Just as Major was rising to his full height, his opponent's boot plowed right into the side of his head, sending the Devil Dog right back down to the canvas. Clearly needing some separation so that he could regroup, Devastation attempted to quickly roll out of the ring so that he could have a chance to get the cobwebs out of his head.

Matt allowed the Devil Dog to roll out of the ring, he himself moving to the center in response. His eyes were locked onto his target, fueled by the rage of a fallen man. He smacked both of his hands against his inked pectoral muscles audibly and shouted, "Go home, ********! You don't want this!" Using the champion's own taunting words against him proved to get a sizable positive reaction from the fans; Shanahan was far too focused to notice.

He waited patiently (a rare occasion in itself) for Major to get back into the ring. That's where he hoped to keep it for now.

It didn't take long for Major's head to clear, and he was half expecting Shanahan to pursue...but that didn't pan out as he was still standing in the ring and running his yap. If the challenger wanted to keep the action in the ring, the champ would humor him, but only on his own terms.

Devastation walked over to the steel steps, taking his sweet time about climbing up onto the apron. Expecting to be hit with some sort of cheap shot if he entered through the ropes, because that's what he'd do if the situation was reversed, Major instead intended to do something that he hadn't done since his training days...hopping OVER the top rope.

The Devil Dog proved to be wrong on two accounts tonight; Matt made no move for a cheap shot on his opponent. He stayed in the center, rolling his wrists and waiting like an honorable challenger would. How long would be prove to be honorable was the question, though.

The God of Punks offered no verbal taunts to the champion this time; the signature smirk that crossed his lips would be the only reaction he could pry from Matt. He brought his hands up into his grappling position, waiting to see what Devastation had up his sleeve. He had been in the ring with this man enough to know that when it came to tricks and surprises, they both had their fair amount.

So, the Punk wanted to grapple? Major would be sure to make him regret that decision as he accepted the lock-up, and promptly attempted to lock his opponent's right arm into an arm wringer, with the intention of slamming his boot into the shoulder of the Black Star if he was successful.

Matt was ready for the lock-up, but wasn't anticipating the arm wringer. Knowing he had to get out of the position fast, he attempted to roll forward; unfortunately, the boot connected right as the he began his roll. Pain shot through his joint, but he refused to give Major the satisfaction of an audible response by grinding his teeth together to stop it. Regardless, he managed to end up on his back, with his arm no longer twisted.

It would seem that this is a good news/bad news situation for Shanahan. The good news was that he was out of the arm wringer...the bad news, however, was that he was now flat on his back with Major and his known mean streak hovering over him.

A sadistic grin spread across the champ's visage as he attempted to deliver a vicious stomp to the challenger's damaged shoulder and would look to add insult to injury, if successful, by grinding the heel of his boot into the injured joint.

A tight grimace pulled over his face as the heel of Major's boot smashed into his right shoulder and began to grind into it. That was an injury that would haunt him for the rest of his career; the Devil Dog wasn't helping that matter at all. Thinking fast, Matt attempted to swing his left arm over and wrap it around the knee of Major's other leg, hoping to sweep it out from under him and relieve the pressure on his joint!

Shanahan would get a brief reprieve from his current suckfest of a situation, as Major ended up on his a** after getting his leg swept out from under him. Too bad for him, though, that the Master of Disaster wasn't done with that arm and was now in position to attempt to grab the Punk's arm in order to try to lock in an armbar!
PostPosted: Sat Aug 31, 2013 9:01 am

Once again, Matt's arm was locked into a world of pain. The armbar applied an enormous amount of pressure onto his arm, overextending the joint even longer. The God of Punks wasn't going to stay down though. He tried to turn towards the armbar and lift Major's legs up with him, until he could get up to his knees, while now facing towards Major. If successful, Matt would attempt to himself forward to where he'd be hovering over the champion, and attempt to punch the man right in the throat with his left fist!

When his opponent started trying to turn into the joint lock, and Major felt his hips rising off the canvas, the champ knew that nothing good could come of it and decided to promptly put the kibosh on that while he was still relatively in control of the situation. With his armbar still locked in, Devastation would attempt to roll his hips to the side in an effort to put Shanahan right back down on the mat...and possibly either tear the man's rotator cuff or outright dislocate his shoulder in one fell swoop.

The God of Punks fell onto his side as Devastation put the hurt on his shoulder once again, but the months of therapy were paying off while it managed to not falter yet. If Major wasn't going to keep this up, Matt would have to come up with a different angle of attack. He attempted to push himself back up to his knees and wrap his left arm around Major's waist this time. If successful, he'd push himself up to where he was on his feet, before trying to lift the champion upward with a mighty heave and drop him back down to the mat in a strange powerbomb maneuver!

Well crap.... the champ thought as Shanahan once again began to push himself up off of the mat. Realizing that the same counter probably wouldn't work twice in a row, the Devil Dog simply released his hold and rolled to the side, coming back to his feet in one smooth movement. Besides, the damage was likely done and he knew a lot more ways to destroy that shoulder if it wasn't.

Intimidation proved to be Shanahan's ally tonight. With Devastation no longer attached to his limb, Matt was free to back up towards the corner and nurse his injured arm. Rotating it around forward and then backward proved to be the best way to work out the kinks, but Major had done some major damage.

Regardless, Matt stood a foot away from the turnbuckle and got ready for another attack. He knew what the champion was up to now; he wanted Shanahan's arm out of the equation.

Little did Shanahan know, but his arm wasn't the only thing Major planned to take out of commission. The champ stood in the center of the ring with a smirk on his face, beckoning his opponent to "come get some".
