Nick nodded though he was surprised to hear her talk to... directly. "I... sure. I'll keep the pictures." he spoke quietly. He walked into the bar area that they had built in the house and looked around. "There's actually quite a few. Planning on getting drunk?" he asked as he got out some whiskey for both of them. Mai had a key to the house since Lily had given it to her just in case of an emergency. Nick didn't ask for it back since he trusted Mai and wanted to keep her in case of an emergency. He wasn't kidding when he said that he saw them all as family. His family did live quite far away, all the way on the other coast. Nick had removed his coat and undid his tie as he walked in. It was around 9 p.m. so it was relatively early. "I'm taking the day off tomorrow. I'm going to the grave..." he began pouring some whiskey on their cups and handed one to Mai.

Mai given the photos. She got herself composed again. "Ha. Ha." She laughed sarcastically. "No, I don't plan on it." She answered. And when he took off his coat and undid his tie, Mai kept on staring. She then shook her head and swished the whiskey in her cup, trying to forget how handsome Nicky is. Mai gulped it down and made a face. Now she remembers why she doesn't normally drink whiskey straight. "Oh?" This peeked her interest. "If you don't mind, can I come with? I can't take a day off like you, but I can go with you for a bit." She asked. "Or if you wanna be alone, I totally get it." She quickly added, pouring more whiskey. She was getting too clingy. She needs to stop. "I have sunday off.. Maybe we can go out on that day. I think one of friends is going to a beach event? I don't know.. I figured maybe you want to go?" She told him, gulping down that nasty whiskey. "Or.. We don't have to. It's cool. I mean-" She banged her head on the bar. "I'm sorry. I'm not used to this. I'm not used to the fact I lost someone..so close..and I'm not used to.." She stopped herself, feeling the tears appearing on her jeans. She panicked. "..I-I..have to go, Nicky." Now he knew why Lily told him to never go drinking with her sister. She wasn't a good drinker at all. Actually, he found her slightly hilarious but he wasn't going to admit it out on the open nor laugh at her. He wasn't a great drinker but he was a decent drinker. Whiskey he could pass down with no problem. At least the first two cups he could. Watching Mai get drunk was a bit trouble some since he felt responsible about it. "You can come. She is your sister..." he said in a lonesome voice before letting out a long and tiring sigh. He drank some more and poured himself a bit more on his glass. Both were trying to get pass their memories and feelings, though Nick was trying to not get drunk. "I can't let you go on that state. You're in no condition of driving, nor am I. I'll call your parents." he said trying to find his phone but apparently he had left it over at her house. "I have an extra room. You can stay if you want." he told her. Nick didn't trust taxi drivers much since they could easily take advantage of a drunk woman. He too was getting emotional but it was getting overwhelmed by seeing Mai get emotional as well. She never did get like that, especially in public. So now, Nick obviously wanted to provide support. He was a gentleman, though he too was semi-drunk.

Mai was feeling sort of a buzz.. But, she wasn't drunk. She didn't really drink much, she always thought it was stupid. But, she does it on rare occasions. "But, she was your fiancee." She said, still having her head on the bar. Mai sighed softly. "I can drive, Nicky." She said, lifting up her head. She has tear marks down her face and her eyes were puffy and red. She wiped her face and sighed. "I don't want to stay here..with you." She told him. "I want to go home." She added. "I'm pretty sure I can drive better than he did." 'He' is the one who killed her sister. She lost it. She let those tears fall. And they fell hard. "Nicky," She whimpered. "I miss her." And she never told anyone that before. She did all of her business by herself. And her family therapist said that was bad for her coping. To forget her sister. Mai didn't want to forget her. She wanted to hold onto her. And despite what she says and does for other people, the only one not taking the advice is her and it sucks because she needs to. She knows that, but she also knows that if she does, she'll always see her somewhere. Whether it be on a billboard of her favorite place to eat, or her favorite song, food.. Or even Nicky. She can't just stop hanging around him, that isn't fair. She got off her chair and wobbled to him, still crying like a five year old child, she clung onto his shirt and laid her head on him. "It's not fair.. I..It's unfair that she died and I didn't.. I mean, for god sakes, you guys were getting married!" She exclaimed. Mai stayed there even if her body was telling her to go home right now.

