It was almost surreal, the amount of enemies they had to face, it was amazing no one had vanished from existence altogether. And she would fight the monsters alongside them.
Ri was surprised at herself. Just when all hope was lost, just when she thought her heart would crumble, she got right back up again, managing to land a decent blow to yet another enemy.
She watched as the others grouped together, their bonds forming new friendships. She hid the tears in her eyes, walking alone. 'Who needs friends, anyway?'
She was Anni once more, the only sign she even existed glowed a brilliant red, streaked with swirling blue, as gold lightning created cracks across the crimson. Her heart... Is that what her soul looked like?
In this world, she had been reborn into a blank slate full of hope and happiness. Anni Rohn... She kinda missed the feeling of a feather-light, free spirit.
She rocked herself slowly on the swing, accompanied only by the gentle breeze, the moon, and the stars. Who was she, now that her friends were gone?
"I don't want you to move." They ended their last day together at the Maul, her heart heavy in her chest.
Her past didn't matter now, there was only the present. And together, along with Excalibur, Horsemen, Hunters, and Halloween alike, they would rise to the challenge as one. A fearsome sight indeed.
