Ah, another Caterpie! He took a deep breath and tried another Growl. But this time he put too much force into it and it sounded more like he was straining to lift something than scare off a pokemon. The Caterpie kind of gave him a sidelong look, then sidled away.

Jubilee nodded her head in agreement, "Ummhmm! Everyone always underestimate the helpfulness of a stick though." The togepi wandered around the room, pokemon everything she came across (except her partner; that would be mean!)

Another cheri berry rolled out. Jubilee picked it up and pocketed it. Paralysis better watch out! the togepi thought.

Maybe he was just too busy looking for a stick, but he saw nothing else of interest. He poked at a bush as they passed, as if a stick might drop right out of it, but nothing happened.

Naka trotted along as well, stooping to pick up a big leaf. he tried poking at things with that, but while it looked fun swishing around, it was to floppy to poke things well.

Naka sighed and tossed the leaf aside, glancing around once more. And then he spotted it. Just lying in the path, illuminated in a patch of sunlight sparkling through the leaves was a stick. He whooped and ran over to pick it up. "Look, now I have one too!" he said, brandishing it proudly.

A combee was buzzing through some trees. Hearing a loud cheer, he poked his multiple heads out in curiosity...
Jubilee still somehow manage to keep an eye on her surroundings. Spotting the combee, she immediately shifted her attention to the bug-type. "Hi!" she greeted with excitement coating her tone, she bounced up and down on her small feet and waved her hands and her stick.
Dangit Jubilee, you're using metronome without even knowing it again.

Jubilee suddenly jumped high into the air and landed on the combee. The togepi started clapping her hands, obviously having no idea of what just happened; all she knew that that was fun. Really fun.
Unfortunately she didn't know she knocked the poor curious combee out.

Another Bug had heard the noise and come to investigate. A Butterfree weaved through the trees towards the explorers, and soon was within Naka's sight.
Unfortunately, he was too focused on his friend to notice the butterfly. It looked at the intruding pokemon, decided they weren't worth the trouble, then turned and just flew away.
