Her shadow shivered, split, and slipped apart into smoke before the gray and white fog condensed and reformed. Solliette stood, swaying. She was not quite solid and clearly weak; but she was not yet lost.

Why did he do that again? This really didn't seem to be a good time to be falling. After taking another hit, Solliette tried it too, just to see if there were some secret benefits to planting her face into the ground that were not immediately obvious.

Ezophyr disappeared again. Solliette waited for him to come back.
And waited. And waited.
"We only get one more chance..." She realized. Staggering on her translucent legs, she stared down the creature one last time. "One chance. Let's make it count..."
Solliette launched herself forward at the monster with a kick. Unfortunately, she only grazed its side; as soon as she landed, claws sank into her back.
