

Kyrie walked with her brother to the spot he chose. Kneeling down, she helped him dig and then she watched him place the bird's body into the ground. Looking up at his words, she felt happy and warm. She hoped that the bird would be able to do just that. "Okay. And some flowers," she agreed softly with a nod. "Thank you Isi."

Isidore smiled and stood. "It's okay Kyr, why don't you go and find out what's making that noise? I'll find the stones and flowers to go on the grave."

Kyrie nodded at his suggestion and she rose to her feet. Kyrie wandered back to where she had found the bird and then looked back up into the trees. It took her a moment, but eventually she spotted the tangled mess that indicated a nest. Several moments later, she was up in the tree and scooting along the branch to where the nest was. There was, indeed, a little baby bird alone in the nest and its small wing was resting at an odd angle. With a bit of coaxing, she managed to get the little one into her palm and then began the arduous task of climbing down without falling or dropping her precious cargo. Once her feet were on solid ground, she sank down to sit cross legged as she gently petted the small creature's downy head. "It is a baby Is, and she's hurt. Her momma must have been protecting her," she said softly.

Isidore finished off the grave as his sister went in search of the baby bird, she returned with it in her arms and Isi looked down at it and smiled, it looked mostly okay apart from its wing. "We should take it back, I bet Anima would be able to fix it, she helped fix Scim."

Kyrie looked up at Isi's suggestion and nodded. She certainly could not just leave her without anyone left to protect her. "Okay. I'll find a safe place for her and I'll help you finish up around here, then we can take her home," she smiled.
