Day Three

Rhryse smiled back at the Goddess, taking one of the cookies with the slightest bit of hesitation. She gave a thankful nod as she stepped towards the table, unsure of what was happening, but trusting the Goddess to know what she was doing. The pale stuff falling from the sky amid the light sounds of the chimes echoed within her, like a faded memory. She felt calm.

The jars waited on the table. Rhryse didn't mean to make them wait long, but she was moving slower than intended. The peace she felt just had an effect on her. It was a feeling she couldn't quite place. Her sigh was almost dreamy as she looked down at the jars.

If based on color alone, she would have chosen blue. She nearly did. As her fingers had reached out for it, a chill had gone up her arm, stopping her. The blue jar was waiting. Sad and apprehensive, but waiting. She'd turned to the pink jar, and felt it, too. It was pleasant, happy and kind. Rhryse stopped. She needed to choose a jar.

The pink jar seemed friendly.

It came with a note. On that not were simple instructions. Rhryse followed them, downing the contents of the jar without hesitation. The emotions that followed were pleasant. Almost beyond pleasant after some of the things that had happened lately. She felt warm, happy. Content. She exhaled with relief as the feelings pressed deeper, calming her even as the table began to spin.

She wore a dreamy smiled as she examined the snacks offered. One was hers, she just had to choose. She stared at both. The cake looked very tasty. Lavish, even. The cookie was not quite so grand, but it was still very delicious looking.

Looking down, she realized she already held a cookie in her hand. One given by the Goddess just moments ago. Well. That made the choice easier.

Not that there had been a choice. The cake looked amazing.

She took a bite. She'd been right. It was amazing. Delicious, rich, light, and so good she almost couldn't stand it. She wasn't quite giddy, but something close. Not to mention lightheaded. She took a seat before she fall. A drink. Surely that would help clear her head.

The cups before her were gorgeous. A gold cup, and another with little red hearts. The glittering hearts were so pretty, she picked up that cup and took a sip.

The sun was shining in through the window, bright beams like in the cartoons. She inhaled briefly, forcing the air back out in a concentrated stream, sending the dust caught within the sunbeams swirling.

It was a lazy afternoon if there had ever been one.

She lay under the window, on on her back on the floor, in the warm sunlight as it slowly made it's daily path across the hardwood. Jonathan lay with her, his head comfortable and warm on her chest. Sherry sighed, glad the afternoon sun hit this window, glad the window was large and open. The yellow orange tint in the room was one of her favorite colors, and she delighted in the glow and the peace.

"Jon," she said, her hand leaving it's place on the floor, "do you suppose we could stay like this forever? You and me in the warm sunlight? Peaceful and in no hurry to get back to life?" Her fingers brushed his ear. She loved the softness of his ears and the way he let her pet them whenever she wanted.

Jonathan made a noise of contentment and looked at her. Sherry laughed. "I know. You like the lazy part of it." Jonathan snorted in response.

"It would just be easier," Sherry continued, "if it were you and me. You don't judge me, or blame me, or anything like that. You take me as I am and let me be me. You're the biggest sweetheart I know, too." Her fingers were rubbing at his neck by this point. Jon made another noise of pleasure and nestled even closer to her chest.

"We don't need everyone else. I don't need them. Not after all the crap they give me. I have you and that's all I need. You and your love." She smiled, lifting her head to look at him. Jonathan didn't look back. His eyes were closed and he was wearing the expression most cats did when they were content and warm in the sun while their human pet them. Regal contentment.

Sherry laughed. "You. You have it so easy~ no need to worry about others and you have me to wait on you hand and foot. Silly cat." He blinked at that, but probably just because she was being loud.

He did start to purr right then. That was how Sherry knew. He was happy and content with her. He loved her, in the way cats love their humans. He loved her when the rest of the world didn't. He'd sit with her and purr and make her smile when the rest of the world wanted to push her down and make her cry.

"Dear, sweet Jonathan. Know that I love you, you silly tomcat."

