((Sorry about the long a** post, it kind of got away from me >.> anyone is welcome to engage her at this point by the way ^^'))
Pompeii had received the invite, a rather novel way of communication, and after much debate and discussion decided to attend. As far as she could figure out this would be just like one of Maia’s training sessions just longer which posed problems since she did have a business to run. After a few weeks of scrambling she was able to get everything figured out to allow her to participate even though she would not be able stay overnight for more than two days at a time. Ahh to be the owner of your own business and in charge…. It was rather annoying that this was a good indication of what taking a vacation would be like, a pain in the a**.
By the time she entered the main building at the complex Pompeii was frustrated and annoyed. She was late and she hated being late but the alternative was killing someone by a car. This was why she didn’t drive anymore but she didn’t have a choice this time. The event was held outside of town, getting a cab every day she left was too expensive, her bike would take even longer, and the buses didn’t go out this far. Trying not to let her irritation spill out over the others she could see milling around, only one familiar although there were a few that she knew in passing, Pompeii stayed by the doors leading outside as her mind tried to work out a way around her current problem.
How does one get to a remote area without driving? Yes she could have caught a ride with someone but she only knew Lassell and she wasn’t sure he would be here until she got here. She could have asked a ride from someone but Pompeii didn’t want to owe someone that much, besides it would be kind of assholeish to ask for a ride back and forth several times over two weeks. So that left renting a car, not that the money was a real issue, but the frustration… that was the problem. People cutting you off, going slower then molasses in December, failing to signal, music loud enough to hear three cars over, the dumb asses who cuss you out even when they are in the wrong… the list went on and on and all of them drove Pompeii up the wall. All of them required some sort of retaliation. A flip of the bird helped most often but sometimes a good scream was necessary and doing that in a car going 60 or more was not safe. This was why she stopped driving.
Pompeii had worked out most of her irritation on the walk from her car to the building and the last of it in the mental battle she waged with herself. Now she was just tired and wanted to figure out what was going on so without anything better to do she drifted into the crowd, looking for a familiar or even friendly face. How did people do this? How do they walk up to strangers and introduce themselves without this feeling of awkwardness?

Valhalla hesitated, his smile faltering only for a moment as Dallol jumped, wondering if he’d surprised her on accident. Hoping she would let him know if his presence was unwanted, he completed the distance to stand near her.
“I didn’t help organize it,” he shook his head, not wanting to take credit for something he didn’t do. “I’m not really sure what to expect,” he admitted a little sheepishly, his smile still there, but perhaps not feeling as well informed as he’d like to be.
The mention of the Carnival however, had his smile faltering once more and he quickly glanced over her to see if she was injured. “Are you okay...? You weren’t hurt, were you?” There were many that had been, and a hand lifted from his crossed arms to subconsciously scratch at the metal plate over his chest.
Thankfully, there were others around to keep them all distracted if they didn’t want to discuss certain things, and after casting Dallol one more concerned look, glanced over his shoulder to another Page he recognized but hadn’t had a chance to get to know very well.
“Falias,” he smiled, hoping Dallol wouldn’t mind the presence of another. “Valhalla,” he re-introduced himself just in case. “We met at the training... Maybe we’ll get a chance to actually spar here? Have you two met before? Falias, this is Dallol. Dallol, Falias,” he indicated to the two of them in turn, taking a small step back as he did so, and nearly running into another Page making her way through the crowd. One whom didn’t look all too happy, either.
“Sorry!” he sputtered, grabbing her arm in case she lost her balance in the momentary encounter. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?” he asked the purple clad Page, tossing an apologetic look to both Dallol and Falias for interrupting their introductions with his mishap.

Pompeii wasn't heading anywhere in particular but she was still surprised when someone bumped into her. It was a fairly filled room and it seemed that the guy backed up without looking so there was no real harm done so Pompeii waved away his apology. "It’s ok. No harm done."
She glanced up at him and the striking out fit tugged at her memory. He was at Maia's training a few weeks ago. He was one of the few that she was introduced to. He was strong.... really strong. "Um, I.... hello." Failing anything else to say she stammered through a basic greeting, his name escaping her. Unsure and completely out of her element Pompeii glanced around and noticed the others that... What was his name! was with. "Oh, sorry about the interruption."
Not knowing his name was bugging her. For some reason she kept wanting to say Odin but he was a person not a place… then it was if it clicked together, “ Valhalla? Right? You were with Maia and… um… Ganamead?” The sentence ended in a question since Pompeii wasn’t sure if she got the names right, or even the people for that matter. She could be mistaken and the meeting was very brief before Maia started the training session. She could feel her face heat up as she tried to rack her brain to see if she got the right names and people.

