Today, I recieved a core to protect. I was told it was red jasper, and from what I know about the stone and it's properities, the core is probably most likely to grow into a female. I named the core Astral, since red jasper is often used to boost astral projection abilities.
I'm still not too sure how to go about caring for it. I've buffed it and tried to keep the core clean. I made a little box to put it's pillow into just to make sure that it doesn't get distrubbed. Other than that, proper core care was not on my lists of things that I've learned. I'm sure I'll figure it all out eventually, though.

I didn't really have much time to figure out how to care for the core. Just when I was starting to get the hang of it, it began to glow, and I was told to take it to the Clarius. One teardrop later, and I was introduced to a young girl who I was charged to care for.
Her name is Astral. On first appearances, she seems shy. She was quiet and a little awkward around the others present as well as a bit hesitant to trust me. But as I got to know her a bit back at my quarters, she has a fire in her. She'll leap to the defense of anything she finds to be important. She also has a long independence streak. Whenever I try to help her, she insists that she can 'do it herself'. I've learned not to argue. She can usually get something accomplished when given enough time.