Jonathan sneezed.

---

Rhryse set the teacup on the table. Peace had washed over her. A happy content feeling that was warm and just a little bubbly. She felt confident and wonderful. Calm and rested. Almost home, because her heart felt a little less lost.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Gold
Description: Lax, acceptance, warm through and through.

Your commentary on its flavour: Viae could all but feel her muscles melt with the warmth that came from this memory. Almost literally! The warmth of the sun, the warmth of the cat... the relaxed atmosphere the memory emanated was astounding... and she couldn't help but envy them. Just enjoying the day, with someone they cherished. That it was a pet only made things better: they didn't care about your flaws, only loved you for you. Between that and just enjoying the simple things in life... she had a fine bit to muse over from this tea.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Dark Gold
Description: Warm, Slow, content

Your commentary on its flavour: Ixb couldn't help liking this one. The girl seemed so content and comfortable. Everyone could only wish to be as happy in that moment as she was. He had a fondess for the fluff of it and thought this memory to be a valuable one.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Warm Golden Brown
Description: Soft, slow, with a tint of delightful deception.

Your commentary on its flavour: She couldn't help but smile a little while she enjoyed this blend, the concept of love showing true outside of the norms in stories. The affection that the creator had for this little fluffy creature, and the acceptance back made her feeling content. Warm. Almost as if she could find a nice window to curl up under, herself.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Brown
Description: Warm, Safe, Content

Your commentary on its flavour: The taste lingered, and the feeling it left him with... how did one word it? He felt... warm, safe, content. He was at peace. The memory brought a sense of belonging, of cherishment, and he knew this was something that brought great joy to the holder of that memory. He felt happy for them, that they were able to experience such tranquility. To love and be loved, to know that there was always that one person, that one thing who would remain by your side, no matter what, to be your anchor through thick and thin. He hoped they would have plenty more memories such as this one

Colour of Tea Tasted: Brown
Description: Safe, warm, content, loved, happy

Your commentary on its flavour: Ako sipped the tea, a bit wary of what he might find. Though rather than something horrific, unpleasant, he found it sweet, satisfying as it warmed the core of his being. Tender love between the two, a simple pet and owner. Yet, wasn't that how it should be? It felt similar to something he'd had at some point, that happiness of merely wanting to see someone smile as you gave them silent company.

Yet now... now no one rubbed his ears, let him merely lay there with them in the sun, basking in the rays. It was so sweet, so peaceful. He was a bit jealous, wishing those too were his own memories. Because that was a wonderful place to be, wasn't it?

Colour of Tea Tasted: Deep Gold
Description: Warm and rich and glittering, sweet without being too heavy and calm. A perfectly steeped blend to suit every taste with a mildly addictive flavor.

Your commentary on its flavour:
Somehow, Annabell has strayed from this particular blend. When she reached it she found the color pleasing, the rich smell a siren to her senses. When she sipped at the cup, she found herself instantly attached, immediately wanting more.
The moment was golden in ever aspect, peace and serenity so perfectly intertwined they created a new emotion. Something precious and timeless, but fleeting and all the more sweet because of it. The man in the woman's lap was just right and the woman beautiful in her desire for endless time. Light filtered in at perfect intervals and the moment felt so right that it could have lasted forever.
But the liquid in the cup seemed less than all the others and with one motion it was all gone. The feeling left over was wonderful, but the craving for more lingered in Annabell's mind as she gently set the cup down with a happy sigh.

Colour of Tea Tasted: Mustard
Description: A smooth blend and just the right amount of sweet and soothing feelings, plus small marshmallows for the added fluff

Your commentary on its flavour: This was a nice emotion to revisit after that bitter one from before. Rostym found herself purring along with the creature--"cat"--as she held the teacup to her chest. There was the love of a sibling and twin, and then there was the simple love of a pet. She didn't know love could mean different things! It proved to be enlightening as well as comforting to the little shadow.