Falias looked across automatically as a voice called out his name, smiling cheerfully as he recognised the source of the voice hailing him.
The Jupiter Knight had been at the training day session organised by a senshi called Maia. They'd talked a little, but the session had ended before they could get to any sparring.
"Hi Valhalla," he said, making his way over to where the other stood with a curly-haired Page. His smile broadened slightly as he added "I remember." Names was something that they'd talked about some. "It's nice to see you again."
He shook his head at Valhalla's question and looked over at the curly-haired Page that he'd introduced. "We haven't met before" at least the Page wasn't one he remembered meeting. "But it's nice to meet you too Dallol."
Part of Falias wondered what sort of old lore place Dallol was, it not being one he recognised. Then again he wasn't too sure where Falias came from either. If it was an old lore places, like Knight names seemed to be, then it wasn't a well known one - not like Valhalla.
He looked back in Valhalla's direction as he apologised to a purple-clad Page (Pompeii) who looked somewhat familiar, although he didn't know her name and didn't think that they'd spoken before.
”Ganymede,” he corrected gently, his warm smile returning when she assured him she wasn’t harmed. He tried not looking too impressed since, while they’d crossed paths at Maia’s training event, they had never been properly introduced. Valhalla remembered she had approached them for a minute, but grabbed a nametag and took off before they could say hello.
“I... I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name,” he mumbled, feeling a little sheepish for not knowing someone’s name who obviously knew his. “Have you met Falias and Dallol yet?” he asked, indicating to the two others he was standing with, hoping that would ease the tension for the both himself and the young woman, and would give her an opportunity to offer her own name if she so desired.
“Did any of you watch this show when you were little?” he grinned, hoping to keep the conversation light. “Legends of the Hidden Temple, I mean. My br— uh... Sessrumnir, that guy in the green,” he added with a nod towards the knight, “Was just bragging to me about how I’m too young to really appreciate what this is. Valhalla paused, shaking his head, “I think I was either eight or nine when they stopped airing the reruns... We’re not as young as people like to think...”
He made sure to keep an eye on Dallol, wondering if she was okay, or if his including of the others was only making her uncomfortable. Hopefully her reaction to him was just out of surprise and not because she wanted to be left alone.
"I wonder if they'll have the traditional six teams... I wouldn't mind being a Silver Snake. Anything but a Green Monkey. They never won!"

Unfortunately?
Unfortunately???
Palatine tried to smile in welcome as she shook Valhalla's hand, but her jaw tightened at his response and a strange tick developed along her brow. She was very happy when he turned to socialize with some of the others, because she was finding it very hard to keep her cool and not start shouting twenty questions at him about who he was and what he thought he was doing here and does Paris know you go out to fight monsters at night?
She still didn't know anything with absolute certainty, of course. His answer could probably be taken many different ways, and that gut feeling was still based more on suspicion than any verifiable fact, but it was a very strong feeling, and she continued to keep any eye on him and carefully observe his mannerisms when he went off to join a different group of people.
She whirled on Sessrumnir at the sound of his voice and shot him a very dark glare when he grabbed her shoulder to direct her toward the table of food she couldn't really make herself care all that much about at the moment.
“You're an a*****e,” she hissed. “And you owe me. When this is over, you're going to tell me everything.”

Pompeii was glad that she was correct in the names, even if her pronunciation was wrong. She wasn't even offended that he didn't remember her name since their meeting was brief and it was mainly between Ganymede and herself before Pompeii tried to head out. Maia had slowed her escape and then the fighting started so the names fell by the way side. Pompeii wondered if Valhalla's name stuck because of his outfit or because the place was a large part of one of the god myths she had read. Mentally shrugging Pompeii focused once more on the here and now. "Pompeii. I'm... well... Maia has been helping me." She nearly added that she was a team member of Maia's but that seemed a bit strange so she just shrugged.
"No, I don't think so." Falias seemed familiar. He was likely one of the other participants in Maia's training since Pompeii hadn't really ran into other knights outside of training with the exception of a few like Camelot. "It’s nice to meet you." She nodded and tried to puzzle out Valhalla's next comment.
The name sounded familiar but it took her a moment to place the reference. It was an old kid's show that aired when she was younger. Pompeii vaguely remembered the reruns but by that point she was more into reading then TV shows but there was one point that she remembered vividly, "It was like Indiana Jones right? But for kids."

