Vanrui snorted at his statements. She moved froward, thoughw as careful not to get too close to his kill. She asumed, much like herself, without an invite to food, he would attack. Wolves were generally protective of their food; and it could be the same of this creature. She stared down at him, her paws flexing for a moment, before she snorted and shook her head.
"I don't care what they think. They're just older birds, looking to ensure their bloodlines continue." She glanced at him, arching her brow curiously. "What would I do that they would disaproove of? The only thing possible would be to lead a walker into the territory. And I doubt that'll happen." She laughed at the thought, shaking her head.

Naberius made quick work of the best parts of the fawn, leaving only scraps of a mangled corpse he decided to leave for the buzzards. He licked his chomps dramatically, keeping his eyes on the female. A ghost of smile flitted across his mouth as her defiance. She definitely had a spark to her, and that was something he could appreciate it.
"Leaving?" he asked. "You could just get up and leave right now, you don't think they would be upset?"

Vanrui blinked, a glare forming onto her features. She bared her fangs for a moment, obviously not liking the prospect. "They would, but they would not hunt me down. Mother is the only one that would follow; and she wouldn't be able to catch up to me. The Sisters do not trust me fully, considering I have blood of the wolf in me. It's a... complicated, situation. But I have no intention on abandoning my family." She stated, her voice firm. She tilted her head to the side, staring down at him as if he was some sort of offending nature, before brushing it off and calming herself down. "Besides, why would someone leave a place that is known as home?"

Naberius gave her a smug look, as if what she was saying was actually proving his point. So even your own family doesn't trust you?" He gave a dark chuckle. "Well then, I guess we don't want to be upsetting mommy, do we?" he said with a sarcasm, though there was almost playful edge to his voice now. As if he found her amusing.
At her question he just rolled his shoulders. "Home is where your heart is, I heard someone say once," he said with a roll of his eyes. "Which means my home is right here, and it goes where I go." He put his paw on his chest and widened his impossibly wide grin at her again. "But you know, if you did want to leave, even for a while, and you were afraid of your mother, I could protect you."

Vanrui's eyes flickered some, narrowing her gaze again. She pointed her ears backwards, eyes flickering down to stare at her own paws. She frowned at the thought, before grunting and looked back up at him. Her mother didn't trust anone right now, considering all the things that happened. When he gave her the teasing sentance, she snarled again, baring her fangs to prove her point and how she was irritated at the sentance. She huffed, before looking away for a moment.
Vanrui listened with perked ears, but when she heard his mention of the heart, she shook her head and rolled her eyes. Yes, that was true, to a point. But when ones heart remained with their family, it was difference. She shifted, before letting out a grunt and looked toward him, frowning. "Really? You could protect me?" She barked out a laugh, shaking her head while her shoulders shook from the laugh. "I can protect myself; and my mother would never attack me."

"Good, then there's nothing to be afraid of!" he grinned. He walked around her in a slow pace, observing her. "Have you ever even been out of the territory?" he asked, looking back through the forest. "How do you know you want to stay, if you don't know what else is out there, after all."

Flicking her ears up, Vanrui tilted her head to keep her eyes on him. She wasn't going to allow him to just circle her like some piece of meat. Like hell. She snarled out a warning, before her eyes flickered, and then locked on him, staring. "Hm?" A curious look crossed her eyes, before she shrugged non-challontly. "I've been near the edges of hte hunting territory, but never out..." She stated, though didn't respond to the last part, uncertain what to say about possibly leaving the territory.

Naberius headed her warning out of respect, stopping his predatory circling and meeting her gaze, though from a stationary position. "That's too bad," he said with a frown. "There's a lot to this world out there. Far too much to just... stay in one place. Home or not." He gave a slight distasteful sneer, but he was trying to be respectful.
"Certainly, they wouldn't have a problem with you taking a vacation of sorts. A few moons off to explore the wide open world. You could prove your trustworthiness, and also learn a thing or two while you're away."
He paused, amused. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Anyway, wouldn't be nice, to know you're there because you want to and not because you're expected to?"

