HP: 0Marcial hated him. He hated all cursed but he hated this one even more. After beating Rillian, he had come after him again and even though the priest tried his best, he wasn't able to best him. Close was not good enough. He did his best to dodge, but the kick landed at his temple. He was down and couldn't get up. "I'll.... I'll make you pay for hurting Rill..." He mumbled, obviously defeated.

"Oh, sure...and I suppose you have another hubby who's gonna make me pay for hurting you too?" He chuckles, and heads over to where Rillian's undoubtedly hiding under a table. He pokes him. "Looks like you need a new hubby to protect you better. Maybe I should hang around for a bit, hm? See if any other scary invaders come around?" He guffaws, and leaves the poor sap alone, before going back over to Marc and squatting down next to him. "Sorry, had to prove you wrong about the whole 'not laying a finger on him' thing. But it's ok. I think I love you more anyway." He leans down to give Marc a kiss right on the lips, before finally getting up to leave them alone.

 From the moment Marc had pushed him out of the way, Rillian had crawled under a small table to hide. He wasn't brave normally, but Axel had beaten him badly last time. That made him even more afraid of the Cursed. The battle went badly for Marc, and that final teasing poke from Axel had Rillian squeaking in alarm. He was ashamed when he crawled out after the Cursed left. Carefully he made his way over to his husband. "Marc...Marc... Are you okay Marc?"

"That filthy... Cursed creature..." He mumbled, feebly wiping any traces from his lips. Rillian didn't need anyone but him to protect him. He would surely come across him again. Marc would see to that. He looked up at Rillian when he came near, giving him a small smile. "I'm sorry... I wasn't strong enough to beat him." He felt like Rillian deserved better than him right now.

Rillian still looked upset even as he watched Marc. Carefully he reached out to gently touch his cheek. "It..it's okay...you kept him from hurting me at least?" He tried to add a positive note to the whole battle. he hesitated, then whispered softly. "Here. Let me get that for you" He said before leaning in to try and kiss Marc on the lips gently.

"That isn't good enough." He mumbled before Rillian kisses him. "But I feel better already." He struggled to sit up and face his husband. Marcial placed his hands on his staff and looked over it calmly. "He didn't hurt you did he?" He gave Rillian a worried look over, making sure everything was intact. "I'll have to do some more training." He chuckled a bit. "You know, the boys will have my skin if I don't beat him." He gave a long sigh. He didn't want his sons fighting his battles.

Rillian's head shook lightly from side to side. He reached a hand up and fuzzed with his glasses for a moment. "No. No. He didn't even really touch me other then a poke." He stated. Rill scooted himself around so he could sit next to Marc. "Uriel and Kerwin are good boys. And gifted. I am sure they would be thinking more along the lines of a family beat down for that cursed then believing it was fighting your battle for you."

"Still..." Marcial fiddled with his staff. "He touched you just to spite me. He heard what I said." He leaned his aching head on Rillian's shoulder with a smile. "If that's what they have in mind, I might be a bit happy." He looked up at the librarian, "But I still need to protect you and not get beat down while trying." His hand found itself reaching for Rillian's. "What kind of a priest am I if I can't protect the one I love?"

Rillians hand wrapped gently around in marc's when he took hold of it. A very faint smile touched his cheeks. "It makes you a determined one. You did protect me, and I know you will again if you need to But for now..how about I get you to the cot to rest? I'll even tuck you in."

Marcial squeezed Rillian's hand gently. "It would be wonderful if you could do that for me." He lifted up his head to look at Rillian. "You can take care of me for now and I'll return the favor by protecting you again." All he wanted was for Rillian to be safe. "Hey..." He paused, looking at the entrance to their tent. "How about when this war is over and we're not busy, we take a little vacation?"

With Marc's acceptance of his offer, he reached a arm out to try and help his husband to his feet. The cot was on the other side of the tent, which was bad because it meant he had to have Marc walk all that way. Yet it was good, as it was one of the corners that had not been damaged in the fighting. When Marc would mention a vacation, Rillian's wings flickered on his back in surprise. "Oh..but..Marc...what about the library? Who would watch over it?"

Marc slowly made it to his feet with Rillian's help, grunting in pain. He shuffled closer to the cot which seemed so far away them. He smiled a bit, thinking about who would watch them. "If Uriel isn't busy. Maybe he'd be willing to take over for a few days?" He smiled at Rillian softly, "I think you deserve a vacation every once in a while."

Rillian allowed a small smile to touch his lips as he helped Marc to the cot. Once he was sitting down he could let his husband lay himself down on his own. Rillian drifted away to fetch a thin blanket, and after a moment of thought he began to dig into a travel bag from under the cot. "I suppose I could ask him. I would consider asking Kerwin as well but I think he's distracted with his husband."

Marc was grateful for Rillian. He lay let, trying to put his mind at ease. "I wonder when Uriel will find that special someone." He commented absentmindedly. He'd like for his to have someone special in his life. He watched Rillian for a moment before his eyelids felt a bit heavy. He laid back down and stared at the wall of the tent.

Rillian gently tucked Marc in and his ears twitched slightly. "If he takes too long, we can always pray to Antar to set him up like with Kerwin. I doubt he'd ever have chosen a partner otherwise." Rillian leaned over to kiss Marc's cheek then, as it seemed his husband was ready to rest. As he did so, he set the little lion plushie on the cot next to him. After all, what better protection while one was healing up then the Nemian Lion of the Darkness Library?
