Lhaimik could feel the orbs around him, hovering just out of reach. With hesitation, he tried to grab the closest one, which lazily moved to the side and away from his hand. He felt rejected and useless, feelings that were both familiar and unfamiliar to his core.

This one was practically in her hand. Arsenic had saw the glimmer as it popped up to her right, and ran for it, diving dramatically in an attempt to grasp it before it could slip out of her fingers.
But slip it did. She growled in frustration, and sat back up on her knees, looking around through the fog for another one.

It was far too easy to focus on what her task was. Something to make her whole. Something to give her shape. Something to please the Goddesses.
Shasa came across a small glowing splinter, and it was so easy for her to reach down to pluck it from the ground. More voices, and yet she did not answer.
Longing. Missing. Something was missing.
Here and gone.
Shasa continued on.

Another soft puff of air passed her lips as she glanced around once more to the other grey masses with blue hearts. Were any of them having the success that she seemed to be having? Were they all trying as well? Maybe they had lost something too.
Searching. Raedala blinked, picking herself back up to wander just a bit closer to the next pile of rubble; catching sight of... And then catching... Another shard.
Featherbrain... What an odd word to whisper; such a strange shard. She shook her head, letting it pass as she pocketed the fragment.

Looking at the sad, grey landscape made her feel even more insecure than she already felt, without knowledge of any memories or identity. Something glimmering caught her eye, and she pause, fixated on the grey crystal fragments floating around. She had assumed that they were part of the landscape, but...
Gingerly, she reached out a hand to touch one.

As if traipsing through a field of flowers - pink, yellow, purple, orange, gray, gray, gray - Shasa moved from here to there, following the pull of her Heart. A flicker - another fragment? - no, gone. Nothing there to take. Nothing there to make her own.
Voices, calling out. She did not answer.
Longing.
A yearning to be whole.

She seemed to be having luck in this particular corner so she sat down after finding a 'safe' spot. The stones did not seem to be crumbling as much here and the shade was just right for catching the shards in the right light.
With a soft grunt she shifted to reach for the next one, fingers closing gingerly around it.
Aldara.
Odd. Again with that whisper. Was that what she was supposed to be looking for?
No... Not likely.

Instead of waiting however terribly long it seemed to be for a response, Imuiel made for another shard that caught his attention, stepping onto the head of the statue and balancing himself precariously. Though this shard flickered out of view as he went for it, he was convinced that he'd be able to find more. That...warmth was something he wanted to feel again in order to analyze the sensation--he just had to be patient. Soon, soon.

Altairas' aimless wandering brought him to a strange place where everyone else seemed to be similar to him.. but he couldn't quite understand what that similarity was. He didn't dwell on his curiosities because he was focused on a goal. He had to find what he was looking for. A glimmer caught his eye. Perhaps this was it? He reached for it, but the fragment disappeared. Altairas was indifferent about its escape. He would stalk the tricky shard and try catching it again for however long it took until he completed his goal.

There was a surge of something - frustration? - as Shasa failed to find another piece of glimmering fragment. It was gone in the next instant as her Heart tugged her along a long row of pillars. There, hiding at the base of one of them, another fragment. Almost hesitantly she reached out for it, and when it did not dissipate, that surge of frustration bloomed into something different.
Excitement.
Before she could stop herself, Shasa called out in a quiet, quaint voice.
"Hello?"
Perhaps it would be nice to not feel so alone - then again, she had her task, and her task was of utmost importance. She would not fret if no one answered her call.

After several tries, Lhaimik finally grabs one of the elusive fragments.
Only four more to go... he thinks to himself as an unfamiliar feeling of confidence wells up in him.
Fire.
The word hits him suddenly as his gray essence wraps around the fragment. Fire? What is this? He brushes the word aside, unimpressed by its presence.

Another one made itself clear only moments later, and she ran after it through the fog, but tripped in her fast pursuit and landed hard. She looked up in time to see it blinked out, and crumbled, slightly. It was a hopeless endeavor. The first had been beginner's luck.
She got up, frustrated, and looked around her surroundings for more of the glimmers.

Shasa couldn't help but feel more than slightly exuberant as she stumbled upon another fragment. It might have only been a figment of her imagination, but for a brief moment she began to feel more stable. More focused.
Almost whole.
She could only trust in her Heart and the blessing she'd received, and despite that exuberance she could not shrug that intense longing that surfaced.
Always there.
Searching for something.

Another miss as a shard drew near. He almost fell off his statue with this grab, though he managed to keep his footing just barely. This time, a new voice emanated from somewhere nearby, and Imuiel decided that it would be in his best interests to get off of this potentially dangerous stone. Perhaps he could seek the other out? He could feel where they were, so it wouldn't be that hard...

As her fingers came in contact with the fragment, she heard a voice. Startled, she took a step back, wondering if everyone else could hear the same things she could hear, and what the significance of the phase she heard was.
She cast a hopeful glance at the nearby fragments, and reached out for another, wanting to find out more. This time, there was a different voice saying something entirely different...
