Chase had never faced the issues Howl had, because he did not have a feminine facial structure. His father's fearsome presence could have played a part in it too; often resulting in people shying away from him whenever the man was around and opting not to speak even if they would question. Samuel often unnerved people without having to even speak. He could not related to the squire and likely would not care to.

"Hardly, you look like a fairytale gone wrong," he spat back.

His eyes flickered from his opponents to their tangled weapons. Nysa's saber caught in the crook of his scythe, pushed by the weight and the downward direction of his weapon to rest at the base where the blade met the staff. He could have sworn he saw sparks where the saber slid across the blade's underside. He pushed back against lifting force; using one hand at first before sliding his hand upward so his other could join. He pushed down in retaliation, though he thought of suddenly pulling back occurred to him. He had decided that he would not give Nysa what he wanted, which was to let his weapon slice upward.

No, it would stay down.

The envious said the most ugly things.

The insult hardly phased Nysa, but the force being put into the opposing force was having much more effect. Brute strength was never the strength of the Neptunian Squire. Speed and grace were always his allies, and at the moment they could do nothing to assist him.

He didn't even dignify the insult with a reply back and maintained the same serious expression he had been wearing for the majority of the bout. However, a thin layer of sweat seemed to start beading up on his skin as he began to pour all of the strength he could muster into just keeping the weapon steady at the current level it was at. The two weapons began to tremble from the two opposing forces guiding them, though the scythe seemed to remain far steadier in comparison to the Quill of the Ocean.

You need to do this... for.... the Princess...

With the last remaining strength he had, he attempted to put his full force into raising the sabre.

Instead, a rather noticeable cracking sound trembled into the air. A pair of teal eyes grew wide and soon enough fell upon the failing Quill.

...No...

Labyrinthite was gifted in the sense that negaverse agents were typically stronger than the white moon, he was also gifted in fact that he worked tirelessly to strengthen his muscles. His frame was still wiry from his terrible eating habits but the muscle in his arms showed plainly as he focused on keeping his grip steady and certain.

He didn't miss the gleam of sweet building on Nysa's exposed skin. Nor did he miss the sickening cracking sound. It brought a dark smile on his lips as his gaze snapped to examine the squire's face. Eyes always betrayed even the most stony of expressions.

The cracking sound continued to pierce the otherwise quiet air.

And then the Quill of the Ocean shattered.

Labyrinthite fell forward as the saber fell through the air, slamming into the ground and reverberating a sound not unlike glass shattering against the ground. He watched, the tip of his blade connecting with the ground, as it further shattered upon impact, fraying into a thousand tiny pieces littering the roof they stood on.

Disbelief flickered across his features before he turned to the now, mostly, defenseless squire. His wicked grin broadened as he straightened himself, pulling on the hem of his coat. "Such a pity," he cooed twirling his weapon before swinging at the squire's abdomen.

He was not kidding about shedding blood.

...No...

His gloved hand clung onto the hilt of his weapon, though it was now significantly lighter than it was before. Though he was truly attempting to hide the shock of it all, his hand definitely was trembling as it desperately gripped the shell.

He didn't say a word at all. What could he even say? The words wouldn't even form within his brain in a coherent manner. He was in complete disbelief that the Quill of the Ocean was no more.

What is a knight without his weapon?

It was the only stray thought to find a place in his mind before the sudden realization that there was pain along his mid-section.

He had been so fixated upon the fact he no longer had a weapon that he completely missed out on the fact that the Captain had lashed out once more, easily swiping the scythe's blade against his abdomen. His usually pristine uniform was already soaked with his own crimson. The Squire staggered back, pressing his white glove upon the pained area, causing his gloves to absorb some of the same rich color escaping him.

Death

This was all he could see as the outcome for a brief moment or two, the word clouding all he could hear.

The only thing that seemed to allow the Squire to regain any sense of confidence was the glint of the golden ring upon his own hand.

Use it.

He didn't know how it would work or what he actually needed to do, but the stray thought was all he had left now.

With that, the Squire's eyes closed, accepting whatever fate was in store for him. The remains of his weapon faded as his eyes finally closed, almost as if he was completely resigning himself to the Captain.

The darker side of the man behind Labyrinthite often shone brightly when death called. Once, the young man had an aversion to killing or taking the life of another but that time had long past and now he felt little to no remorse when it came to murder. It was all in the name of the Earth, he did not kill for fun but he had no qualms about killing ruthlessly. Senshi and the Knights that stood beside them would be systematically removed.

As far as he was concerned, they were hardly people and even less human.

They didn't belong.

He let Nysa stumble back, pride swelling in his chest at the rich crimson color that coated his chest. He would be merciful when it came to snatching life from the squire. He would do it with one blow, a clean cut, then he would retrieve the man's starseed while the body still bled. A bit morbid, but he hardly batted an eye now a days.

"Death is at your door," he said. He took both hand and moved forward swinging in a wide but quick arch. He meant to behead him.

One gloved hand went to touch the ring upon the other as his eyes remained closed. All it took was a mere touch, and suddenly something seemed to happen to the bleeding Squire.

Before the Negaverse Agent's eyes, the Neptunian Squire's whole body seemed to glisten like he had been submerged in the ocean and the shadows were rippling off his being. It was dazzling and very fitting for a lad such as Nysa.

With a half smile, despite his wound, he opened his teal eyes and looked to the young man who was prepared to swing at him.

"I think I will decline the invitation, Captain."

With a mysterious sort of ease, Nysa seemed to almost roll back like a wave at the beach with a simple leap back. The boost which the wonder upon Neptune was giving him at the moment was all he needed to clear his head at the moment. If he remained any longer, he'd be dead, and a dead knight was a lot less useful than a weaponless knight.

Fluidly, he bound forward, but rather than engaging with the Captain further, he literally leaped down almost like a wave crashing back onto the beach.

It wouldn't be long before Nysa hit the streets and continued to flee, almost seeming to flow like the water in a current. Eventually once things seemed to be relatively safe, he powered down. Thanks to the commercial district, he was able to find a shop that he could slip into in an effort to "blend in." However, to spare the other patrons from the sight of him bleeding through his shirt, he made his way to the bathroom to hide for a bit.

He was alive. However, he didn't feel like he had much to celebrate.
