Salinath laughed in amusement at Aaren proving their point and not even realizing it. Twice no less. But he moved on to other things.

"I am afraid I am not very subtle this lifetime. I shove anything in my way out to reach my goal. Or freeze them in place and keep moving. The fighting would be no problem to me, but the delicacy with the souls is a problem. Arthas did not care what happened and therefore neither did the death knights. I was used to summoning the undead for my purposes with little care for what happened to them." This was not easy for him to explain or even admit to the others, but perhaps it would give them an idea what he had become this lifetime. Not by his will, but he had little choice once forced into Arthas' mold of what a death knight was.

"I have not summoned nor tried to since I began bringing myself back to life. Not only is it harder to reach for that magic, it actually stings so I have refused to do so. I can get them to come to me, but they seem to want to play rather than do as I need them to. I have a problem pushing them to doing anything because of the way I forced others." It was not easy for him to admit and it was obvious he was uncomfortable with the things he had been forced to do. This was the first timehe had actually thought about it.

So the valkyries had not truly been his... ? But then why could he feel and awaken them ?

At least Alva had an excuse to be confused. Which, of course, meant that Ankou was all too happy to focus on something else. That something else being a plan. Most of them were warriors, and it was the spiritual side they lacked. Which was something he could teach them, which probably explained the poor state of things well enough. Hrist could not handle all of them at once.

It just seemed like a looming specter he could not best. By pulling his energy here, something else would inevitably suffer. He would somehow keep his sigh contained.

"The children know a kind heart. They are not much different than living children in that regard. The others, though... It might take a while before they trust you again." She was no stranger to Salinath's predicament, honestly, and it had been something they'd touched upon.

"Though, if there is still a lich king as you say, Nath, maybe a touch of that remains on you. That would scare them off."

Ankou had apparently taken the one way ticket to awkwardsville, which was not surprising at this point. I can't remember much either."

Yes, guiding the spirits was not an easy task, and this was where the Guide himself came in, they were his aides, it was his task to teach them to understand the spirits, to coax them. Val could sense his exhaustion, it was not an easy job and if Nergal was not doing his than it would be night impossible. There were many gods that made the path from death to rebirth function, and not just gods as the Valkyries proved.
"We can work together to teach them." She said to the Ankou, "If I can recall it myself." This was all still very strange. "The Underworld, I need to see it."

Sann smirked a little at the mention of things spiritual, yep she had forgotten about the fluffy side of being a Valkyrie. She much prefered stalking battlefields for spirits to guide, most of them accepted the fate of their path in life, the unsuspecting, distressed and playful were much more difficult and quite often needed ... feelings.
"We are fast learners I am sure. The knowledge is within us somewhere."

The only thing was surprising about Ankou checking out like that was it had taken him this long to do so. He seemed pensive, moreso than usual and that made her frown. What was on his mind though, only he knew. Hopefully they would be able to take enough of the burden from him once they were trained in their task again.

Salinath frowned slightly. "I suppose there could still be some of that death clinging to me. I am not fully alive yet. I still have a way to go. What I was taught uses me to turn myself back. I can only do so much so quickly, but I had not thought of them knowing that touch. It makes sense."

An idea occurred to him. "I suppose that if I changed the time I regenerate to right before I go out, then they would feel something quite different in me. I may try that and see what happens. Perhaps it would draw more closer in those first few hours and not take so long to deal with them."

Then he laughed softly, "Though I will still play with the children. They need it."

Of course she needed to see it. He kept his sigh to himself, but shook his head. "It is dangerous in the state you are in right now." The Underworld was not a kind place to the living, after all. Even if they came though the world tree and stayed very briefly, they would have no easy way out. If the Underworld didn't get Alva, the soul path would.

"Maybe that would help." Hrist nodded. They'd feel the life off him, then. Undead beings had a tendency to snatch souls, after all.

"Hm... Maybe if one of us came with you, too. It might help ?" At least offset the feeling he gave out some ?

Aaren would stay silent, not quite certain what he could add to that.

Val frowned through Alva, what was the use of a death god being reborn into a mortal body. If she could not access her realm then was she not useless? Harmodius had not thought that one through very carefully. She took a deep breath and turned her ears to the conversation among the Valkyries.
"The children should always be entertained, they are drawn to those with playful souls." Though wiithout the fields of innocents there was no where for them to go. She could only imagine the backlog in the Underworld, the restless growing more distressed as time went on.

Sanngrigor leaned back against the wall behind her as she listened to them. With no memory of how they learned their skills beforehand it was difficult to see the way forward now.
"Salinath, perhaps Alva should go with you, I am sure the draw of Our Lady Underworld would be greater than the rest of us, if they can see that she trusts in you, then they will trust in you too?"

Salinath nodded. "It is worth a try. We can see if it makes a difference in their attitude if you are with me and then later I will try focusing just before I go out and see if that changes more. And if there is another reason, then another might see something I miss."

This needed to be worked out somehow and this would give him more help to figure it out. Anything that helped Ankou spend more time with his family was worth it to him.

There was little comfort he could offer to his sister, beyond the fact it was a pain he knew well. A Spirit Guide that could not freely travel worlds was also a rather useless thing. He had gained a mean to walk worlds by using soul paths and the Underworlds as a leaping stone, but it had come in rather late.

"You have a point, Sann." If anyone could put the spirits at ease, it was the Lady. "We should try.

Well then that was decided. If she could not help Ankou with the spirits then she would help the Valkyries, she would have done it intitially she imagined, though she could not remember. They needed to reunite as a unit, not just with each other. If they would trust her and welcome her then she would do what she could to aid them, despite her circumstances.
"Which of you will be travelling with Ankou to Azeroth?" The question came from Alva though it was thought up by Val. "Who will be staying here?"

"Hildr and I are staying here." Ankou had made a pact with Tien after all and they had others to train for when the time came to go to Eshurian. That and they had to make sure the other nobles remained in line and did not cause anymore s**t than they already had.

"I'm going. I am from there so I know the situations in most places. Especially those concerning the scourge and the death knights." He did not imagine Ankou was going to like what he found there.

Nath had thought the whispers against his thoughts would stop. But they were still there faintly. He was not sure if it was an echo or old or something new. He would not say either way until he was certain.

"Azeroth is in a great deal of trouble. I'm sure there is more than even I know of."

"Only Salinath will be going with me." There was no way he could be left behind, given that it was his world at stake. "The others are staying here." Byrnhildr and Kara would be training the mir'eshu, but they would indeed be close by.

Though perhaps he should speak to Valyrmora of the plan he had in mind. His gaze would linger upon Nath briefly, then to her. He was the one more fit as captain, this life, and he planned to act upon this eventually.

He just had to make sure the man could bear the process first.

The goddess and host surveyed the Valkyries lined up before them and gave a brief nod. That was good, with the majority of them available they could catch up on what had been missed.
“We can train together then. Work on both the physical and the spiritual.” She wanted to see what she could achieve in a mortal body. The girl was certainly strong, but as Sanngrigor had pointed out she needed her skills refining for battle. Then there were the spirits, would they be able to sense them, she hoped they would at least be drawn to her in some way. She might be mostly mortal but she was still Underworld, that had to count for something, despite being a fish out of water.
“I would like to spend time with each of you, learn about the people you are now.” That would be important to aid their organisation as a unit.
