Oulixes fell silent as Yaholo seemed to mimic the way that he was sitting and it didn't take long for the silence to grow to near deafening. Damn it, he hadn't meant to do that... hadn't wanted to kill the conversation or upset Yaholo he thought, quietly cursing himself. He really needed to try to get things sorted out in his head so that he could better deal with... well, everything really but most importantly Yaholo. The guy seemed to mean well so the last thing that he wanted was to... his thoughts were suddenly up ended as he found himself being... hugged? Something that drew a cry of surprise from him, making his eyes go rather wide, and he turned to stare at the other guy in utter shock, "W-Wha... h-huh?" What in the world was Yaholo doing?! Why was he hugging him?!

The other was suddenly going on about how he 'had' to hug him and that he whoever made him think as he did needed beaten with a stick. He blinked his bright yellow eyes a couple times before nodding his head in agreement, "He does deserve that or worse... one day, when I am stronger, perhaps... I mean I have my weapons so I am halfway to where I will be able to... deal with him." He said, not wanting to say 'kill' him since the last time he told someone his plan to murder the guy they had gotten quite upset. Best to keep his plans about murder to himself he thought quietly.

It seemed that Yaholo and his attempts to shock Oulixes into a heart attack weren't done though as suddenly the other guy was giving him a... kiss? Sure, it was just on the forehead but it was still enough to just make him go stock still, unable to move a muscle. It seemed to get even worse as the other said that he had 'fallen' for Oulixes. It were as though he were made of the same substance as the rocks that they were sitting on for a long time... before he was suddenly lunging to his feet, scrambling back away from Yaholo... then slipped, flailed, and landed on his backside in the water, "W-What the... are you out of your mind! You can't fall for someone like me!" He said as he tried to drag himself back to his feet, soaking wet once more, his cheeks burning brightly at the moment from embarrassment and a whole lot of confusion.

Yaholo had absolutely no idea how to react to Oulixes' shock when he hugged him. It was just a hug, nothing more! Why was it such a scary thing? Had he not been hugged before? The thought shook him slightly, what sort of cruelty did he live through where hugging wasn't allowed? He pouted, his eyes growing distant. This would need to be fixed, this aversion to hugging, and Yaholo hoped he could help him do that.

Then, Oulixes scrambled away and fell backwards into the water, causing Yaholo to leap up from his seat. Holy s**t, holy shiiiiit! Was he alright?! He hopped into the stream and hurried to Oulixes' side again before quickly moving to check him over. "Are you alright?! You scared me!" He cried.

Green eyes found themselves frozen upon Oulixes' face, utterly stunned by what he was saying. Someone like him? SOMEONE LIKE HIM?! What the hell was that supposed to mean!? Yaholo could damn well fall for however the hell he wanted to, thank you very much! How could Oulixes be so silly? He shook his head, rolled his eyes, and placed a hand on the other's shoulder.

"Yes, yes I can, and I have." He said, rather matter of factually. "I don't think I'm out of my mind, but if you perceive that I am, I don't see why. But that doesn't matter." He paused sticking his tongue out rather playfully. "Besides, when you say "someone like me", you don't realize that you're not just belittling yourself, you're belittling my feelings for you. It's sad that you feel that you can't be loved, or that you're unlovable, but you are about as wrong as wrong can become. I see someone who I'd like to become close with and hug, and wander the world with..." He sighed, blushed, and lead Oulixes out of the stream. "I see far much more in you than you do, so please, don't tell me that I'm not allowed to. What you see is what you see, but I see differently."

Again, he leaned in, and kissed the other on the forehead, smirking afterwards. Although his reaction had scared him, it was kind of cute now that he thought about it. Maybe he could spook him again?

He'd scared Yaholo?! It was Yaholo doing crazy things he thought himself, his heart thudding painfully against his chest. Where in the world did he get such ideas? Had he done something that would actually make Yaholo fall for him? Or had the guy sustain some sort of blow to the head that caused him to come to such a strange conclusion? Surely it had to be the latter, it wasn't as though he had been super kind or romantic during their first meeting, as far as he knew he was just... himself. Surely there was nothing about Oulixes being himself that would attract someone... right? Not that he knew of at least... It just made no sense at all if one didn't bring in the possibility of a head injury.

As the other set to scolding him Oulixes's yellow eyes went rather wide and he took a half step back from him. That wasn't... he wasn't meaning to belittle Yaholo, save for the part where he told him that he was out of his mind. There just had to be a reason for why he was saying such crazy things! Didn't he know what Oulixes was? Actually it was possible he didn't he realized, listening to what he said about how he saw Oulixes as someone he wanted to become close with, to hug, to wander the world with. It was all such wonderful and romantic... but they weren't words that he could trust. He knew the moment that he started to relax, the moment he started to get comfortable, that was when something bad would happen. He knew his father wouldn't let him escape forever... it was merely a matter of who attacked first. Would it be him or would it be his father?

As the other came closer to him, giving him a kiss on the forehead his hands reached out, catching hold of Yaholo, dragging him closer and he lifted his gaze for a moment, "I... want to believe you... want to be a part of what you are talking about... but I can't. I won't let him do to you what he did to me..." He murmured, starring at the other for a long moment before he lifted up, daring to press a kiss to his cheek, before he moved to gather his things up.

