The Drow was still in a somewhat state of drifting, coming to terms with what he was doing and where he was. Not just at the ball, but about to enter the games. Currently, he was dressed up with the other men and women he'd be seeing there. These people were among the guests of this masquerade. In what would be no time, the masks would be off. The fine clothes would be gone. There would be armor and weapons. Inevitably, they were all entering games with winning in mind, weren't they? The next time he'd see these people, they wold either be at side in his team or against him. Doan wasn't the kind to get anxious, however. If he was going to make use of his time, it might as well get started at the ball.
He skulked about the outer edges of the biggest room, where he assumed the most participants would be. How would he know which room was which? Doan had never been even close to a ball room before. Let alone be as finely dressed as he was for the time. He didn't know who he'd have on his crew among these masked beings. Since he had arrived he was sizing many of them up and down. It was difficult to tell many of their races without getting very close. He felt that his own was painfully obvious, dark blue skin with purple hues and long pointed ears. What a mystery, correct? If he hadn't found himself a nice little place to stay out of the way and watch, he would say he stuck out like a sore thumb.
Doan really had no intent on making conversation. He would rather get to see his team when it was on their terms. In the game, if he could.

A r i a n n a x P e n i e r i u m The Shadow Demon Team Three Arianna wasn't used to wearing such an extravagant dress. This wasn't something that she normally wears, and she misses her simple clothing that she wears all the time. Though the dress didn't come with a hood, she made a hood to go with her dress, with some silver on it. There was a reason she didn't let all of her face show, and she wasn't going to let this ball the reason why anyone saw her face. The hood was more of a silk scarf that hung around her shoulders after it had been wrapped in a certain way to look like a hood. It looked good.
Most people would walk through the door to enter the ballroom, but not Arianna. Striding over to the darkest corner of her room, Arianna's body blackened and disintegrated into the shadows. She could see the ballroom and the people in it. There was a man in red, with the eyes of a sorcerer. That much was plainly obvious. A smirk played on her face as she manifested in the chair next to him since he was sitting in the darkest corner of the room. "Well look at you. Hiding in the shadows. You know this is my place of comfort. So why is that you are sitting here by yourself. Watching everyone? Gathering your info?" Arianna looked over at the man, he was attractive, don't get her wrong, but he wasn't her type. His eyes were piercing, it was almost unsettling for her, but not quite. She doesn't stir that easily. ""You know, for being a shadow manipulator you should really choose who you talk to more wisely. Especially when you don't know your competition." She couldn't help but to smirk at his comment in retort to her own. The shadows engulfed her once more as she decided to leave the sorcerer in red, "Oh my dear sorcerer, I know more about my competition than you may think. There are perks to having the shadows on my side."
After disappearing in the shadows once more, she appeared on the other side of the room, to a table secluded in the middle of all the dining tables.

Giving a quick glance to her simple yet elegant black dress she mentally approved, the straps hung slightly off both shoulders and then went down her form to stop a little above the knees but lengthen towards the back. With that she moved with silence in her black heels into the loud murmur of the ball room. Moving around the edge of the room she scanned the patrons dancing and socializing easily picked out her targets from last night even with the masks. The spoils she had gotten where well worth the trouble and lack of sleep, though her face didn’t show that she was tired because she was so used to late nights now.
Coming back to the current she noticed she had wandered all the way around to a table that sat in a rather dim corner, it didn’t look too bad of a place to perhaps watch over the whole room but there was a male sitting there already. The thought of avoiding the encounter crossed her mind several times as she started towards the table but wasn’t this whole ball thing for forced interactions between players, worst come to worst she could just do what she did best. Blend and escape. Walking up and sitting on the edge of the table crossing her legs she smiled “Do you prefer the shadows or are you just avoiding talking to other people?” she asked brashly as she waved over a server and took a small glass of heavy liquor from him. Swishing the glass a little she took a drink from it then said “I’m Bryn from the Ithus team, perhaps you could tell me your name…” ◀▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▰▱▶ And when they do a thief has already taken it… ▶

