Well, he would certainly have his advantages if he wasn't squeamish around slugs and snails. She was fine with snails, but when it came to slugs she often lost quite a bit of her composure. She was rather fortunate that there was rarely anyone around to hear her squeals or unladylike curses - but gods they were just so slimey, it wasn't their fault but it still made them icky.

"Oh good, they're not exactly my strong suit," she admitted and motioned towards the cave that he should have been familiar with; he may not have seen it in a while but it was still the way he had left it. "But you should get some rest," she advised gently, a tentative but warm smile creeping onto her lips.

Admittedly the apologies to her parents would be a touch awkward, but for now her immediate concern was rebuilding her own relationship with him. She wanted him to herself, to find out exactly what had happened and what he had done. Only when she had thoroughly monopolized him would she finally take him back to her parents, then they could have that discussion together...
