"For a kick to the shins, that was effective," she wanted the one chick to know. It wasn't as though it was particularly graceful, or even that it looked strong, but it apparently had been, somehow.
She stood back for a moment, distancing herself from the others, not wanting to really mingle .Hadn't she learned last time, after all, that socializing made you weak? Produced weaknesses to exploit.
That seemed to cheer her up a bit. She kicked the boss, aiming for its face because it seemed to be targeting her allies' faces, but that hurt a lot more than it seemed it should.
And didn't do much harm.

"Esaya, was it?" she asked, and then eyed her up and down, as if trying to assess her at some fundamental level. Her shoulders heaved, and she was trying not to feel that tiny nag of irritation.
"I'll say it again, in case you were too busy before: Raumias. I am Raumias."
And she turned away, again. She was about to prepare herself to enter the battle when someone else addressed her: "Clearly I do not belong with your people, so just let me focus, and let's kill this, so I can get out of here."
Raumias was so annoyed she missed altogether, and got backhanded across the face so hard she went sprawling backwards.
This was starting to hurt a lot. She closed her eyes, and meditated.
Clear her mind. Clear her heart of obstructions, of frustrations.
Calm.

Raumias simply nodded in acknowledgement.
It seemed distinctly possible, in that moment, that she had been holding on tightly to a sense of unhappiness that she was treating her teammates so strictly and with such a sharp demeanor. In the end, letting go of it was what helped her calm down enough.
And by now, she'd certainly studied its pattern of strikes: it allowed her to evade the enemy, at a time when she certainly needed to, and presented the perfect opportunity to slash down towards it, raking all along its back.

"Nah, no problem." Neios grinned over to her to reassure Raumias. "We're all feeling a bit strange and under pressure." The constant battles weren't doing anything to alleviate it either, as they were constantly attacked by the enemy. What was a little rudeness here and there? "But try to ease up on the attacks." He was getting sincerely worried for Raumias who seemed far more hurt than any of the occupants in the battle. "I don't want anything to happen to you." Were they... reassuring her?
In turn, she managed a small smile; the corner of her mouth tilted upwards. "Thank you for your concern, but... I'll be fine, so long as I don't let it catch me," she replied, darting in again as if to demonstrate.
This time, it was more aware: she didn't quite catch it off-guard, and only managed a quick kick to the neck, stunning it enough that she leaped back out of range again.
"And... do you all fight together often?" she asked. It seemed as though they were really friends, here.
