Luxor walked with her quietly until she spoke. It was a strained kind of silence, as he tried to think of something to say, but it didn't show on his face. It looked like he was comfortable enough, aware but not really concerned about anything going on around him at any one time.
He glanced at her when she spoke, then glanced down at the floor thoughtfully. If it was a joke, he didn't laugh, even if he acknowledged it as one or not.
"Kitten rescuing is not the most lucrative gig," he said at length, glancing at her sidelong, "but people are very thankful, at least." Her thinking or not thinking he was a stripper, was better than just... straight up thinking he was a stripper. He'd take a little bit of doubt any day.
"Though I rescue more than just kittens, if I can. I'm supposed to protect innocent people. This outfit is sort of... a way to keep my identity secret, I suppose. It doesn't look it. It all sounds silly when I say it out loud." He sighed, as if bored with himself. "In any case, if you're in trouble, I'll do my best to protect you."

If Leora didn't have a strange fondness from her unlikely hero, she would have made some droll comment about how his outfit really didn't keep much of anything an secret. She suppressed the comment, with barely a flicker of a grin passing across her face to show she had ever even thought it.
" Not nearly as silly as other things I have heard, if you can imagine. Besides, if it makes you feel any better, I believe it was the Author Diana Wynne Jones who said “Being a hero means ignoring how silly you feel.” " She turned subtly down a residential road, winding towards her home, the charming little Victorian style Bed & Breakfast. She still walked as a slow strolling pace so the rather battered Luxor wouldn't tax himself to much. " And I appreciate it, I'll try to make it easier on you though by not taking any more midnight strolls down dark alleys, if I can avoid it. " And even though it was said with a hint of amusement, she was completely serious.
Yes the leather and belt clad Luxor made a rather imposing sight, but she hoped he didn't find himself on the wrong side of a very bad situation, like a gun or a dagger, because he was off trying to rescue dolt who was getting mugged.

Luxor had to pause at her words, surprised by how specific they were to his case. He had not thought about it in so easy a turn before, though he wasn't sure he had the capacity to just not notice how silly he felt, as he had a hard time ignoring things. He had a temper and he was a very proud creature: his outfit left him open to insults and embarrassment, and that was difficult to put from his mind.
Still, it seemed like a nice concept, if he could manage to get behind it. Being a hero was more important, after all, than being comfortable.
He walked with her, looking at the building they approached and appreciating it for its look. It was a place that welcomed people, which he could enjoy because he was in the entertainment business. Appraising little details like that, though the venue and patrons were vastly different to what he worked with, was easy.
"Where ever you choose to walk, I'll protect you," he said, sounding like a character out of a video game and knowing it came out a bit cheesier, with his serious tone and dead pan expression, than he had intended it to. But he held his gaze and nodded at her to confirm it as fact, regardless. This was part of the job, after all. And, really, he just wanted to make sure she was okay. He didn't seem to, but he did actually care about people, and she was on that list.

That particular line did come out horribly cheesy, but somehow for Luxor it just worked. If he added a couple of " Ye"s and "Thou"s in there it would be like he was indeed a character from a book. And with his costume it would almost be believable that he had just stepped out of a TV show or book.
" I'll keep that in mind. " She said, offering him a genuine smile, all though a small one, as she stopped in front of her home. " Just, while your out protecting the world, and kittens, and silly girls who don't have the sense not to talk around the bad part of neighborhood alone at night, have a care for yourself. I don't want to see my own private super hero on the evening news. "
Little did Leora know, that her super hero wouldn't protect her when she really needed it. Not through any fault of his or her own, but just plain back luck, in the middle of the day. Not that Leora would know it as bad luck after the fact.
She let go of his arm, turning to give him another kiss on the cheek, a mirror move as the last time they had met. He was a bit odd, but she found herself harboring a great deal of affection for her stranger stripper super hero man. " This is me " She said, with a gesture to her house.
She was a woman grown, regardless of what her rather strange sense of fashion portrayed, and she had to repress an exasperated sigh when she saw the blinds of an upper-stairs window flicker, someone obviously peeking through the slits. She was being spied on, and she did her best to ignore it.

"I will do my best to keep out of trouble," he said. At least the kind of trouble that would land him in jail or on the news. He could not risk getting recognized or bringing unwanted attention to himself or to his Carnival, where he did most of his patrolling.
He did not want the wrong crowd coming to his home and work again.
This time, when she moved to kiss his cheek, he stooped a bit to let her do it, though his face remained blank and unreadable. He nodded his head, watching her and then looking over the area just in case there was any last minute danger he needed to be aware of. He was not going to slack off now, just because she was at her doorstep.
He did notice the blinds move, and winced.
"I should go. Have a good night."
He nodded his head again, then moved to retreat, to find some darkness to hide in so people couldn't continue to stare at him. He got suddenly self conscious of what he was wearing, and how terribly out of place he was. He would make sure to patrol around here, to keep her safe just in case he was needed.
For now, though, he had to get back to his carnival and pretend he wasn't embarrassed.

" Good night Luxor, Be careful Mr. Hero " She said with a small grin, watching him leave, one hand on the little white gate as she closed it behind her.
For what it was worth, she thought he looked quite dashing in his belts and straps, but she didn't think he would believe her even if for some perverse reason she decided to tell him so.
She latched the gate, and strolled up to her house, wondering what rumors would be floating through the tenants of the Bed and Breakfast come dinner time. It was a charming home, but one of the problems about an establishment that catered to many sweet little old ladies, was that those same sweet little old ladies were horrible gossips.
And Luxor was certainly a big piece of eye candy that whoever had been spying on her would be hard put to forget.
With a sigh she entered her home, knowing she was going to have to do some damage control. She had just started to be comfortable with the idea that Stone faced Luxor was indeed NOT a stripper. She wondered how she could convince her spy the same.
