He dislodged his foot with a grunt and took off running once again. It wasn't as if he were scared of falling at all but perhaps the idea had just not occurred to him. The small fragment thudded over the delicate wood until another board snapped and caught his ankle.

The only thing that stopped Lilby's frantic ascent was a rock crashing down from above.

When the rocks started to fall, Lilby let out a breath of relief. He continued his trek (at a more reasonable pace) only to once more have a stair break out from under him.

FINALLY he reached a platform, above the base level, and too far above for the tumbles of rocks to hit. He was pretty sure he'd finally made some progress.
So much for beating the others. There was a path to follow and it looked like, a bridge.

Her 'victory' was short-lived. The attack happened before she was ready for it and, as a result her flailing attempt to bring her hands up to cover her head did absolutely nothing to defend her... And she certainly failed at attacking.

The bridge itself was practically frightening. Any fearlessness that Lilby had displayed previous seemed to have flown right out the window. As the small fragment eased his way out across the gap he tried to move as slowly as possible to keep everything from swaying.

Without a weapon, completely unprepared, Raedala did what she could; she began to flail her arms about while making the most pathetic of sounds.
