Oh, Caelia had met many things and many people, but a host had not been one of them. "Oh ?" So this wasn't her aunt, not really ? How strange. Oh well, Caelia had already decided Alva was family, no matter if she liked or not. "That's very nice of you."
"Umm." Underworld, Underworld... She'd heard that before, hadn't she ? Ah ! "Hn-n, dad said he has a brother that's Underworld. I don't know where he is, though." What had been his name again ? He'd been mentioned to her a few times, both by her father and her mother, as well as in conversation she had overheard, but with no face to match with the name the child clearly struggled with remembering it.

Nergal
The name was spoken clearly, very clearly. Alva smiled at the little goddess again, it was funny to think they had these elaborate family trees. Just like humans, brothers and sisters and children. “She says Nergal is his name.” Alva replied. There was certainly interest on the part of the goddess. “Is he here somewhere too?”
Valyrmora wanted very much to know the answer to that question. He must have been reborn, without underworld how could Ankou and the Valkyries be productive? But if the child had not met him ... maybe some did not change from their old ways. What became of them then?

Oh, yes ! "Nergal, yes. That's it !"
As for where her uncle was.... She would look back and forth as they entered the kitchen. Her mother had not seemed to catch up with them so far. "This is a secret, kay ?"
She would scramble off to sit on a stool. "I caught mom and dad talking one night before dad left." Clearly this was not something she had been supposed to know. "They don't know. Something about the Underworld still being there but him not answering dad, or Aunt Echo." Which was not something she understood. "Dad has to do everything and he said he was sorry and mom said it was okay."

Alva could not help but be wowed by the kitchen, it was like nothing she had ever seen before. Her family lived in a fortified tower, it had a room that was both their living area and kitchen. They cooked over an open fire and ate from trenchers. Food was simple, stews, meat and vegetables, fruit if they were lucky. Here she was surrounded by things she did not recognise. She almost didn’t notice the girl’s cautious glances. Turning her attention back to her she stayed standing and listened.
So Nergal had been re-born, but he was not around, or available. The goddess did not miss the fact that an Aunt Echo was mentioned ... the name did not ring a bell. So Ankou was working alone mostly.
“What do you mean your dad has to do everything?” She asked softly wandering over to one of the appliances and peering at it curiously.

"Well, dad find spirits, you know ? He said that when people die they don't really... stop existing so much as become something different." Really, the whole thing was puzzling for even her, and there she was trying to explain it. "They become spirits and for them to become people again he has to take them to one place, but they're all over the worlds, so he has to find them first. Sometime they're too weak and they can't do that right away, so he had to make sure they wait long enough. Then he has to take them where they go to be people again. Dad says it's very important that this is done because many people died and he has to get them back in 'the circle'." Whatever that actually meant. "So dad isn't here often. He has to do alllllll that. And train the valkyries. They don't remember how to be valkyries so they can't help until they do."
Caelia pouted. "I wanted to be a valkyrie and help, but dad said I couldn't, and Nath won't train me."

A world wanderer, spirit gatherer, they had such a god among her people, he was nameless, people did not dare to give him a name. Alva poked at the stove, wondering what it was used for and turned back to the young goddess. "Iyes ... no Sanngrigor is a Valkyrie, she can help him. She is very strong." she took a seat next to the girl "I am sure they have a good reason not to train you, you are a goddess yourself with Augry to take care of." She leaned her arms on the table. "Your aunt can help him too, I can help."

"But I want to help. It's not fair that he has to do all these things. He wants to spend time with us, I know he does. But he can't stay here as much as he wants to. I think he's scared of something... But I dunno what." Yes, Caelia was more perceptive than her dad knew, or probably would have liked.
The sound of hooves coming down the hallway would make the girl quiet.
"My apologies." She had come as soon as she had been called by her lord, though the explainations had taken a bit of time. "Please, feel free to take a seat as well." She would get the stew heating up quickly enough.

Within her host Val would feel for the young goddess. Ankou had done well for himself, clearly. The child's concern endeared her, maybe she would teach her a few things when she was able.
Alva however felt a little uncomfortable, what was she supposed to say to the girl? How could she help her father if he didn't want her to help? She was rather glad when the other being entered ... though she was not any less unsettling, she had goat legs! Alva sat and watched her with interest. "Are you a god too?" She asked, the goddess within her seemed amused.

Caelia did not seem to mind the silence that fell in between them, or that Alva had no idea what to say. It was more about talking, honestly - the little goddess was certain that she would find a solution to her 'problem' eventually. She just needed to think and think and think until she figured it out.
Alva's question would make Caelia giggle. "No, she's an aoide !" As if that explained everything.
Anima would rummage though the refrigerator for the leftover stew, and put the pan back on the burner to warm back up. "No, I am not. I am aoide, as the young lady said - a servant."

"Oh." Alva replied, watching the strange woman. She went to a closet that had a light inside, it made a funny noise too. "What's that?" She asked pointing to it, then watching as she put a pan on the other appliance. "Oh, that's to cook things?" Intrigued, she stood up and walked over to the stove. "In my family we cook over a fire. This is very strange."

"That's a fridge !"
"Refridgerator." Anima would gently correct.
"Same thing !" Caelia would pout. Ah well. "Oh, there's a ton of people in the market who do that !" And it was so tasty when they did. It just tasted a little different. "But we can't do that inside here. The whole kitchen would catch fire !" And that wouldn't be good at all.
Caelia's expression would turn mischievous, as Anima busied herself with the meal. A tiny hand would reach into the jar that stood in the middle of the table and pull out a chocolate chip cookie. "Here." She whispered. "Try that~"

"Caelia. Put that back." Cosine's voice came from the doorway of the kitchen, she had spoken to Ankou then gone to find Zeta and Zero to tell them to set a room up for the new young woman. "You know no cookies before dinner. And apologise to Anima for giving her cheek." She gave her daughter the eyebrow raise of doom and walked into the kitchen. Someone had to tell her no.
"Refridgerator." Alva repeated with interest and watched the lady heat the stew on the stove. "Yes I suppose it would catch fire." She replied, walking back over to the table. "We have a chimney, the smoke goes out the chimney." She watched the little girl as she reached into the jar and smiled back as she was handed the round thing, she quite liked this girl, she liked her spark. The stern voice however would make her jump.
No cookies, that's no fun.

Alva wouldn't be the only one to jump - Caelia had certainly never seen her mother coming ! She would pout a bit, but put the cookie back. She knew no amount of arguing would make things flip back in her favor. When she had certainly tried, when she was younger.
With her father, she probably would have gotten her way. With her mother, not really.
"Kay, Sorry, Anima."
"That is alright." Anima was certainly well-used to such things by now.
"Can we go show the market to Alva later ?" Caelia would lift herself back up on her stool.

Anima might be used to it, but Cosine would not have her children being disrespectful to people. They might be gods but that did not mean they had to be rude. She smiled as Caelia apologised and went to the fridge to get some drinks for them all.
"We certainly can, tomorrow perhaps? After she has had a nice long rest."
Alva took a seat back at the table and looked at the jar of cookies, surely they were very special things if they were forbidden and coveted. She wanted to try one when she was allowed. "I like markets." She said, raiding thim perhaps but she wasn't about to admit that readily.

She had hoped for tonight, but the hint to the fact that Alva was tired would keep her from mentioning that fact. It wasn't fun to be dragged somewhere when you were tired !
In perticular, that made Caelia grumpy. She didn't want her new aunt-friend to be grumpy. "Kay. I think you'll love it, Alva."
