Awesome job, man!! I've been wanting to come out as Queer to my family for a while, but haven't really had the guts, like you said, I don't want to disappoint my mom but I don't want to be someone I'm not.

Congrats, it does take a lot to come out - and it blows when you lose a loved one over it (especially partners).

Wow this is all too familiar. eek When I told my parents I had nearly the same reaction. My dad kept calling me his little girl and trying to make me feel bad for not giving him a grandchild and they both just thought it was a phase.
Now my mom is totally cool with it and even stands up to my dad about it. He still goes on and on about how he thinks I'm straight and that I just want to fit in or whatever then ends it with a quote from the Bible. stare
One of my ex boyfriends broke up with me for the same reason. He wanted a girl not a Transgendered girl. Only we are no longer friends or talking for that matter. Oh well... lol
But congratulations on the outing man! blaugh I know that is a huge relief even if you haven't been fully accepted for it yet. Just always remember... there are so many people just like you and we are all ready and willing to lend an ear, a voice and a shoulder to cry on! heart