xxxxxxx T h e x S o r c e r e r As he looked around the ballroom, he remembered several people. The women who had just used her disappearing act was talking to her second in command. There seemed to be an electric spark that hit him out of no where, and Niklaus darted his eyes to the man in blue... the other sorcerer that wasn't on his team. No expression was able to be seen on his face as he watched him walk through the crowds, and people moving out of his way. It was almost cocky... and arrogant. The man with white hair and the girl in teal were sitting at a table talking to one another, possibly on the same team.
He noticed a woman with red-ish/pink hair wearing a simple yet elegant black dress. There was something about her, like she had a shyness about her. Sure enough she had approached him. Which was something that he wasn't expecting on her doing. Niklaus thought with putting himself in the corner that it would put him out of the way of talking to anyone but his teammates. There was one thing that he had to admit, she had balls coming up to him and talking to him. A smirk spilled across his face as she questioned him and sat on the table. Before he answered the woman before him, he gestured over a waiter. "Fireball on the rocks please." The waiter bowed and scurried off to get Niklaus' drink. The attention now turned to Bryn. "Well Bryn, I tend to like the shadows, but I also like to avoid talking other people that I don't think I need to talk to." Just in time the waiter arrived with his drink. Niklaus swirled the drink and took a sip, after which he nodded thank you to the waiter. The burning of alcohol and cinnamon scorched down his throat. "My name is Niklaus. Niklaus Salvator."
"Lovely dress. However, what's the point of wearing such a lovely dress... if you can't show it off?" He figured he might as well make nice while he was at this ball. Bryn seemed like a cunning woman that knew how to handle herself. He finished his drink and got up, then stood before her. "May I have this dance? The music was soft, and comforting, it actually reminded him of his home. A pain staked through his heart, but he ignored it and extended his hand to Bryn, a smile on his face of amusement.

⚜Hziulquoigmnzhah⚜ ██████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████████ If people fear the unknown...
Time, time, nothing but time. Time was something this elder had in abundance, at least normally. Less so now, it had no idea why the mortals where so obsessive over these games, why things were so hectic. It supposed it didn't matter much. Two spellweavers of some ilk stood next to a barely visible rift in space, you could only see it out of the corner of your eye, otherwise it simply looked like heat ripples, distorting their surroundings slightly. If you did in fact take the time to look at it out of the corner of your eye though, take the time to examine it... Well, perhaps it would be better if you decided not to bother with such a dangerous thing, trust me, your sanity isn't worth it. At least, it didn't think your sanity is worth it, though for some people... It never understood mortals. As the guard entered, he nodded with utmost respect to the distortion of space, always wise when dealing with a creature you know almost nothing about. The man tilted his head and gestured to Kairyn, making sure to keep his gaze fixed firmly on the distortion. "Your form elder. I am sure you will find her adequate."
A feeling of intense scrutiny swept through the side room, you could feel the gaze on you, it was almost painful. A voice, indescribable, crackled through the minds of those in the room. "I see... adequate indeed, likely more so than you thought. Do tell me though... what is the purpose of this... finery... clothing. It is different from what I have seen other times, what reason is there for it." The vampire coughed slightly, obviously unaware of the extent of which the abomination lacked knowledge of mortal ways. "It is special clothing for a ball... a social gathering... A place for people to meet and entertain one another." The voice crackled out of the abyss again, one word, but it seemed to summarize all of the abomination's confusion. "Mortals."
Suddenly it felt as if everyone in the room was being squeezed, Kairyn would feel it most intensely. When it ended, the rippling distortion coalesced into a near perfect copy of Kairyn. With a few differences. For one, it's right eye was still that of it's natural form, orange sclera, with a distorted cross shaped pupil, though it flickered between that and Kairyn's eye, so it was clear with a bit of work that would not be an issue. Also, the countless strands of hair on it's head were alive, moving ever so slowly, so slowly in fact that you needed to look closer to realize they were moving on their own. Oh, and there was the fact the form was totally nude. The guard moved to get clothing similar to Kairyn's from a wardrobe, along with a mask that would help conceal it's eyes as the abomination tried to acclimate to the new body, and to talking with a tongue. It stretched, testing the new bodies ability to move. Then dressed when the guard brought it, now she, her clothes. She sighed and shook her head, taking forms fortunately brought with it some innate knowledge of how the form should function. "I just don't understand you mortals. Sometimes clothes are good, other times bad, sometimes you wear more, other times less, I just fail to understand you."
She looked to Kairyn, stumbling as she took a step forwards and falling to her knees. "Tch... annoying." She struggled to get back up, then questioned Kairyn. "I need to know more of the form I took. If you would, tell me your name, your race, and what skills you possess. I have heard it from your... rulers, monarchs, whatever they are. But it is more helpful coming from the source." The way she talked made it clear she expected answers, but it also had a strange friendliness to it, and an earnest curiosity.

