Heidi's face took on a bit of strained tolerance to it as she quietly took her braids in her fists and pulled down on them. "Tuck is super chill, if you're worried he doesn't like you when he's telling me that's not the case, you should most definitely talk to him." In fact she was going to talk to him for Ro because holy crow.

When asked what her weapon was she relaxed, releasing her hair and summoning Matilda. "Ranged, Matilda is a recurve bow. But she's got blades on her which allows me to fend off people who get too close."

"Okay okay, I'll talk to him sometime. Just not right now." He pointed to the dummies, "Right now, we work off the chocolate bar we just ate because we both know that thing was not healthy."

But it was delicious.

"I can't really say much for bows, I used a few guns when I was off island because my dad was military, but those blades are a nice touch." Holding Sylvia in two hands he gave her a twist snapping the scythe in half a chain spilling out.

"Sylvia keeps saying, the best part about this change is she's more 'flexible'. That she can fight closer and farther now." He looked at the targets frowning, "Suppose throwing a scythe hook is a lot harder then using a bow though..." Giving the bladed end a few spins on its chain he snapped it out towards a dummy... far to the side and right into the dirt.

<< Oh my Jack how can you miss!? That dummies like five yards out you dork! >>

Roland winced at her objections.

Victory. "Excuse you, speak for yourself. Chocolate is a life blood for women, it keeps us going and fuels us throughout the day. It's why we need to eat so much of it. It is better for us than vegetables. You know nothing of my people, Ro." She felt better now. The topic of chocolate and training was much less frustrating than Ro being a brat about Tuck.

"My dad tried to teach me how to use a gun but his hunting rifles gave me a bruise in my shoulder, so he taught me how to use a bow and arrow instead. So Matilda's nice to have, I just have to work on my aim for moving targets." She then watched Ro break apart his scythe and swing it at the dummy. Even she winced when he missed. Harsh, bro.

"Maybe try not to be so sharp with the throw? Like...I dunno, I'm going off movie knowledge here so I could probably be completely wrong. What if you moved your arm with it? Like, using your whole arm and following the chain a little as you throw it?"

"Life blood and diabetes." He paused, "You think our weapons with super healing could stop something like that?" He looked at Sylvia, her blade laying in the dirt curiously for a moment as she huffed about not wanting to be left on the ground. "Well regardless, we can agree I know nothing of your people... cept they like chocolate."

Hand over ahnd he started to drag Sylvia back in who was still grumping at the disrespect. "If you can name a movie with a hero who has a weapon like this that would be awesome." He finally had her back in range and started to swing again lazily, "Dad didn't hunt, didn't have hunting rifles more like uhhh military grade? But not automatic, like the civilian semi auto kind. Just looked big and scary."

Turning to the dummies once more he followed her advice, when he released he continued to follow with his arm letting the chain feed through his fingers, the scythe arched in the air coming down towards the dummies shoulder and just as it got in range Roland gave the chain a sharp tug sticking the blade in the targets shoulder.

".....any other suggestions?" He looked at Heidi his face painted with clear surprise that that totally just happened and worked.

Whoa. It worked. Well..yeah! Of course it worked! She was a genius!

Heidi blinked. He wanted more ideas. Um..okay...

Uhhh...

"..Use...the chain? I dunno." She shrugged and pointed at the blades on Matilda's limbs. "Sometimes I can trip people with these."

"I don't think I can really, unless like I get it to wrap around them?" He started to pull the chain back in again before realizing the blade was stuck and he could pull no more. Tugging at it he tried to get the scythe to pop out the dummy.

"I could like, choke them out maybe? Stealth stuff? Probably something a Death Hunter would try." He continued tugging, "Leg sweeps, are amazing. Back when Sylvia didn't have her chain the best way to get out of a bad spot was to trip whoever I was fighting. Curved blades are great for that."

Tug tug tug.... tug!

He was going to have to rethink this tactic a bit.

"Yeah.." Heidi's brow furrowed as she watched Ro attempt to free his weapon. That..was going to end badly. If he tugged hard enough to free it, it could possibly hit one of them.

Namely her.

Heidi took a step back.

"I've never used a scythe before. I can trip people with Matilda but.."