Nick held on to Mai and embraced her as she let it all out. This was her first time like this, and he thought it was good she was letting all out. She had to, it was for the best. "Life is unfair... She's in a better place right now, Mai... She's gone and we can't do anything about it, but she will always continue to live on in our hearts, memories, and everything that she loved that surrounds us." Even though he was not sobbing, he did have a few tears pouring down his cheeks. He remembered how happy he was the day they were going to marry. She was on her way to the church when that idiotic drunk driver killed her in that car accident! Derek cursed that day and cried for days and months. Then when they did the autopsy and he found out that Lily had been 3 months pregnant he got even more heartbroken. Their fetus son... had died. The innocent child. It was a good thing that Mai didn't know about the pregnancy, otherwise she would probably die right there and then. Just as he remembered the baby, he embraced Mai tighter. "Go to rest Mai. Or give me your phone, I'll call your parents, but you can't drive in that mental state. Please.." his voice was a bit more shaky but still slightly calmed. At least more calmed than Mai's. He was ready to drink more, but he would do it once she was gone, sleeping, or something. He just wanted to drink his sorrow away tonight.

Now when did he decide that giving her advice all back to her? Now he chooses to her? His overbearing arms wrapped around her tighter. She let out a small gasp. She never really imagined him holding her this long, ever. Mai was in an emotional state. She should've went home when she had the chance. Mai didn't want her parents knowing this. Her parents would seriously keep her sheltered and give her more meds and she did not want to be back on those. Mai noticed the quivering in his voice and she shocked by that. She removed herself from him and looked at the clock, it was only ten. She can't go to bed.. It isn't that late. "What are you going to do all night?" She asked, finally getting her voice back. "Are you gonna get wasted?" She asked him, almost as if she was mad. She rolled her eyes and gave a sarcastic laugh. "Fine... I'll go sleep.." She told him. She turned, wiping her eyes as she walked upstairs. She knew where the bedroom was. Lily took her to see the house when they bought it. Mai smiled faintly as she touched the walls. Lily was there. And now she isn't. Mai feels as if she's trespassing.. Although she isn't. She found the main bedroom, she was half-tired and half-drunk and she took off her clothes and left her undies, lifted the covers and laid in bed. She cuddled into the pillow. It was filled with his aroma. His scent. And Mai loved every moment of it.

Nick chuckled slightly at her mention of him getting wasted. Ding ding ding! She was right. He stayed downstairs the rest of the night drinking while looking at the pictures that Mai had brought him of him and Lily. They were good pictures and they really brought some good memories, even some that he had forgotten about. He doubted he would ever be able to move on. That's pretty much how the night went on, him drinking, looking at pictures, laughing all on his own, and some weeping. by 3 a.m. he was already passed out on the couch with his shirt's buttons undone, well only the first 4. He had finished the whiskey bottle and was midway with a new one when he passed out.

Mai knocked out pretty easily, despite her efforts to stay awake. Several hours went by and she woke up to the sun hitting her face. It was clearly morning and Mai was a mess in his bed. Mai groaned as the light headache was forming. She grumbled something in her sleep as she groggily woke up and faced the ceiling. She turned her head to see the time. It was 9 am. She made herself get off the bed and head to his drawer to steal on of his shirts. Then she proceeded to his bathroom to rinse off her face and do what women needed to do in the bathroom. After that, she went downstairs. She still heard the TV playing but when she entered the room, she noticed Nicky laying down, passed out, obviously from drinking and probably crying. Mai felt bad automatically. She tiptoed to him and poked his bare chest several times. "Nick? Nicccckkkkk~" She cooed. She then felt his head. It was hot, probably from the drinking. She made a face at the bottles of whiskey and whatnot. She was disappointed. "Nick. C'mon, you have to wake up." She pleaded.

