Emeora Emeora nodded in agreement as she was pulled out of the coral they were hiding in. She felt weak and vulnerable now, floating out in the open with nothing but her thoughts filling her mind, but she thrust the ill feelings away. She forced herself to be strong now, and her expression hardened, her once bright violet eyes and smile dissipating into nothing more than two hollow and dull orbs and a firm line. She wasn't going to be the one who dragged down Sirenity and caused her death. No, not after realizing her whole family was no doubt infected with whatever disease was plaguing the seas. She flicked her tail and slowly looked around to make sure nothing was coming before she followed after Sirenity. "Don't worry, we can make it there without being caught. We just need to stay close to the sea floor and continue hiding in the coral. The infected seem slow enough and incapable of seeing us." She followed close behind her friend and stayed just a few inches from the floor, her tail brushing the sand and rocks as she swam by. When they passed by her room again she quickly darted in to grab the necklace Sirenity gave her before heading back to her friend's room, waiting patiently just outside. Before Sirenity was done grabbing her things Emeora saw a merman in the distance, though he didn't notice her, swimming a little funny, but otherwise normal. He was clutching his side and she realized a light amount of blood was seeping from between his fingers into the water around him. "Sirenity, there's one out here, hurry," she whispered while ducking behind the coral.
(Don't worry, Circ, we'll get you interacting with us soon enough!~ ;3 )

~*~~*< Sirenity Pearl >*~~*~ "The more sparkly it is..." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Sirenity glanced back when Emeora spoke, seeming to be reassuring herself more so than anything with the way she worded it. Sirenity made a half smile, that was fine with her. Em needed to be strong...they both did. Now was not the time for fear and weak thoughts. Sirenity herself was a little down, fighting back the urge to hit something and sob on the flor right there, but she kept moving, only slowing when Emeora fetched the necklace she had given her from her room. When they finally arrived at hers, she slipped int through the window and looked around. "Hmmm...." she pondered for a moment before grabbing a large brown sachel she had seen floating down from a boat. She emptied out the old food that had been in it and threw in some random items she thought might be useful. First a large magnifying glass she found in the drawer of the captain's quarters in a sunken ship, followed by a silver compass that had an odd crest on the back of it. She then opened a nearby tiny treasure chest and dug out all the gold coins, placing them in a tiny black sack along with some precious loose gems and pearls. You never know when you would have to bribe your way out of a situation. The final thing she grabbed was the long sheathed dagger on her small vanity. The handle lined with sapphires and had a shiney gold hilt. The sheath was black with emerald designs she couldnt make out and had a small tie where she was able to attach it to her sachel's strap, letting it hang on the outside just in case she needed it. "Alright, I'm ready." she said, then looked up when Emeora spoke of someone outside. She looked out beside her to see the merman. He wasn't far...and wasn't fully infected. There was no doubt in her mind he was on the verge of hunger...and fast enough at this point to catch them. "This way." she whispered and swam out the window quietly, making a sharp turn past the coral, only hoping the merman did not see them yet. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "...The more I want it!"

Life afterall, began with the sea, shouldn't it be the source of our ultimate demise as well? His thoughts drifted away, lost in the currants as they often did now. The future grew more bleak every passing moment. The past however, shined brighter than ever. He found fondness in distant memories, even once painful ones warmed the coldness tearing away his waking moments... It felt like another life entirely, like a dream that never existed, he was once a determined desperate young man from the dustbowl, bound for greater horizons. Instead of wasting his life in breadlines as employment rates skyrocketed across the country, he had chosen a life away from the troubles of land, saling peacefully away under the wing of his beloved Captain. Rainer felt faint, how long had he been staring out that window? It felt like days, time was meaningless in a sea of darkness. Something stirred in the void, then glittered with finely spun gold, fins flowing like pure silk in the wind. Rainer grinned wickedly. "All hands prepare for attack. Enemy spotted underneathe the port bow.." he stated calmly over the intercom, causing a mad dash for the abled bodied men to assume their positions. Rainer watched the spectacle unfold below, savoring the look on the vile creature's face as she became entangled in the steel traps scaping the sea floor, originally used for ensnaring succulent crabbies. He sucked on the cig and savored the moment a silent scream escaped her lips. It was time. Eagarly, he snuffed out the cancer stick in a nearby crystal ashtray then snatched the heavy harpoon leaning near the doorframe. The heavy weapon was becoming familiar in his hands, getting to know a friend he supposed. The mermaid gasped as she was wretched into the chilled air, trapped within her steel coffin. Her melodic voice begged, promising treasures beyond his imagination, and more if he could only spare some mercy. How pitiful. He stood over her like a vulture, waiting for a bleeding animal to inhale its lasted pained breath. "I have no use for worldy possesions! They matter nothing in death! Your life is the only thing of worth that can sate me. I promise you, this is mercy." Wielding the harpoon with great force ftom his weakened body, Rainer impaled the sharp point down her throat, rpping it apart from the inside. Emeora Emeora stayed close behind her friend, her face mere inches from her sharp tail. They seemed to have made it past the coral without the merman noticing them, and she let out a breath of relief. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Her long tail was still billowing out in the open behind her and the merman saw her. He let out a screech and darted after them. She looked behind her and her eyes grew wide, her fingers brushing against Sirenity's tail. "Go, Sirenity, go! He's seen us!" She didn't hesitate to grab onto her friend's arm and began to propel herself as fast as she could away from the infected creature, though her friend would no doubt be dragging her in no time. It was relentless and didn't stop chasing after them, and Emeora wasn't sure what to do since they were getting slightly tired. Just then she saw a boat far off with a fishnet settled in the water. She pointed to it while trying not to slow down. "There, we can trap it in the nets!"

