Shhh Nuru, it can't hurt us from inside this guys head.
"Like what sorts of things?" Al inquired before nodding, "Yeah, we fight against the monsters that wanna hurt people."

"I don't know. Is it?" Lawrence replied, looking perturbed. He liked to think what lived in his head wasn't common at all. He could sleep a little easier at night knowing it wasn't. "And um. It talks about people things. Houses and places and things I'm sure dogs shouldn't know about."
He made an anxious face. "Oh um. What if we erm. Don't do the whole. Fighting thing?"

"Well, yours and mine. The only two I know of," he looked a bit concerned at Lawrs perceived annoyance about the whole thing. "What's the matter? Are you two not getting along?"
He looked bewildered for a moment just before he seemed to realize just what Lawr was implying. Al let out a boyish chortle, "Did no one to tell you where we got these weapons?"

"He is...friendly enough." Lawr hazarded, he wasn't sure he wanted to speak ill of the looming twisted creature in his head, for the time being it seemed optimistic and amiable, but even like that it made him nauseous with wrongness and terror. To have its mad gaze fixed upon him in anger... he didn't want to think about it. "But there are some issues."
He trailed his fingertips along the bangles at his wrists nervously before turning that keen startlingly light gaze on Al again. "No one told me anything."

Al watched Lawr silently fidget while looking quite uncomfortable. He couldn't put his finger on why that might be, but he saw it as an opportunity.
"Well, they aren't just weapons clearly. They were people."

"People?" he couldn't help but look puzzled by this statement. He was almost certain that that thing in his head had never been human. Perhaps a twisted parody of human, but there was a lot about it that felt canine, as canine as hot panting breath and intent stare, as canine as a smell that crept up before you saw it.

"Yes, people that have been ground up and reformed into weapons for our use. They are basically haunted weapons," Al quickly realized that it was hard to bullshit about the weapons when the reality alone was pretty ******** up.

"Haunted weapons." he eyed the watch on his arm and felt the creeping chill of disgust all over again. So it was a ghost? That would explain the wrongness, the chained and creeping horror that felt like it could rob him of his breath and freeze the blood in his veins. "Why do they do that?" It sounded needless and awful, and why the hell was he stuck chained to one?
"Is this some kind of science facility?"

Al couldn't believe it. Was Jan actually buying it?... Yes... yes he was. Al fought the desire to grin with all his teeth, managing to restrain himself to just a small eager smile.
"Sort of," Did he really not know where he was or what he was here for? "They're trying to make a bigger badder weapon. So like. Once you get strong enough with him? They'll grind you two together into a new weapon and pass it on." He waited expectantly for Jan's reaction.