With a loud groan, Nick finally woke up. His eyes looked sleepy and tired, and his hair, well it was more than a mess, it was like a nest! Yet, he still had a cute look on him. "W-whaa-? What time is it?" he asked. His breath reeked of alcohol. He sat up straight and stretched before standing up. He knew he had to wash up. "I'll go wash up." he said feeling embarrassed of his current state. The man looked tired. He quickly headed towards the bathroom and took a quick refreshing shower with cold water. He came out dressed up ready to go out today to visit Lily's tomb. Since it was winter, it was really cold and the jacket/coat was necessary. He smelled fresh and of cologne, though he still felt dizzy from last night. He started putting some coffee. "Are you feeling better?" Nick was a never the type to waste time.

Mai blushed at him. She turned away, watching him get up and asking questions. "It's 9 am," She answered him. His breath didn't smell so good like his bed. Mai nodded at him and waited for him to be done. When he came back down, she went back up there and put on her old clothes from last night and walked back downstairs, smelling coffee. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I am. Are you, mister let-me-drink-to-oblivion?" Sh joked.

He groaned a bit more and sat down by the table while he waited for the coffee to be ready. "Still have a headache from drinking last night... I really don't think I'll ever forget your sister... I still love her..." he said with a sigh, It was already smelling like coffee. It was almost ready. He offered her some bagels. "You should call home and tell them you are fine. They must be worried about you." he stated. Even if Mai was already 23 years old, Nick still treated her like a child. It might get on her nerves at times but he only meant good. "There's some clothes you can wear upstairs. They are Lily's." he said. The coffee was finally done! He got out two cups and served themselves some. It was quite windy today too.

Mai rubbed her arm awkwardly. "I know, and that's fine." Mai felt a bit awkward in her standing. She tried to forget what happened last night and where she was. She looked down at her outfit and shrugged. "It's okay. I'll be home soon, I'll change into new clothes when I'm home.. For now, yesterday's outfit will suffice." Mai groaned. "Nicky, I am twenty-three. Not three." She said, smiling softly. "I'll call my parents soon.. They don't even know that I was here last night, there's no point of me telling them." She told him firmly. She grabbed the coffee and added what she liked and drank some. It was so good! And when she was done with it, she looked at him. "Ready to go?"

Nick nodded and grabbed his car keys. He didn't seem in a mood to talk right now, ... or ever. After Mai stepped outside the house, he closed the door and locked it. Just as he had said, it was incredibly windy outside. Then again, they did live in the windy city of Chicago, so it made a lot of sense. Once they were both inside the car, he drove to the graveyard on the other side of the city. That place had been chosen because it was the quietest place in the city. "I'll try to make it brief." he said as they waited on a stop sign in front of a church.

Driving to the graveyard where her sister lays is a big deal to Mai. She wasn't one to visit the dead. Sometimes Mai feels really superstitious. And at other times, she doesn't. Mai and Nick both waited at the stop sign and when the light on the other side said that they can go, they both went. She nodded at him when he said he'll make it brief. Mai didn't mind that he was going to see his fiancee. She didn't mind that she was going to see her with someone else. As they made it to the tombstone, Mai touched it slightly as she muttered, "Hey sis, how's it going? Yeah? That's good.." She said, sadly smiling.

The only stop they had made before going to the graveyard was the flower store. Nick had gotten some fresh flowers for his beloved to leave at the tombstone. "Already a year love... We miss you. We hope you are finally at rest." he smiled as he talked to the rock before him, but in a way, it was comforting. He left the flowers on the front and then left the other flowers on the back. He always said it was for decoration but in reality it was because of his dead fetus child.
