Chalcedony shifted himself so that he was better facing Keilana when she took hold of his hand, allowing him to rest it on the curve of her stomach. He splayed his his hand out against it, focusing on it, wondering if she was far enough along that he would be able to feel anything. As she spoke again he found himself giving the slightest of shrugs, "I... I'm not sure. A part of me wants to ask you to tell him but... it feels like the cowards way out, given that he is... with your brother and you are carrying my child I am guessing that we are going to cross paths eventually." He couldn't avoid Takoda or her brother forever anymore now could he? The idea of being forced to see them together, it was grating, but he would have to be on his best behavior for Keilana and for their child. If he acted in any manner that might show what he felt about those two, well it might make things strained, which was the last thing he wanted.
"Ahhh, so your friend escorted you here? That's good. The idea of you walking all the way here from Tale along is one that is a bit distressing." Knowing that she had a friend along with her for the walk was reassuring, he only hoped that this 'Animah' person was strong enough to keep the both of them safe on the trip to and from Jauhar. It seemed that she was at least a good confidant, which was a good thing, something that Chal missed having.
At the mention of them needing to work something out so that she wasn't alone when the baby came he gave a nod of his head, "We will try to figure something out, yes." A part of him would prefer her to stay here in Jauhar... but given that she was loathe to even go up into the tree he doubted very highly he would be able to get her to go all the way up into the top of the tree where he and his family resided. If she liked being the ground then she would hate their sky high home he thought to himself before giving a smile, "You are always welcome to stay with my family... though I am sure you would rather be home and on the ground." He offered even though he knew she probably wouldn't accept the offer. Maybe if he were of a different, ground dwelling tribe, perhaps.

Feeling his hand on her stomach made her shiver, even she hadn't felt the baby move yet, at least she was pretty sure she hadn't. Okay so...she had a few times and she kinda hoped it would move now just for Chalcedony, chewing on her lower lip and annoyed when even the baby seemed to defy her wishes.
"I am..not fond of the idea of being up off the ground. I am not a tree dweller, I would probably be at more risk in the tree than on the floor. " She commented with another repressed shudder.
"We could go to my brother together...and tell him and Takoda at once if you prefer. At least neither of us will bare the brunt of his anger alone." Came her suggestion, though now she glowered at the baby bump as if really irritated that the baby was so quiet all of a sudden.
"I had been considering...moving out from home awhile now..after all I love my brother but he needs to live his own life...and if I want you to be able to visit your child whenever you want it will only be more awkward if he is always around."

Chal left his hand in place for a time, waiting to see if he felt anything, but for the moment it seemed as though the child was going to remain still. Tired, perhaps, he thought to himself as he looked down at her stomach, then up at her again. She was telling him what he figured that she would, that she wasn't fond of the idea of being off the ground, that she wasn't a tree dweller, adn would likely be more at risk up there then down here. All things he expected her to say and yet he still found himself a touch disappointed. Likely because that meant that she wouldn't be moving to Jauhar, away from those that Chalcedony was kind of avoiding. He had no real room to complain at this point and could only nod and answer with a quiet, "I understand." Since he did understand, even if he found it to be a shame.
What came next had him starring at her once more, his eyes going a bit wide, before he looked away, "Ahh... maybe..." The idea of having to go before both her brother and Takoda to tell them this news, it was something that he didn't like the sound of even in the least bit but... well, at least it would be done then, right? A bit like ripping off a bandage that had stuck to a wound he thought to himself, not that he wanted to compare his child to such a thing. On top of dealing with those two there was going to be dealing with his own family, something he couldn't help but to worry about. This was a rather complicated and awkward sort of situation, wasn't it? Not one that either of them could possible prepare to deal with.
As Keilana told him about her plans to move out he turned to look up at her, giving her a curious look. Were she to move out things might go a little smoother he thought to himself, "That would make it easier." He said after a moment, it would mean visiting without having to worry about her brother or Takoda being right there, or worse both of them being all lovey dovey, not something he wanted to deal with for even a moment.