Vanrui's eyes flickered. She tilted her ead curiously, before letting her gaze flcker toward the ege of the territory, where she knew it would be. She gulped, eyes flickering some, before shifting a bit, taking a half step back and away from the territory. After a moment, she glanced back toward him, tail flicking, and let out a small growl, and then stopped her noises. "..."
Vanrui shifted carefully, and let her gaze linger on the ground for a moment, trying to think of what to do. She was curious, interested, uncertain. What was this? Why was she curious about getting... about exploring? Her mother had blamed Honovi for their want to explore; why her siblings had left... What if she went and came back... told her mother she wanted to go explore around the territory, but would come home soon after. She flicked her ears, before looking back toward Naberius. "Hm.... And why would I go out? What would it do anything for you, pup?" She asked, her tone teasing.

Naberius let out a chuckle at her playful name calling, which sounded like a rumbling deep him chest. He was reading the uncertainty in her expression, but reveling in the whole situation. He wasn't so sure why he was so invested in her all the sudden, but he wasn't ready to just let her toddle back to her mommy just yet.
"I just want to see you reach your potential, pigeon," he teased back, referring back to her avian heritage. "After all, there's a real wold in there somewhere, and it would be a shame to cage it before you even know what it is you have. Think of the stories you could tell to your own pups one day."

Vanrui blinked, her eyes flickering, before she shifted somewhat and let her gaze flicker back toward the smell of home. She stared for a few moments, frowning, and then let her body shift some, almost moving toward the sound of his voice. After a few moments, she stared back at him, and then shfted to take a step back. "So you're saying that you want me to go with you?" She said, her voice still teasing. After a moment, she frowned at the thought of pups, and then shook her head some with a laugh. "I may have pups one day. But not soon."
Her eyes onece more flickered back toward home, contemplating sending word to her mother that she was going to go explore some of the outer areas, make a reasoning; perhaps she was going to check for walkers or just test her hunting/tracking abilities... She nodded her ehad, before looking back toward the stallion, staring.

"Would that be such a bad thing," he asked, mocking looking hurt, his tail wagging behind him in amusement. "Oh, I forgot. You don't need anyone," he said as he grinned at her. "Well, it makes no difference to me," he said, turning his muzzle up. "...I'm just trying to help you... no, not help. You don't need anyone's help. Hmm... show you that there's a whole world out there."
He flicked his ear, causing the little clip of red tied ribbon to catch the sun. "Just know, that if you never try, then you'll never really know if you're home, or just in a nice pretty cage."

Vanrui listened to him with perked ears. So, he wanted her to get out then? That was intersting. She frowned some, tilting her head back toward home, and stared for several moments. She breathed out a sigh, and then let her gaze slowly move back toward him, staring at the stallion with a curious stare. "Hm. Exactly. I can take care of myself very easy." She stated firmly.
But he had a point. He had a very good point. Did they want her there, or did they just need her there for obligation? Frowning, she shook out her mane, and then sighed, and flexed her paws again. She set determined eyes toward the stallion, staring at him with an easy stare. "All right. Show me around then, pup." She said, flicking her tail, and smirking at him with ease.

Naberius's cheshire-like grin widened, his tail swinging behind him triumphantly. He didn't even realize how much of a manipulator he was being - it was a dark, innate, twisted instinct that ran deep in his blood. There was a subconscious desire to dominate; to bend others to his will; a completely inversion of his father whose' weak mind had left him prey to the evil on his mother.
"Perfect," he purred at her, looking back towards the open lands. "If you think the hunting here is good, wait until you see some of the places I can show you."

The mare blinked, shifting slowly, before she shifted some and smirked, pressing her bodyagainst his for a moment in a small bump, before seperating and heading toward the open lands. "Hm? Prove it." She said, grinning with a small laugh in her throat. She tilted her headed toward him for a second, before slowly moving between the trees.
"Vanrui." She stated her name easily; not explaining the word, just expeting him to know it. She flicked her tail, before peering around curiously, moving like a slow moving wolf hunting a prey that was very easily startled.
