I'm going to wrap this here since you've gone MIA while I was working on tags. Sorry!
You're the senshi I want to be
The statement, simple to Madea, ran in Acubens' ears painfully. No. No, sweetheart, you really don't. Something inside of Acubens bit and tore again, different from the jealousy of Madea being so well put together in the face of everything. Acubens scowled to try and keep herself under control, not knowing or else not caring that her expression betrayed her. Presumptuous. It was the word that flew into Acubens' mind without prompting or welcome. Medea presumed too much. She presumed Acubens wouldn't leave. She'd done it once before. She presumed that Acubens was worth emulating. The war burning inside her was enough to bring that argument to a screeching halt. Medea didn't even know the hope that screamed through Acubens' bones every time she passed a mirror. She didn't know the devastating disappointment when the frame held only her own reflection.
Everything was decidedly not perfect.
Medea was wrapped up in her training, she wouldn't notice if Acubens' cellphone fake rung right? Worth a try. Worst case scenario teacher was an airhead, which was fine with Acubens.
"Hmm," hummed as her answer.
"Oh really? Yeah, no I get it." Acubens held a finger up to Medea to signal she'd be right abck with her before turning her back.
"Yeah? Uh huh. No, but I'm with someone right now, can I just -- No, no I understand. It's just that I promised her, you know? I mean no, it's not life or death It wouldn't have answered the phone if... yeah. Yuh huh... I understand. I'll be there in a minute..." She hung up, letting her torso fall heavy as she braced her arms on her hips.
"Listen, Medea sweetie, that was one of my bosses. I have to go meet with them to set up a patrol. He's going out of town and I have to cover for him and now's the only time we can get together." She was getting better at lying.
"Stay as long as you like, just pack up the dummy when you leave. Don't want any misunderstandings."
She left perhaps a little too quickly to be truly honest.