The baby moved causing Keilana to flinch a bit, after all it still felt strange to her to have something wriggling around inside of her. Kicking and punching not to mention the back flips.
"Yes...I think its a good idea if I move out. Maybe...we could build a home close to the edge of the forest? That way I am half way between you and my brother." Kei offered a smile putting a hand on her belly to calm the suddenly rather active child down.
"We will need to choose a name..when the time comes...I am a little frightened about that aspect...giving birth. I would...rather you be near by when it happens...." IT was a selfish request but she couldn't help herself.

Chalcedony seemed to be thinking on that, wondering if it was a good idea, "Hmm... so long as you are still near enough to one of the settlements. I don't want you or the child alone after all. Jauhar and Tale can both be rather dangerous places for anyone when they are alone." Let alone a pregnant woman or a woman with a child he added quietly to himself, not wanting to say those words out loud since it might very well get him beaten by the Leaf Tribeswoman. Pregnant or not she was still a tough girl he reminded himself.
As she spoke of choosing names, as well as about him being nearby when she had the baby, he couldn't help but to go a little wide eyed. Both requests were ones that added that much more weight to the situation, making it seem all that much more real, "I will do what I can to be there when I am needed." He vowed, even though he knew that he might very well get awkward given that it meant dealing with both Takoda and his archer. It was something he would have to deal with though, better that he have to deal with the awkwardness of that situation then miss out on the arrival of his child after all.
Giving a bit of a smile as he felt the child shift against his hand he said, "This all feels a bit surreal, like I am going to wake from a dream at any moment. To think I am going to be a father." He mused, then glanced up at the trees a moment, "Hmm... that means I have a ton of people that I am going to have to tell about this. Should be... interesting to say the least." His parents, his grandparents, his many siblings. He could only imagine how loud this discussion was going to get he thought to himself.

Keilana give a small smile, though she had to wonder just who Chalcedony had to tell besides his immediate family about this...'miracle of life'. Still she was pleased the baby finally decided to move for Chalcedony instead of staying dormant. Even if it was uncomfortable for her.
"Well I think we still have time...I mean I am getting close but...probably a month or two..left. If I am going to get a home of my own its going to have to be made quickly...and my brother will have to get over himself and his ...'brotherly protection' unless he wants me to go into early labor." She joked though in all honestly she dreaded the outcome.

"Getting close." He mused to himself, he'd need to get comfortable with the idea, used to the fact that he was going to be father in two months, it was a crazy thought. Still, it must be harder for Keilana so he wouldn't do anything to make it seem as though he were struggling with the idea, especially since he knew that she had a rather large hammer that she might very well bring back with her. At the mention of her brother he opened his mouth, then snapped it closed. No, no reason to say anything about him, he didn't want to start a fight after all. He was something that he was going to be stuck dealing with now, huh? Bah, what a pain... but one he would live with so that he was able to see his kids as often as he would like to.
"Well, if you need help with anything just let me know." He said finally, picking the right words to say instead of anything that had to do with her brother. Best that he didn't bring that one up even if he didn't care for him. It was Keilana and the baby that he needed to focus on after all.

Feeling for once at peace with with concept of becoming a mother she looked around and then placed a hand on Chalcedony, she felt guilty..after all it was rather her fault for getting them both drunk and having it lead to this outcome...she could only hope that he wouldn't be bitter in the long run.
"Maybe soon you can help me pick a spot to build my new home? Then we can see about getting it ready for the baby." Two months hardly seemed like enough time, but she was sure with the help of their families they could manage it.
Not that she wanted to rush off, but she felt bad for abandoning Animah in the forest by herself, she had been so kind to escort her here...and she didn't want the girl to be left waiting forever, but at the same time it felt...childish to run away.

