Ruse also barked at the cat. It seemed to do more, if only because she was trying to bite the robot cat thing. It was surprisingly effective. With one last ditch effort, Rusekop threw her fist into the robots face, before she was unceremoniously thrown aside, where she found she hadn't the strength to get back up. One by one her group fell, leaving the little one alone. Rostym shivered in the fog as the creature came close, something between rage and worry sparking her to action.
She didn't find the words to paint her emotions. She only lashed out in retaliation.

Over and over again. The momentum carried through her strikes so smoothly that she barely felt the pain as it struck her. She couldn't stand seeing them all hurt, strangers or friends, and that need to avenge them kept her going.

And then she was struck in the face and had to back off. The blow made her see stars--fragments that lit up, really, but you get the gist.
