She almost wished she hadn't opened her mouth. His eyes took hers and she felt like she had fallen in to a trance whilst staring in to them. They were intimidating. More so when he was up close, like this, than when he was at the other side of the stream.
Biting her lip, she pulled away from his gaze and looked at the waters surface. Looking at both of their reflections. She wasn't sure what possessed her to do such a thing, probably the feeling of being intimidated by a creature much bigger than she was, but she flicked her tail quickly and watched as the water splashed Crow.
Giggling away.
"Oooh I'm sure they will be!" She chimed, flashing him a rapidly growing cheeky grin as she side stepped away from him.

He blinked as he was splashed, two could play at that game and his tail with its spade tip would do so more effeiciantly than her hair tail, but he didn't do things like that. Then again she had been afraid if him, he had seen it for a moment. Part of him thrilled at that, he had not gone out of his way to scare her but she was afraid. nother part felt a pang of lonelyness. "Indeed." His word quiet, shaking himself a little to dispurse the water that she had splashed him with.
His eyes on her again, not chasing after her, just watching fro his blank eyes before looking away. "You still have a little between your wings but you are otherwise clean." Not adding she was rather lovely as well, at least he thought so, and as he thought so he should probably leave her alone. Kalonas were not an overly romantic bunch after all and that blood was within him.

Luana couldn't help but feel a touch of disappointment when he didn't take the bait and splash her back. She frowned a little, the only thing she could do while she watched him shake off the liquid from his coat. She decided to do the same with her hair to try get it to fluff out and find it's natural flare as it dried but it didn't budge much.
"Thank you again. It was very nice of you to help me clean up." She looked over her shoulder to try spot the mud that was still between her wings. Why hadn't he tried to clean that part too? She felt silly when the idea that he may of thought he would hurt her or damage her wings if he had of attempted the feat came to mind.
She fluttered her wings some in an attempt to crumble away what was left of the mud there and shook her head carefully. "It should be fine at least the majority is gone now, all thanks to you."
She leaned forward and nuzzled his cheek in appreciation of his act of kindness.

He couldn't help it, it was like a little demon that chirped in his ear. He held still as she leaned in, feeling her nuzzle. His tail shifted and the heartshaped tip lifted quickly, sending a good dousing of water right on to her. His blank eyes twinkling a little as he tilts his head, giving a small nudge with his nose so that he could clean that last bit of mud away from between her wings.
Nodding when she was clean, eyeing her wings again, they were so delightfully dainty. "There, the mud is gone, you are just a little bug now my lady." Inclining his head to her, his tail circling a little, the heart on the end visible, not as intimidating as a normal kalona tail.

She wasn't expecting the wave of water and let out a small, playful scream when it hit her having to lift up her front leg to keep her balance. She feared she would have fallen over and fully in to the pool otherwise.
Realizing it was only so he could clean between her wings she settled back in to her original stance and waited whilst he cleared the remaining mud that was between them.
"That I am! All better now." She nods to agree with him and flutters her wings more quickly when he referred to them to show their newly found freedom. She looked to his tail as he moved it around and then looked to those eyes she was so fascinated by.
She was starting to believe he was a gentle giant regardless of how his eyes portrayed him sometimes. Like a defense mechanism of sorts. "What are you crow?" Her voice was quiet as she moved towards his tail to take a closer look.

Stood still, watching as she inspected his tail, turning his head to look at her as she did. "What do you mean, What am I?" Not sure if she was asking a superficial breed question or a deeper emotional question. His blank eyes lacking in emotion as ever, but there was nothing to give them depth, though they could seem softer like clouds, hard like rock or cold like snow. At the moment they were a little softer, and if the way he was looking at her was any clue he was curious.
His tail flicking a little, giving her a little splash of water into her face as she peers at his tail, a light smirk on his lips.

Lu looked over at him with a smile. "I mean how come you have scales, horns and a tail?" She looked back at his tail only to be greeted with another wave of water. She giggled and closed her eyes as it hit her, pulling her head back she wriggled her nose and shook her head. Opening her eyes slowly.
She grinned, turning her gaze to his attention once more and lifted her back leg closest to him, stamping it in to the water to splash him in return.
He was very confusing, first he didn't want to play and then he did. He made himself out to be very mysterious and she liked the fact he wasn't predictable. It made him fun to be around, even if he barely said much at times. His actions told the rest of the story.

He shook himself off after his second splashing, turning to leave the water, showing her the easy way out the pond he had created. "My father was kalona, he lived here and this is where I grew up, my mother was kirin. The tail is from my father, teh scales from my mother and both breeds have horns." He was a mix, he knew it, he lacked things that would mark him more clearly as either breed. Having a shake when he was on the bank, his jewlery seeming none the worse for wear from the dunking that they had.
Looking round at her. "I do not know if that is what you were hoping to know, but that is how it is." Half expecting her to make an excuse and leave now, most having a bad opinion of Kalona and he could not blame it, he had those moments when he wanted to indulge his kalona side and it generally didn't involve being kind to others.