~*~~*< Sirenity Pearl >*~~*~ "The more sparkly it is..." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Sirenity swam silently past the coral, thinking as well that they had made it. Only when she heard Emeora's warning and the sudden shriek did she look back and see the merman tailing them. As quick as Em had grabbed her hand and began to swim, Sirenity already started flitting through the water, passing Emeora in no time and pulling her along through the water, making a good distance between them and the merman. She looked up when her friend spoke of a net and smiled. "Brace yourself!" she warned and turned, swimming straight for it. It looked as though she was intent on trapping them inside the net, but at the very last second she gave Em a harsh shove downwards, pushing her into the ocean floor just as the merman got within a few feet of them both. Sirenity turned in time to quickly swim up, allowing the savage mer to dart right under her and tangle straight into the net. With the same amount of speed, Sirenity quickly began to tie the net in any way possible, making the infected mer's binds even tighter with knots only spun by hand and secured tight. The poor merman thrashed and growled, trying to bite her hand as she triple knotted the top of the net before giving it a harsh tug, letting whoever was in the boat above know they had a catch. "Quick, we must go." she said as she swam down and helped Emeora out of the sand. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "...The more I want it!"

Emeora Emeora knew what her friend was doing, but still she was unsure of how she was going to play it out. Her eyes grew wide as they were heading straight for the net. She was definitely unprepared for Sirenity to shove her down with such great force. She was stunned as she laid in the sand, watching as the infected merman took the bait and swam right into the net. Sirenity quickly tied the net to make sure it wouldn't escape, but she felt a lump in her throat as she prayed that it wouldn't infect her. She was relieved that it didn't touch her and she was helped from the sand. She nodded and swam beside her friend. She glanced at the boat before heading in the direction that Sirenity had told them to go. "The human's will know of us now," she murmured in despair, not knowing that they had already been found out.

~*~~*< Sirenity Pearl >*~~*~ "The more sparkly it is..." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Sirenity dusted Emeora off gently with her tail as she helped her up, glancing up at the comment. "A little too late for that...for a while now." she said as she swam with her friend but stopped for a moment, going back near the city just to break off a piece of the sick coral to stuff in her bag. She then swam back and lead her friend away from the boat, both going east toward the secluded cave many miles away. A rather long journey for them both. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "...The more I want it!"

Draped around the creatures chest was an ornate jewel, that seemed alive with dancing colors, flickering and changing in the light sort of like a kaliedascope. An unrecognizable anchient laugauge was carved across the gold chain that kept it in place. Rainer was mesmerized, its hypnotic beauty was unlike anything he could describe. Carefully he snatched it from the corpse and examined it closer. He didnt notice the skies began to grow darker all around him. "Oi! Cappytain we're got a deadish one trapped in the nets! Its a feisty bugger!! A deckhand called. Rainer wrapped the treasure around his slender wrist, then placed the pendant inside of his glove, resting gently against the back of his hand to keep it safe. He then roughly shoved his boot down on the mermaid and savagly ripped his harpoon from its flesh and faced his adversary. Blood splattered on the deck, mixing with raindrops falling from overhead. His crew attempted to restrain the feral beast, but were knocked away as it thrashed onto the deck. It Ripped its jagged teeth into the net as it tried to free itself. Rainer almost slipped into its grasp as he lunged forward to slay the abomination. The winds grew forceful, rocking the boat hard, steeply sloping the deck. The undead merman, hungerly dug its claws into the old wood and pulled itself closer. Rainer stabbed the creature, barely missing a lethal blow. Out of the blue a sudden wave violently swept the both of them overboard. They two of them were sinking downwards into the depths. Rainer held tightly to the harpoon and fumbled for a daggar at his side. He couldnt let it escape, even if he never saw the surface again. Rainer was so focused on killing, he didnt even notice the faint golden glow coming from his hand... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ocean pulls me close And whispers in my ear The destiny I've chose All becoming clear The currents have their say The time is drawing near Washes me away Makes me disappear x x x x - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Emeora Emeora let her friend dust her off as she also brushed her fingers over her tail and fin, listening to Sirenity speak. She glanced up with wide eyes, horrified at the idea of humans knowing about them. "You mean...? But how? Was it when this sickness began?" Oh, this was not good. But then again... With everyone being gone with the infection then it might not be as bad, as long as they could escape into clear waters. "Never mind, let's just get going." She looked up to the surface and noticed that millions of tiny ripples were forming in the waves. "It's raining..." She lingered there for a moment before she went to her friends side as they quickly swam away. She didn't know where the place was they were going, but she hoped they could make it before nightfall.

~*~~*< Sirenity Pearl >*~~*~ "The more sparkly it is..." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Sirenity merely nodded a bit as Emeora seemed surprised of the humans knowledge of them. "That....and our kind has been hunted for years." she said as they swam away from the boat, looking up when she spoke of rain. "Maybe that's a good thing." she said as one last ray of the above world's sun shone down and casted her jewelry treasuresin a shining sparkle of gold, no doubtedly seen from several yards away, before a cloud shadowed it from view, leaving both mermaids to swim in the dark blue sea alone together. "Let it wash away the memories of our forgotten sea and clense the disease that spreads through our people...and the likes of every sea creature in the ocean." ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "...The more I want it!"
