Well. If he was going to buy her the ice cream who was she to complain? Samantha wasn’t all that impressed that the boy had taken her hand, though she let herself be led by him, already planning just what kind of dessert she was going to get.
She thought for a long moment, then shook her head in just slight disgust. “How about I give you my phone number or something. I’m still not sure how I feel about the whole senshi thing. But if you’re ever powering up and want to hang out or something, send me a text and I’ll try and meet you somewhere. But please, don’t go bragging around Knightside that I gave you my number okay? You still go there, I assume. You said I was older than you…so please. Don’t…don’t spread this around. I’m going into high school, and you’re still a kid so I can’t be seen being friends with you.”

Orin blinked, dropping his hand to his side. "Oh—I get it it." Highschool was supposed to be a scary thing, after all. What with cliques and freshman Friday and all that—and she had to be a freshman. He didn't want anyone picking on her just because she was hanging out with a kid.
He tried to stand up straight, to look taller and puff out his chest a bit.
…If he were a little taller, maybe he could have passed as a high schooler too. "I won't tell anyone, don't worry. It can be our secret. I'll give you my number after we get ice-cream, too. I'll text you when I go out and maybe we can patrol together! And if I meet anyone else, I'll introduce you.
