The air was heavy with a strange sense of power, tinted dark by the circumstances that surrounded it. Without his youma, obviously exhausted, he was helpless and it would have been so easy to end everything right here and now. Far too easy and it scared her that she was even contemplating it.

"I'm not you." She said softly, nearly under her breath. He might not have even heard it, but that wasn't the point anyway. She took a deep, shaky breath and spoke again, louder this time. Faced away from him, she turned her head just a little to direct her words back at him, but her face remained obscured by her scarf. She didn't know how stark her face looked at this moment, but instinct kept her from revealing it to him. He didn't need to see how vulnerable she felt right now, her hands curled in fists at her side.

"I understand, but I don't think you do. You said they transcend, but what is really the point of such a meaningless life? Its not even living... and who are you, to decide that for someone like that? To just... reach into their life and break it? I think..." She paused for a moment before a rough laugh broke from her, an idea sparking in her head.

"I think maybe you see too much of yourself in them, or something in them that you lack, and in your jealousy you have to destroy it. Because how fair is it that someone should have something, while you have nothing? I can't imagine that you have anything worth celebrating in your life... How sad. I pity you that sort of life. Maybe you should do that youma trick on yourself, maybe it would fill, or even erase, whatever hole you have inside you that you have to fill with pain and death. Then you could be one of those monsters you praise so much."

This was really getting to be too much and it was pointless to stand here debating with him. He was right when he said that talking wouldn't convince anyone. Turning abruptly, the flower senshi stalked to the edge of the building with exaggerated smoothness, a by product of trying to keep herself from shattering into pieces. She felt like every step was jarring her to her core...

"I don't want to see you again. You had better crawl back into whatever dark hole you came from and stay there, because I'm only going to get stronger and next time... I don't know what I'll do." How stupid, offering him this threat with her back turned. Was she suddenly in a tv show or something? Had she become a super hero in a comic, arguing with a super villain? Even she could feel that this was all ridiculous. "I'm sure it'll be something bad, something I'll regret."

Ida paused long enough for a rebuttal, or him to tell her how stupid she sounded or how childish she was being. His words would fall on deaf ears though, because she had already closed herself off to them. It was a simple drop to the street, leaving him laying on the roof alone with a pile of dust as she dropped her transformation out of sight and walked out into the light of the bustling street. She let it wrap around her like a soothing blanket, conversations drifting around her that she didn't hear, lights glowing on all sides to banish the darkness everywhere but deep inside.

"All life is meaningless, child." He uttered a cough of a laugh. How funny, he lacked the energy to put some effort into his blackened mirth. "You mistake me a souzand-fold. You sink I haf' ze ausority to determine if someone lives or dies? Hardly. I merely give zem ze choice to die, ze option, and ze universe decides zeir fate. I haf' nossing to do wis' it. Even if I wasn't around, someone else would be ze cause. If not someone, zen somesing. You see ze pattern here? When people are destined to die, it isn't due to my own volition. You'd do best to understand zat. We are all just blind maggots wrizing around in ze dark."

And he understood that acutely.

But she already established her own skewed perception of Bischofite. She explained his motives in a dismally succinct manner, watering down his erratic actions until they became revolting drivel, thus rendering the thought of fighting him easy to digest. But... She had one valid point. A single brightened p***k amongst a torrent of meaningless sludge.

Bischofite could transcend himself. He could become one of the youma he so coveted, and finally shed the final dregs of irrelevant emotions to establish a greater form of himself. And finally he might shake the chains of suffering, for no youma held the self-deprecating notion that suffering formed a greater sense of character. No, they understood the folly of human nature. Of humanity. Of love and hate and sacrifice.

And they knew how to devour the weak.

"Don't pretend to understand me, Ida. I didn't see anysing in zat girl besides a brainless teenager trying to wander her way home. But you see, you senshi are endlessly fascinating. And zese aimless civilians, when under duress, endure such magnificent changes. Bos' of you, when faced wis' adversity, retain an enriched life if you survif'e. If she had lived, she wouldn't see her routine as some boring cycle anymore, because she tasted her own mortality. She would feel events in her life wis' much more vibrancy, and surely you would do ze same. at is, after you came off your arrogant high for 'saving' someone who wasn't meant to die."

Bischofite laughed in response to her parting statement, though it rasped through his throat and convoluted into more of a choked scream. "Was zat supposed to be a sreat? You'll haf' to try harder, little girl! Here, I'll even give you an example..." Bischofite lacked the energy to display his vigor properly, but he still managed to pull himself into a sitting position. "Ze next time I see you, Ida, I am going to skin every ******** friend of yours I can find and burn zeir hides into a twisted crust. And once zat scent stains your nostrils and propels you into action, I'll break bos' your legs and feed you zeir ******** remains." In his disgust, he snarled at the peak of his threat, though now she was nowhere to be found.

She left amidst his words, as the clearest message that his existence amounted to nothing. His actions didn't even warrant death.

And he voiced his squalid frustrations toward the indifferent blackened sky.