He was still tugging. "Is...is that such a good idea?"

Roland kept tugging at the chain, the other half of his weapon still in his other hand as Heidi took a step back.

"Apparently the only other person on the island who has one is the crazy Death leader Caelius." Tug Tug Tug.

"Well I can't exactly walk over in the middle of a real fight and just pluck it out a monsters back right?"

<< You're terrible at this Roland, I've got it. >>

His weapon finally chimed in before giving the distinct impression she wanted him to shake the lower half of the scythe, he did so and Heidi's fears became somewhat true, the back end of the scythe jumped forward in his hand as it the chain started to be pulled back in, ripping the scythe out the dummy and sending it alarmingly fast back at the hunters.

"s**t!" He let go of his weapon, the two ends now in midair zipping at each other before snapping back together a few feet away from the hunters.

<< You didn't have to drop me! Why don't you trust me anymore Roland!? >>

He turned to look at Heidi with a frown, "I think my weapons gone insane."

"But I'd like to think a monster would help you get it out of their back by attempting to remove it themselves. It's just going to recoil and hit one of us like this..." Heidi said with a frown, backing away again.

She squeaked and held Matilda up in self defense as the blade went nuts and flew back at them just as she had predicted. Matilda huffed when Roland called his weapon insane. "Uh...I dunno.." She had been about to suggest a spar but was that such a good idea?

"Pull it out and likely throw it back at me." He hopped over a small wall set up to create a firing line walking towards Sylvia to scoop her out the dirt giving her a shake to get any off.

"I don't know... it's like... she or maybe I can't control the fear since she's grown." He frowned looking down at his jacket wondering if he really did deserve the promotion. "That's why I'm hesitant to spar, I don't want her to feed on the FEAR and accidentally go off again."

Heidi's expression was the definition of placid. Ro had completely missed the point.

"Well...that's why you're a trainee? Like, if you were a hunter having trouble with your weapon maybe it'd be a bigger deal..how long have you had Sylvia?" Heidi shrugged. "You can't get better if you just refuse to do the work. Come on, spar me. I'm a Moon, I need to be able to handle heavy hits if I'm going to protect people from them."

Roland shifted Sylvia in his hand walking back towards Heidi nodding. "Well I mean since I woke up I've had her. Almost a year." Saying that actually gave him a pause, a whole year he had been here. Still not dead. Good job Roland, good job.

Turning to Heidi he frowned a bit, she had a good point. "Alright. Fine. We'll spar." He reached up to his jacket undoing one of the pockers tugging out a spare set of runic bandages. He tossed them towards the smaller hunter.

"Just encase."

Heidi fumbled to catch the bandages, looking down at them with slight confusion. Did he really think it would get that bad? That she would let it get that bad?

"Sure," Heidi finally conceded with a chuckle, taking off her coat and tossing it on the ground. The bandages were tossed onto the coat for now.

Matilda was summoned next. "So what is Sylvia anyway? Or, er. What was she?"

Heidi raised Matilda and drew back her string, creating a glowing white arrow that waited patiently to be fired. "I'm ready when you are, by the way."

Roland's own coat hit the dirt, a series of rattling and clanking as all the random bits and trinkets he carried around in his jacket flopping on the ground.

"She's a banshee actually. Ghost that yell really loudly and all that jazz." He shifted Sylvia in his hands, snapping her into two again before starting to swing her bladed end around on her chain.

"What's your weapons type? Before it start putting arrows in me if you don't mind me asking?" She already had one drawn, he sure as hell wasn't going to get in quick enough to get first blood in this fight.

"Oh, neat! Matilda's a banshee!" Were there any other banshees on the island? That was cool! "...Does Sylvia speak oddly for you, too? Matilda's like...she speaks..really poorly done Elizabethan." There was a huff from the banshee.

She had only drawn an arrow in preparation for an attack from Roland. He had a scythe but apparently he didn't have to be near her to hit her, simply keeping her distance wouldn't help her this time.

Matilda was still feeling grumpy over the comment on her speech, so when Heidi did release the arrow she shrieked to throw her off and startle her. The arrow barely even nicked Ro's shoulder.