"I suppose the dossier was too big for some people... it's no matter. May I ask your name?" He let out his hand in offering to her and hoped to make an quantence on an opposing team, who knows, she may come in handy. But really, he just wanted someone to fritter the time away with, it seemed like his own teammates were trickling in and he'd be forced to chat and meet at least once with them, if only to take down their names. ~- Kirisiaru 'Kiri' Hideran-~ - The white shade -
Team one: fighter
Like the harshly falling and piled snow, it's too bright... Like a transient fading sound, I'm not crying... I thought it was nothing, but the reality is very painful...
Kiri gave a nod in response to the first question, not really seeing a need to give a verbal response to it. Noticing the other seemed just a bit awkward, he brought up a hand and pushed his hair away from an ear, showing the pointed tip as a way of stating he was an elf. It was also a subtle way of asking after what the crimson male was, as Kiri wasn't quite sure. When his hand moved away, the hair fell back into place, obscuring the ear once more.
The second question required more of a verbal response, but he gave a slight shrug and spoke from behind the scarf, saying, "I was given names and the races of those on my team, but it's not much to work with. I also prefer to find these things out firsthand, make my own... impression of the person." The scarf did little to muffle his voice, which was rather smooth and cool to listen to, but suitably deep without being strange. There was an air of wisdom and experience in it as well, implying an age far beyond how he looked.
He tried smiling with his eyes again, wanting to put the other at ease without seeming strange about it. Kiri wasn't really one to dance, and asking another male he didn't really know was rather strange. Elves were rather open-minded about such things, long lives gave them that opportunity to explore and understand things others would write off as 'wrong' or 'strange'. And he was fine with simply conversing for now and found observing those in the ballroom just as interesting.
... The message I want to convey is 'I loved you' -no, 'I love you.' ... It's difficult, it's painful, I'm lonely, it hurts, I want to cry. ... Before saying 'thank you,' let me say 'I'm sorry'.

Kairyn didn’t like being scrutinized like an animal or a thing. Her eyes narrowed as she watched the vampire look her over along with the abomination. She didn’t risk looking at that. Her sanity was much too precious to let go for only a glance. His natural form defies every law of physics and matter known to this dimension so it would cause severe damage to the mind of someone like Kairyn.
The dracushan listened as the vampire answered its questions. His questions made him seem… a little less intelligent than she thought. He seemed naïve almost. If something like clothing was too foreign a concept for this thing to grasp then what good would he be on the team? She often questioned the monarchs and their decisions but not as much as this one. If their plan was to win then why did they send something that knew next to nothing of their world? Kairyn could think of a dozen warriors more fit that this abomination.
The next thing she knew, she felt like her entire body was being condensed. For a moment, it took the breath from her lungs. She knelt on the ground, fighting to regain her balance. When it ended, the form before her baffled her. It looked like reality itself was being distorted. When it all settled, it looked just like her, but without clothing. If she were more sensitive than she was, she would have blushed right away. Instead, her face formed into a glare. She wasn’t modest but she wouldn’t have herself displayed like this.
She was astounded as the being spoke. It sounded just like her, only a little more otherworldly. ”Of course you can’t go about naked. Creatures of this dimension are much too sexual for that. Especially males. If you ever display this body without clothing again, I will deal with you myself.” She warned. She wasn’t exactly sure how her skills compared to the abomination’s but she was still second in command. She wasn’t about to let herself be embarrassed by this thing.
She wasn’t sure what to think when she saw her copy fall to its knees. It was a strange feeling, watching oneself. She was almost inclined to act as though it was a reflection. She halfway expected to feel the impact herself. She would have to get used to having a copy of herself around.
”My abilities? I’m sure you’ve been told I’m a dracushan. The dracushan were all once draconian. Draconians are creatures of dragon blood. They each wield one element and can practice a bit of old dragon magic. Great darkness tempts each draconian. Some more so than others, and especially in times of need. As you know, I gave in. So now my element is darkness and my old element, fire, is a bit more malicious toward me than before. So word of advice: stay away from fire. You should be able to manipulate shadows into any form you want. Like this.” Kairyn concentrated some of the darkness in the room and molded it into a rope that wrapped itself around the vampire’s throat. She also made several daggers and pointed them all at the vile leech in a very threatening manner. The vampire eyed the daggers with great apprehension as he clutched at the darkness around his neck. The dracushan chuckled softly as the vampire looked to be regretting treating her poorly already.
"You should be able to do this. Oh, and it also burns when you want it to.” Kairyn made the darkness flare up into a black flame. The vampire screeched in pain. Kairyn released the darkness and turned from the vampire. His neck now sported a dark flame like burn. ”Like that.” She smirked. She was sure the vampire wouldn’t cross her again.
Once the vampire settled down, he had to tell Kairyn that he didn’t know how to fix hair. Kairyn gave her copy a once over and decided that she couldn’t go out with her hair so plain. ”Bring me the hair accessories you brought for her.” She commanded the vampire. He did as she told him, handing her a box. She opened it and found that there were hair accessories and even some makeup. First, Kairyn started with her hair. She finger combed through the silky strands and started parting them into different sections. She wove the strands into an intricate configuration and fastened it with a sparkling clip. Then, she moved on to her makeup. Kairyn removed the mask. Underneath, her face was completely bare. That also would not do. Kairyn set to work with foundation, powder, eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick – the whole nine yards. It took several minutes, but when she was done, she was quite impressed with her work. ”I’d hold up a mirror for you to see, but what do you care what you… I look like? Just don’t touch your hair or your face. Got it?”
She spun around the Kairyn copy and replaced the mask. ”There. You’re ready.”