Yaholo flushed bright red again as he was given a quick kiss, and his heart raced. Somehow, he had actually not expected to be kissed, or to be accepted at all, which was humorous since he had just rambled on and on about how much he accepted and loved Oulixes. He had a habit of giving all the love and acceptance and withholding it from himself. Sort of hypocritical, as his step-mother had always said.

His posture grew stiff as Oulixes turned to gather his things, mumbling about someone or something that hurt him in the past. He tilted his head and furrowed his eyebrows. Oh, so Oulixes was afraid someone was going to hurt him for being close to him? He smirked, grabbed his hammer, and reached out for Oulixes again.

"Whoever this menace is won't know what hit him, trust me." He assured, wiggling the hammer a little. "If you're so afraid of someone coming to attack us, then we'll just have to prepare for this a*****e together, won't we? I won't let them come near you, I promise, and if they manage to get passed me..." He pointed back towards the forests. "I have three grown Alkidikes who would make them into minced meat if they dare cross either of us. You don't have to be alone in this, Oulixes."

He pulled the other close to him again and hugged him. He wanted him to feel that he would be safe, he wasn't going to leave him! If there was something terrible to fear, he had his hammer, Oulixes had his swords, and together they would make this terror pay for it's damage!

Oulixes stood up, glancing over at Yaholo with his things in his arms, taking in the way that the other was wielding the hammer and talking about how the 'menace' that was Oulixes's father wouldn't know what hit him. It was a nice mental image, that of Yaholo's giant hammer knocking that guy senseless... but at the same time he knew his father, knew how well trained and dangerous he was. Yaholo was only one man and he was vulnerable... He couldn't allow his father to see Yaholo, he would merely see him as he saw Oulixes, as a 'filthy' and 'dirty' person due to his mixed blood. It wasn't something that he wanted. Yaholo seemed to have been blessed with family and friends that wanted him around, that wanted him to grow up strong, safe, and healthy. He couldn't allow his horrible monster of a father to break Yaholo's good spirits he thought to himself.

"It nice of you to offer your services and those of your friends... but he is something I need to deal with... after all he is my... my father..." He mumbled, hating to admit that the one he was so terrified of was the same person that should have protected him when he was younger instead of tormenting him. That just wasn't how things were meant to be was all. He had come to terms with the fact that he was what he was, he was unwanted and dirty, and in the end he'd embraced it. Instead of doing what normal people did, embracing who they were, fighting hard, and gaining rank in their respective tribe, he had taken the weapons of a dead man. He was meant to take a far different path then Yaholo, one that would drag him through the mud and the muck, a path that would end up stained red with blood, and in the end he would end up a murderer. That wasn't what he wanted for the cheerful Yaholo, he was more the sort that deserved to walk in the sun instead of dredging through the shadows.

As he was pulled into another hug, one that caused him to tense up a bit, but he didn't resist, he let his eyes close for a moment. He would be lying if he didn't admit to himself that this was a temptation... to just give him and stay... but he couldn't. He couldn't stay anywhere, and now that he had the swords he would need to move on. Lifting his head he gave Yaholo a weak smile, "I'm... sorry... the last thing I ever wanted was to hurt you..." He said, as he slipped out of the other man's grasp, whirled around, and was quickly vanishing into the shadows. He'd hold it close to his heart that Yaholo wanted to help him, it meant a lot to him, and it would allow him to sleep easier at night knowing that at least one person wanted him in such a manner. It was because he wanted him like that though that he couldn't stay. He couldn't allow Yaholo to risk himself in such a manner, he'd rather have Yaholo hating him to loving him since the latter would put him at risk.

"I don't care if it's your father or some senile old coot, I want to help you!" Yaholo shouted, his underlying frustrations bubbling up onto the surface. Didn't Oulixes understand that he meant business? He was serious! He meant what he was saying and he was never going to go back on his word! Even if it meant taking someone else's life, it didn't matter to him any more! His father was obviously a horrible person that needed to be dealt with, why else would Oulixes call for murder?!

Again, he reached forward, feeling the other pulling away, and gazed upwards to find that Oulixes was gone. His expression fell flat for a moment, seemingly frozen in place, before his eyes snapped to the ground. He stayed in this stiffened posture and took deep breaths, and eventually turned towards Tale. However, before he could get more than three feet away, he spun back around, his eyes carefully scanning the trees. Then, his grip tightened on his hammer, and he swung it to the ground.

"Why am I never good enough as I am?!" He growled. It was always the same thing from everyone! No matter where he went, no matter who he spoke to, he was never strong enough for them! Sure, his family in Tale thought he was perfect, but they were only three people! Everyone else thought he was still incapable of all sorts of things! He snatched his hammer off the ground and smacked it into the side of a tree, leaving a good sized dent. He needed to be more, more than he was now! Always more, MORE!

After about twenty minutes and a few dozen swings, Yaholo found himself sitting next to the stream again, cooling his hands in the water. Getting all that out felt good, no doubt about it, but a good portion of his upset still lingered. He would glance up at every rustle of every leaf, hoping that Oulixes was coming back, and only be granted further disappointment when nothing but trees came into view. He didn't think he was able to protect him, did he? He stood, wiped his hands dry, and grabbed his hammer. Well, then, he would just have to go and prove it to him, wouldn't he?
