He wasn't about to stop. There was so much he wanted to do and so much he wanted to see and he wanted it all and he was looking for something. Dwelling on the monsters' purpose would do them no good if they got beat up for it. Amati could ponder it after the monster was dead. She crumpled, but Shasa was not out of hope. The others were still strong, and Shasa felt convinced that they might be able to continue. The creature that they were fighting seemed weak and ready to give in, and Shasa let out a low, keening cry of encouragement. He made a swipe and then missed. It was a wonder that he even made it this far sometimes.
