Kit's questions brought Candy so much mirth, that she practically spilled what was left of her beer. Funnel cakes? How silly! When Barley asked her specifically what she used, her chuckles died down, though the threat of joyful tears played at the corners of her blue eyes.
"Edible arrangements" she said, draining her bottle of liquid. "are like baskets of flowers, only instead of flowers I use fruits and veggies and the like. I've even used chocolate before!" she placed the bottle down in the sand before continuing. "Phonies order them for special occasions. Like when my half brother got married, I made blue baskets with chocolate music notes and his favorite fruits. On the side I sell the extra cookies and stuff in a shop attached to my house." She pulled open her saddlebag, revealing a container full of lemon meringue cookies mixed with good old fashioned chocolate chip.
"Here try some if you want!" she encouraged with a smile.

Kit totally missed what Candy was laughing at his suggesting of fried desserts. After all it was one of the best friend foods! But the large stallion listened as Candy explained her creations, fascinated by the fancy way she used food. At least the fruit part, maybe not so much the veggies. Despite his use of some greens in his food he wasn't fond of them, maybe except potatoes. Those were the most awesome veggies in the world! At the mention off the recent wedding Kit smiled brightly, "Oh yeah! My cuzin Draft's weddin! That was one hootin and hollerin' party! Though it was mostly Auntie Scent doin all the yelling." He smirked a bit at the thought. Then something Candy said hit him. "Half brother? Hmm...yeah suppose he is that. Lessee," he looked up a bit, his tongue sticking out as his brain began to work, "Draft is my cuzin from his Maw's side....and yew....is his sister....through his Paw's side...which means...um...." Poor Kit, you could almost see the smoke coming out as he tried to think. "Um....I like putting fruit on funnel cakes!" It was all he could say.

Barley blinked slowly down at her brother before taking an offered treat from Candy. She nibbled on it while Kit tried desperately to understand their family tree. "Mmm these are really good!"
She giggled softly, shaking her head at Kit and patting him on the head. "Me thinks we be somethin' like second cousins"

"Thank you!" she said, beaming with pride.
"That's right! Draft and Lullaby. That really was a good time!" she agreed, nodding. She too giggled when Kit tried to figure out their relation, if any, though in truth she couldn't figure it out herself. Thankfully Barley Pop was smarter than the both of them.
"Second cousins huh? So we aren't that related." she decided, tapping a hoof to her chin. Her other front hoof brought a cookie to her mouth, and she chewed thoughtfully.
"Funnel cake is really good with fruit!" she said suddenly, looking at the two siblings. "Probably really good with beer too! Tell me, do you guys ever work together on recipes. Like beer battered....well, anything!"

Kit shook his head again, poor thing wasn't much in the brains department despite their intelligent mother. He believed Barley got more of the thinking genes than himself. He nommed on his own cookie for a bit, enjoying the flavor and wondering if he could fry it. Then Candy asked about beer batter, to which he was more than willing to answer. "Why shore! Beer battered shrimp, beer battered catfish. Heck most the stuffs that comes from the ocean tastes good with a beer batter!" he smiled. He turns to look at his sister. "Popper here makes a special beer for me, full-o-flavor it is! More for making the batter than drinken," he explained. After all flavor was all important to the stallion, he loved to hear people compliment his food.

Barley nodded. "Yeah, it gots more flavor and a bit less alcohol, not meant to be drunk, really. A bit sluggy. Too much alcohol, and this boy would fire up his own brows!" She laughed softly, taking another beer. "I think if I let him, he would fry up some beer-battered beer-socked bread"
"Wouldn't be bad either." She grinned, patting her brother's shoulder. "I don't do much cooking, but I help when I'm asked"

Candy Dandy was aw'ed by the siblings in front of her. They got along so well, and seemed to spend a lot of time together. Candy didn't get that. Aside from seeing Boho every so often, the rest of her family was largely missing from her life.
"You guys are so lucky you get to be around eachother a lot." she said wistfully. "I wish me and my siblings got along like you!"

Kit grinned as Barley talked about her lack of cooking. He elbowed her a bit, "Oy Popper, yew remember that time when we fought over the kitchen. Tryin ta make Maw breakfast?" He chuckled at the memory of the huge mess they had made during the food fight. But looking back at Candy he saw the safe look on her face. "Aint yew and your kin friends? I mean, yew gots lots of kinfolk!" he smiled and patted her on the shoulder. "Maybe yew just need to get them together! Like a big ol' family gatherin!! Maybe we can 'range that for ya!" He looked to Barley, "What yew think Popper? Maybe we could make a big spread. Invite Auntie Scent and all them! Plus TACO!" He looked to Candy, "Yew can make the deesserts! Show all yer siblins how awesome yew are!"

"I still cannae believe we got that kitchen all clean up before mama woke up!" Barley chuckled and raised an eyebrow slightly. "Well, even if you dun get along with yer kin, you still got tons of cousins to have fun with! Like us!"
"Ya, sure, we can make up a bit of an old shindig, Nuthin' like a good food and good drink to make folk a little closer."

She was struck by their kindness. When Kit patted her shoulder, she smiled.
"I suppose they are all just busy I guess. It's been especially difficult after I grew up because I opened my shop and got busy. Hmm, maybe it was a little more her fault. Maybe she had to go find them!
When he mentioned a family gathering, her ears twitched. The sentiments were echoed by Barley, which made Candy's smile widen. A party! With all of her family!
"That sounds great!" she exclaimed, eyes sparkling. "A whole family reunion! And I can make some treats!" She knew she was basically echoing Kit's words, but the more she said, the happier she got.

Kit smiled and clapped his hooves. "Well alright! We gonna have us a big ol'shindig!! The whole family! We can invite everyone in the family!" Kit's mind, despite being slow on the uptake was excellent at planning parties. Not to mention he loved catering. He tapped his chin then took a swig of beer. "I know! Lets make it a big ol' barn dance!! We can invite all yer family!" he smiled, "We can invite Auntie Scent and all the kiddos! We can invite TACO and all his little ones. And Uncle Honey and all them! One big huge get ta together!" He smiled at Barley, "I can cook tha food, you can provide the drinks, and Candy here can make the deesserts! We got it all figured out!" he held up his beer, "To family!"

Candy too raised her beer to join the others above their heads.
"Can't wait to get started!" she said "To family!"
