Ignoring the strange sound that called out to him moments ago, Decyl went to snag another fragment. The warmth it radiates was interesting, yet he could hear the voice calling again. It was the same name he had heard before but the emotion this time was...sad?

A figure caught her eye-- they were all grey-yellow-wispy, here, and the subway unnerved her. But she was not shy, at least she didn't feel shy, and that meant she wanted to approach someone.
"Hello," she said again, distractedly reaching for a fragment.
"I am Licraesa, and I think I want to know you. We have the same heart, and all. Did she choose you, too?"
A memory flitted into place.
"Anyone that-- busy wanna --? ....Please?"

Wooow, would you check this place out? Was it deserted? One would guess so judging by the state everything was in, but Vae didn't miss the fact that there were a number of other figures loitering about, all of whom had the same yellow heart as she did. Should she approach one of them and try to strike up a conversation? Though...ah, it seemed like everyone was occupied with something. Wha--
...Oooh. She turned her head and let her gaze follow after one of the fragments as it drifted past her, suddenly understanding what it was that had caught everyone's attention.
Alright, time to give catching these a try.

Hekhis reached out to grab at one of the red glowing fragments in the air again. Why did they move so fast away from her? She mouthed a silent 'Hold still, please' towards it. So strange a small thing. Was it even safe to touch? Brushing her fingers over it, she felt a small...small something.
I'm sorry.
It settled into her stomach with her hunger and it twisted angrily at her. It didn't feel good. She didn't understand what was wrong. Why was she broken.

She dove again at the orb, growling in frustration when it ended only in her hitting the crumbling ground. She caught herself as it crumbled under her, scrambling back and grimacing. She glanced around, feeling a tug on her core, urging her in a new direction.
Maybe there she'd have some luck with the fragments...

She let out a quiet sigh as the floating object slipped past her, and just as she reached out in an attempt to grab another, she found herself startled by a voice. Turning to look at the nondescript figure who had approached her, she hesitated for a moment before giving a small, polite bob of her head.
"Ah...hi! I'm Ixyguin." There was a pause, and then she slowly nodded, instinctively lifting a hand and setting it over her heart, "Yes, though...if I may ask, Licraesa, do you know why we are here? I find that I can't...recall anything, nor do I understand what we are doing here."

Remye spotted one to her left, and for a brief moment, was stunned both with its clarity and it's closeness. With wide eyes, she reached out to touch it--
And it disappeared.
She really wanted to throw something at those stupid, fascinating glimmers of light.

That feeling in her gut made her feel sick, but it seemed like several people were trying to pick up the red things. Were they something somebody lost? Hekhis would have asked, but her throat felt like it didn't know how to be used. Her mouth hurt when she mouthed any words and everybody looked so..absorbed in what they were doing, she wasn't sure if she could ask any of them about it.
So she made a point to see if there was somebody in particular gathering them when she was done..if she was done. Every grab she made was like butter, slipping out of her reach.

Decyl made for another, hoping to grab a fourth. He was not getting distracted on his way to figuring out who he was...Nope. Not at all. He made a grab at crystal number four and...misses! Instead, he accidentally grabbed another someone else instead of the fragment. Decyl immediately lets go upon realizing what he did and panicks, "Sorry!"

Remye had for the moment ceased her hunt, and was content to simply wander, taking everything in. Beautiful destruction, it was almost sad... She'd nearly walked right by the orb but this one didn't disappear right away, and quickly, without thinking, she reached out and snatched it up--
A feeling of sadness. The sound of something being smashed into the ground. A snarl.
The flash of memory was gone before she could decipher it. Why that? Was that hers? Without the context, Remye didn't linger long on it, and simply pocketed the orb happily. This was a piece of cake. Maybe if she just kept wandering idly...

Just as she reached out for another one of the strange floating reds she felt something else grab her, startling and doing a 360 in surprise, arms pulled up against herself tightly as she looked at the..well..other grey shape with a yellow heart as well.
Such visual information given for everybody. His apology was answered with a mouthed 'It's okay' and a wheezing noise. Why couldn't she talk? Was she mute? Was she having an 'I lost the ability to' moment? How did communication work when she had to hope lip-reading was an option?
I missed you...
It felt like it should have made her sad, but instead it was warm, fuzzy. She opened her hand, watching the red crystal fizzle out before she could ask about it beyond a hand wiggle and pointing at it dejectedly.

The second came as quickly as the first, though not in the same manner. Remye picked the second up off the ground as it tried to float away, laughing with elation as she picked up a second one. The memory was a sad one again, full of anger and shouting, but she pocketed it just the same.

Unfortunately her lucky streak ended. Remye went face-first into a bent pile trying to chase one that was insistent on not being caught. At that point, she decided it was hardly worth it, and with a grumble, she spun away, heading back the way she'd come. Maybe she'd find more on the way back.