Chalcedony seemed to think on it for a moment before finally nodding his head, "Sure, I will speak with my family about it, see if they might know a good spot for you to relocate if you are really serious about such a move." He wasn't sure what he thought, not wanting her to be too far from either of the villages, but if she really wanted to move best that he help her find a good spot. It was strange, to think that in such a short amount of time he and a girl he barely knew were going to have a child. Still, the proof was right there before him, moving against his hand within Keilana's stomach.
After a moment he pushed himself up to his feet, helping the Leaf Tribeswoman up to her feet he gave her a smile, "If you need anything and your brother isn't about feel free to send word. There are things that can be found in Jauhar that can't be found in Tale so I can at least help in that aspect." Given the odd cravings for food his mother had there was that chance that Keilana might be the same. He'd help fetch things where he could provided he could get them to her while avoiding those that he wasn't much of a fan of he thought to himself.

Looking up at him she felt her cheeks color a bit, after all she didn't know the shifter man well, if it wasn't for the history between her brother his lover and him she probably would consider him a vague acquaintance. As she was helped to her feet she gave a bit of a groan, she was already tired of walking and the idea of walking home was not exactly the game plan she wanted. But she couldn't just abandon Animah in the forest, not when she had been so considerate in escorting her here.
"Probably a good thing I want to move...the closer to the due date the less traveling I will be doing...so I best set up a house soon huh?" She chuckled her own hand coming to rest against her stomach. Giving a bit of a grimace as the baby seemed to be flailing about in her womb. Seriously sometimes she wondered if there was more than one in there...

Chal gave a bit of a nod, "It would be best to minimize travel, I agree." Having her run all over Jauhar and Tale was likely a terrible idea, it meant that she could go into labor anywhere... and that wasn't something that he liked the sound of. He'd rather she was around a more populated area where she had access to a Healer he thought to himself, the one upside to her staying back in Tale... though he wondered if she would allow Takoda to help her. Last he knew after all she didn't seem as though she really enjoyed the company of his fellow Shifter. No matter, that wasn't what was important, what was important was the child, so hopefully if a Healer was needed she'd put up with Takoda.
Digging into his pack Chalcedony got out some of the red fruit that he often carried with him, offering it up to her, as well as one of his water skins, "Here, for the trip back. I am sure that this will be helpful." She'd be walking back with her friend, so security was covered, but it was best that he make sure that she had supplies as well. He wasn't sure after all how well prepared the trip out here with this new was after all.

Surprised at the sudden appearance of fruit and water she couldn't help but have her mouth water a bit. The fruit looked so delicious...but she would share even if the baby was demanding she eat it all right now like a wild animal.
"Your very sweet..." Keilana started, and she realized that perhaps under different circumstances ...perhaps they could of been involved romantically before ..this incident happened. Taking the offered items she held onto them carefully, resting them in the crook of her arm as she used the other to support her aching back.
"They will be much appreciated Chal, hopefully I will see you soon?"

Chalcedony nodded his head, "Yes, we will see each other again soon." Given the tie that they had binding them now there was no reason for them not to meet up from time to time, he didn't want his child to be raised without a father after all. While he had a feeling he might end up like his own father, taking care of things outside of the house and keeping the family safe, he wanted to try to be a bit more present then the man had been. He loved his father, but the man was gone a lot due to the patrols he did.
Shifting his shield from his back and into his grasp he looked over at Keilana, watching her as she went to find her escort. The woman was going to make sure that Keilana got home safely, a good thing since he probably shouldn't follow her back. For the time being he didn't want to deal with the archer even though he knew now that seeing that jerk again was inevitable. Turning slowly he looked up toward the trees, almost certain that his sisters were perched up there somewhere watching, before he moved toward the tree, moving to climb up it. He wasn't sure how he was going to break this one to his family, to his parents, but he'd figure it out. It was something he needed to figure out soon given it was likely that Reva and Vera had been eavesdropping meaning they knew and given their big mouths...
"Time to start thinking." He muttered to himself, the sooner the better so that he could get help in finding a place closer to the ground for Keilana to live in. Eesh, it just didn't seem as though there was near enough time.