Theodore HayesTeam One - ScoutLocation: Ballroom Status: Healthy Company: Kiri "It's just my humble opinion, but it's one that I believe in." When the man showed his ears, Theo responded by pulling of his jacket just enough so that the man could see the feathers of his wings. At an event like this, wings just got in the way. There were just far too many people and far too little room. It didn't bother him too much. Other than the slight discomfort of not being able to stretch them. He was used to it, however. To be honest, he didn't care much for the attention that they brought to him.
He nodded when the other man spoke, it seemed that he was in the same boat. Perhaps, that was all of the information that had been given to the competitors, but he couldn't help but feel like a few of the players knew more. None the less, it was far better to rely on first hand experience as the elf had said. "I am Theodore Hayes from team one," he said with a slight smile. "You're also with team one correct?" He had heard that there was an elf that had been chosen by the academy. Perhaps, this was the same man. He wouldn't know for certain until the man confirmed it."You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you." [Sorry my brain is mush right now.]

Sigmund leaned against the balcony, his hands crossed one on top of the other and his elbows were bent at a ninety degree angle. Behind him he had placed on of his feet firmly on the ground so that he could keep himself balanced and stable, while he tapped the other one on the back of his heel joyfully. The thing was he enjoyed watching others and seeing there many reactions some were surprised, others seemed to feel threaten, and some just seemed plan confused. But what he really enjoyed was the many people who seemed to be joyfully dancing to the beat of the music on the dance floor, these people who seemed to not care of what was soon to be unfolding. Most of them were probably not going to be in the games, but he knew that a few of them were going to be participating in the games. He wondered what could these people be thinking and feeling to be freely doing as they pleased on the dance floor, could they be thinking that they were safe here in this crowded ballroom hoping that no one would suddenly murder them or were they just having their last moments of fun before the living hell called “the games began”. He said out loud to himself with a devilish smirk on his face ” these people do not understand the dangers that await us in the games and the dangers that already reside with us in this room”. He chuckled a bit, like that of a madman would, as he stood up from his previous position.
Then his smirk turned to a gigantic smile as a splendid idea suddenly began to form in his head. He thought as he starred across the balcony at the people on the other side ”I know how about I do an experiment. There’s nothing I wouldn’t love more than to find out the thoughts of someone dancing.” Then he noticed the only problem was he didn’t have a dance partner. He went back to his previous position against the balcony as he pouted a bit. ”Man I always seem to lack the needed resources when it comes to my experiments.” He then noticed something strange happen, a being of some sort suddenly disappeared from one spot too another, how though he did not know, but from his many experiments he had a good guess. But he had this sudden urge to find out the answer. So he turned around quickly and began to stride his way down the stairs and toward the lady who seemed so intriguing.
He made his way to the ballroom tables and began to search the room for the lady he had suddenly been to curious to find out about. His search did not come up unsuccessful and he found the women. She was seated at a table to the side of the room, but not all the way to the side. The table was a bit away from the wall and was surrounded by many other tables. The lady was facing away from him so she wouldn’t have seen him coming as he made his way through the maze of tables and sat down next to her pulling the chair out and siting down next to her with a big smile on his face. He looked into her eyes and said very slyly with a little bit of exuberance. ” Hello my dear lady, you are looking quite outstanding in that attire you have there? Did you make the hood yourself?” Even though he was itching to ask all about her and what she was, he knew he had to be friendly before doing so or else the test subject would otherwise leave or be very uncooperative. ” Please do not worry by the way I am only here to participate in a friendly discussion. You can probably tell I am nothing, but a mere human”