Unfortunately, she didn't know much about the breeds he spoke of but that may have been a blessing on his part. Both of her parents had lived relatively sheltered lives and because of that didn't have much light to shed on these matters. It was one of those things she would have to figure out for herself.
She lifted her ears and listened to him, trying to follow and keep up with who had what traits but was that supposed to mean something more than just a twist to his appearance. She had a feeling there was something more she needed to know about these breeds with what he said next and she narrowed her brows together in the middle of her forehead to show she was perplexed.
She took the only approach to the conversation that she could. "I'm glad your father was a Kalona. If that is why you continue to live here because this is where you grew up." She smiled following him out of the pool and watching as he shook himself off. She simply allowed herself to remain damp. It wouldn't make much different if she shook herself off, considering her neck tie / cape wouldn't dry off so easily.
Funny how it hadn't occurred to her to take it off first.
"If it weren't for that I wouldn't have met someone as kind as you." She added. Even if she had of known what a Kalona was, he hadn't given her any reason not to trust him and would have continued to do so knowing in reality he was a gentle giant.

He couldn't help himself, he just stared at her somewhat dumbstruck... She was glad his father was kalona... She thought he was kind... This one was not safe to be let out alone, to not know to be afraid of him at all with the information he had given her was a great failing to his thinking.
Shaking his head he turned away, and sighed, not wanting to make her afraid but thinking she should know how wrong she was. "Those are things you should not be glad of... A spade tail, horns like mine, some have batlike wings... Kalona are dangerous and cruel, not kind and not something to be glad of." Not having meant to lay it on so heavy, but she should know that he wasn't kind, he had never been kind. He wasn't even sure why he had don'e more than tolerate her, hell he would usually have chased another off who came so close to his home.

Luana's ears fell back at his stare. She had said something wrong, done something wrong, again..? She stared back at him like a deer caught in headlights and kept her stare fixated on his. Listening when he corrected her.
She turned her head away from him, lifting one of her front hooves to nervously pork at the ground. Watching the sloppy mud scrape in to a small pile on the ground beneath her. Moist from the water dripping from them.
"What your saying, is that I shouldn't trust you because you're dangerous?" She lifts her head when she says this and sighs gently. "You haven't acted violently against me so far and have shown me nothing but-" She paused, fumbling her lips to the side as she decided on how to put it. "Patient with me."
She smiled at him again. "Aren't they good traits? What about the Kirin side of you? Isn't that good vs evil?" She shook her head carefully, chuckling. "How do you know that it isn't the most dominant blood that is in your veins?"

He moves closer, invading her personal space even more than when he helped her was, his voice low and husky, almost suducted though it wasn't supposed to be. "How I act and how I wan't to act are not always the same." Stood looking down at her, thinking it had been a mistake to help her clean, she was lovely and it was making him disinclined to listen to the better parts of his nature.
Stepping back slowly, putting a fair amount of space between them he took a breath and spoke again. "You are better off staying away from me, good does not always win out against evil and evil delights in sweet innocent beings like you fallling to their influence." He had never really tested his control before, never been tempted like he was now. He doubted his father had troubled himself with such thoughts before he had stolen his mother away to be his. It was a curse, he was enough his mothers son to not want to hold a mare as his mate agaisnt her will, but he was too much his fathers son at the same time.
Finally turnning away from her, looking back towards his home. Silently giving her chance to leave. Thinking he could just walk away, but his legs were being uncooperative at that moment.

Luana didn't move as he closed the gap between them because she couldn't. She was too focused on thinking why he was moving closer and what he was going to do as he drew nearer and was then close enough that she could feel his breath on her skin. It felt warm, comforting but at the same time it made her a little nauseous. She was nervous.
She swallowed a hard lump in her throat, words that she was desperately trying to find vanished from thought and all she could do was stand there and search his eyes for any inclination of his intentions. He moved off and she took in a deep breath, letting it out slow. The words coming back now when she wished they had found her sooner.
He looked uncomfortable, strained by something. In the way he stood, the way he moved like he didn't know where to put himself. It was a threatening sight to see him turn away, she didn't want him to leave, not just yet. Whether he was trying to purposely get rid of her by scaring her or not with his heritage, she still didn't believe he was going to harm her.
Now she was in a mental battle, one she knew would last for a good while, getting them nowhere. She pushed thoughts aside and decided acting on instinct was the best thing. It pushed her from her hooves and she trotted from her current spot around to his front. Stopping in his path.
"Don't leave." She shook her head and eyed him carefully. Lowering her head to stare up at him. "I find myself trusting you, whether that is an intelligent thing to do or not, I wouldn't disregard it just yet." She smiled warmly. "I enjoy your company and I would like to keep it. Lets just call it occasional mood swings and leave it at that. Everybody has them."

He found himself looking down at her again, sighing and hanging his head, he could walk away, he could but she was making it rather hard to want to. So while it grated a little he gave in. "I'm not sure I'd make a good friend." The idea was new to him, he didn't really have friends.
Lifting his head enough to look at her again, he asked with a somewhat resigned tone. "What do you want of me?" He personally thought this was madness, and asking for trouble but he also figured that it was her life to do with as she pleased.

"None sense!" She squeaked with excitement, lifting her head to full height again. She was glad he was giving friendship a chance. What was the point going about life alone, with nobody, just because inner turmoil was holding you back. It wasn't worth being lonely, who would remember you? How much would you regret?
She would never understand it because as far as she was aware, she didn't have the same blood running through her like he had. It must have been painful, to worry about your own actions even subconsciously every day and that you may hurt someone, those close to you because of it.
Her eyes gleamed with joy. There was so many possibilities. Things they could do. The problem was, she was now put on the spot and picking something from the variety of things they could do, wasn't an easy task.
"Umm..." She paused, looking to the stream then to the forest at the other side where he had appeared from. "Why don't you give me a tour of your home? I always wondered what was over there, if it was any different from this side of the stream." She looked at him expectantly though she wasn't sure if that was as much of a thrilling adventure than he was expecting.
