Seeing how the other fought... it made it easy for Viae to just let go. Final breath of the fight and all. A snarl, a snap of her fangs, a flick of her wings, and the blue-hearted female was on the creature's back, driving her clutched fists down like a hammer into the thing's face.
Bones broke. Shattered. Tumbled.
Viae felt with them. Yelping, startled by how final her action had been, she fell. Without much grace. She wasn't sure how she managed to miss tumbling into her partner, but she stared at the slowly vanishing body of the creature that had caused them so much grief and pain. With her a** on the stone and feeling dumb as a hatchling.
"Well that was... effective," she stated blankly. Before bursting into laughter that echoed like a roar across stone and water. It was dead!

Laurus tensed to spring at the creature once more, but it crumpled under the force of the other's fist. "Make that very effective." She stood beside her comrade-in-arms to stare down at their former attacker, who seemed to be dissipating as time went by. "Even so, I feel like we're understating." Grinning again (she seemed to be doing lots of this today), she looked across at the other blue-hearted female. "Well done. There wasn't much time for introductions before, but I'm Laurus."
As more of the creature faded away, she spotted something left in its wake and stooped to examine the spot more carefully. "Oh, look, it left us some gifts for our trouble. How very thoughtful of it." Her last couple of words were dubious; she had a hard time speaking kindly of their enemy, even after its death.

Her laughter subsided only slightly, even as Viae pulled herself back to her feet, patting off the debris from her a**. The creature was no more. All their pain was worthwhile, in that survival-victorious sense.
The grin she turned towards her companion was genuine in its warmth--an expression she'd yet to really use in this place, she realize vaguely--only brightened upon receiving a name at last. Laurus. "Honor to meet you then, Laurus, especially after a fight like that." Her clawed hand was extended, a greeting she felt... required. "I am Viae Gelds."
Her interest was certainly peaked to see what the creature had left behind. Enough so that she let out an amused snort at Laurus' commentary. "Least it's death will not be in vain. We'll happily profit from it's pain."

"Viae Gelds," Laurus repeated, intent on committing the name to memory. "It's a pleasure and honor meeting you in our recent fight." Answering her comrade's warm grin with a widening of her own, she reached out and clasped Viae's clawed hand with hers.
"How about we take this windfall and go celebrate our win?" She looked out into the fog with a chuckle. "I don't know what there is to do around here, actually. But between us, I'm sure we'll figure out something great."
The obscuring fog everywhere might pull them apart further down the line, but Laurus enjoyed the moment. Whatever happened later, things were better for having met a like mind, she believed. In a misty world of uncertainties, this conviction burned like a star.