--| Artemis_______ _ _ _ _________"Oh my dear, who wouldn't want the champion of the Malandi fighting at their side?" He boasted semi-sarcastically to the young woman, Artemis was always willing to brag but even with his relative fame in his homeland, he could see easily he wasn't the only strong participant in the ballroom. "I come from a long line of fighters, my clan is one of the strongest in Malandaia. I, myself, being at the forefront of that long list of great warriors." He took a few bites of food, the succulent pig and beef dishes going down smooth along with the elegant wine put out before the rest of the dishes. It was turning out to be a delicious dinner, moderate company as well as interesting entertainment. The people seemed to almost all be out on the ballroom floor at this point, only a few, lone stragglers yet to arrive. "Healing is a noble pursuit, especially if you are adept at it. What about your fellow teammates? What do you think of them, or are you like me and await them to approach you?" His smile could charm the paint of walls and the skin off snakes, but at this point, he didn't feel this girl really needed much convincing to talk, seeing as they were both in the same ship of boredom. _________________________________________ _ _ _______

Nasrin looked around as she watched the people around her dance, and converse. A small frown played on her lips as she walked around in silence till she found her way to a table. It had a various amount of food, and a variety of different kinds. Surely, because there were so many different races in the room. In truth, she would have rather spent the time sharpening her weapons and practicing. She was more than ready for the game that was ahead of them, but this ball was frivolous. There was no reason for it except for the players to get to know and become friends with their enemies. Then again it would be a chance to learn her opponent’s flaws and weaknesses. Still, a ball where they had to get all dressed up in nice garments and act politely. She had managed to get her hands on a dress for event. It was a long, kimono that clung to her every curve. The dress had short sleeves and a small collar with a v-cut in the front and a slit from her right hip and down. She had been memorized by the color of it, a dark navy blue with a star design in grey. Nasrin wore her hair up in a bun that shoved the ends of her hair up toward the ceiling against her head. A small lily hairpin was shoved into the left side of her head, decorating it. The Valkyrie continued to look around, her eyes falling on to one of her team mates. Turning her eyes onto another person she began to notice people pairing up. Most seeming to be conversing with people on other teams. How would they act tomorrow when they had to fight against them? If anything this ball was going to make it easier for the people who didn’t get attached.
“Would you like something to drink miss,” A servant spoke, breaking her away from observing. She nodded and turned to look over at him before replying, “Wine.” With that she was on the move again, looking around as she made her way to the corner. There were tables set up for people to sit, eat, and drink. The center of the room had been cleared for people to dance if they so choose too. Of course, she was not going to cooperate in such an act. Nasrin grabbed the wine glass as the servant held it out to her. A smile played on her lips as she nodded her head. Watching him leave she turned and headed toward the outer edge of the room. Her eyes soon fell on a male figure with purple-ish skin. She held her glass up slightly in acknowledgement as she took a place a few feet away. Nasrin brought her free hand up to her face as she readjusted her simple blue mask with white lilac flowers.

~Blake Lostvelle~ Blake took notice of a few characters that were interacting with others, figuring them to be contestants in the gamesrather then just around to enjoy the party. His gaze first fell on the small group around Theodore, he made note of any physical characistics he could note. blake prefered girls/women but he was not opposed to using his charms on guys if it benefited him to do so. Blake stretched his black feathered wings slightly as he moved along the outer edge of the ballroom, keeping his eyes out for those he could seduce.
Blake finally noticed the pair of Artemis and Asiri. Artemis had that sort of wild cute about him and was definately worth considering. Mainly what drew blake's interest was the girl, Asiri. Blake licked his lips under the mask at the mere prospect of what he could do with her. Adding to his eagerness was that she did not have the appearance of being on Team three, so she became fair game to him. Blake pulled his wings in as he made his way over to them for introductions and to lay the groundwork for any future encounters.
He finally emerged from the shadows of the ballroom and made his way over to the table. While he walked, Blake made sure his black gloves were nice and tight. Once he arrived at the table, his white eyes peered at Asiri and Artemis. Once they noticed him, he finally spoke, " I am Blake of team three, what, by chance are your names and teams?"
