Outside the bright white room, Endlessly wispy gray trees speckled the landscape. There was not time to figure out where to go. Tiekash ran forward, ignoring the best he could the figure behind him.
"You took my heart. Cut it out. How cruel you are!" Snip, snip, crunch. Gray, gnarled branches snapped slowly as the figure approached, each snip of the rusty scissors accentuating its words, "Your heart will be mine. Mine mine mine. I will take it. All of it. You will die again!"
At the end of the trees was a chasm. Frantically, Tiekash looked from right to left, finally seeing it. A bridge, however rickety, was an escape. Eyes widening, he bolted for it as the shadow continued to approach.

The bridge felt precarious under each step, but there was no way to stop. Not now. Tiekash pushed himself to go faster, behind him, at the start of the bridge, came a massive creak and groan.
Shadow Master was on the bridge now too.
Terror gripped in Tiekash's stomach. Halfway across the wind picked up. It jostled the bridge and send him face first. With a cry of terror, Tiekash gripped onto both parts of the woven twine.
Sharp fingers gripped into his shoulders when he stood up fully. Then something harder pushed into his exposed back.
With another sharp yelp, Tiekash managed to run across the rest of the bridg and from the chasing figure.

Through the forest and across the bridge, to the haunted house he came. It's shadow cast across the ground, deep and black. Behind him the shadow continued to follow. Crunch, snip, drag. Crunch, snip, drag.
There is no where to run and nowhere to hide. The dagger, forgotten until now, began to warm in his hand. Whispered through his mind were the Goddess' words: Now or Never.
Now. Or never...
Turing on the stalker, Tiek lunged forward with his dagger as the shadow moved with his scissors.
A sad memory began to play...

Shadow Master lunged and Tiekash did at the same time. In a stretch of a second a memory began to unwind between them. It was deep, but cut out at the edges. Faded here and there.
Takeshi's Faded Memory Master stood over the small hole, around his body were white ropes with strips of rectangular paper pasted to it. Characters for warding evil were written all over them. What he was about to do was dangerous, Master knew, but it was time. Takeshi hung in the air, growling angrily. THE HUNGER was becoming too much. No more promises of souls would help fill it. What he needed was to eat Master's Soul. It was what would fill him up. Yet he couldn't get near Master. Those pesky wards made it impossible. In one hand Master held a burlap sack. A stink rose from it. Takeshi was curious about the bag, but still could not approach. Holding it over the grave, Master dropped it into the hole. Takeshi howled in pain. His corpse was in that hole. Now his head had been attached. The binds to this world were fading away quickly. Too quickly. He awoke, one more time, in Amytiville.
It was made to kill, and it did just that. Red like burning coals, the dagger slid into Master's flesh like a knife in butter. Master's shadow buckled, dropping the rusty scissors.
In an instant the shadow fell and dissipated. The hollow thunk of the dagger hitting the ground was the only sound. For a long moment Tiek tried to catch his breath, his adrenaline fading quickly.
Bending down, he retrieved the dagger. It glowed bright red, brighter than before. Behind him, the creak of a door made him turn. The haunt house door opened.
He escaped through it.