Lyceum noticed everyone pairing off and never one to be left out of the party, she searched the room with her eyes, noting teenagers, teenagers and more teenagers. It was disconcerting, but when she spotted a pair that didn't appear to be teenagers, although they didn't look particularly aged either, she headed right over to them.
She noted the woman was a page like herself and had seriously killer shoes, which made Lyceum feel a little envious, but the man felt stronger, but she honestly didn't know what that was all about. She figured it was probably not the best idea to mostly patrol in just one spot because as far as running into other's was concerned, it didn't often happen and it would be hard for her to gleen anything from all this if she didn't interact.
She walked right up to the pair and decided to introduce herself. "Hello, I'm Lyceum, Page of Polaris. Do either of you have any idea what to expect from all this." She decided not to mention that she had mostly come over to them because their being possible, hopefully over 25.
Lyceum had one meet one other knight, two never been to any sort of gathering, and three didn't have a clue about mostly everything, except fight if you were attacked.
”An a*****e, huh?” Sessrumnir’s grin widened, amused by her sudden irritability. He was actually surprised that she hadn’t punched him immediately — lucky for his nose. “Alright, alright... I’ll buy you a drink, okay?” he promised, holding up a hand in surrender.
Thankfully for him, he didn’t have to explain himself too much, since there was another knight whom decided to join them. Sessrumnir’s grin remained as he looked the woman over, glad to see someone else not in their teenage years, as well as someone with a nice body.
“Another knight of Polaris?” he wondered out loud, glancing the woman over once more before looking around the room for the young woman he was pretty sure he saw when he first got there. “Have you met Delphi yet? She’s Polaris, too... Just saw her... damn, where did she go... Wears light blue, long black hair... crystals everywhere... ah well,” he ended with a shrug and offered his hand.
“Sessrumnir. Jupiter,” he added with a wink.

“I can buy my own damned drink,” Palatine said.
Strangers buying drinks for her was ******** creepy. Michael Gallo buying drinks for her was just down right wrong.
Rather than looking at Sessrumnir's stupid face—and Palatine insisted she was totally mature about this—she went about examining the food table she hadn't been interested in before his offer. She didn't really care to eat right now, but staring at food was preferable to dealing with him.
Luckily, another page chose that moment to approach them. Palatine was not the sort of person to appreciate a lot of company, and she certainly didn't make it a habit to keep a lot of lady friends around, but she had to admit she felt a little shred of relief to have someone interrupt them, mostly because the woman who came up to them looked like she could be closer to her in age than even Sessrumnir was.
Finally, some adult company.
“Palatine, Page of Venus,” she introduced herself, and shot a dirty look at Sess to let him know that she did not appreciate him checking this woman out, not because she felt jealous—why would she?—but because they certainly were not here for the pleasure of men like Squire Sess.
As for what they could expect, well... she had no problem answering that.
“There's six teams. Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, Green Monkeys, Orange Iguanas, Purple Parrots, and Silver Snakes. Silver Snakes have the best win percentage. We have to cross the moat and ring our gongs. First four teams to do that get to the second round. Then there's the Steps of Knowledge. Dude tells us the legend of the artifact we have to look for, and we play a trivia game to see how much we remember. First two teams that answer three questions right move to the next round. Next are the Temple Games. We compete in physical challenges for Pendents of Life. Whichever teams gets the most Pendents gets to enter the Temple. We get three minutes in the temple to get the artifact. Who knows what to expect in there, but I'll bet on the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. For God's sake, don't put the Monkey's head on first.”
Then she stopped, looked between Sessrumnir and Lyceum and felt slightly embarrassed, but forced her expression into something dull and uninterested as she said, “Or at least that's how it went on TV.”
Lyceum shook her head at the question of seeing another Polaris knight, "no I didn't notice her. To be perfectly honest I mostly just noticed that there are a lot of teenagers everywhere." She frowned slightly, but looked around to see if she spotted the other knight before her attention was turned back to the introduction before her.
She gave a smirk at Sess's wink, but gave Palatine a wary look at the glare she gave Sess. She briefly wondered if the pair were in a relationship and decided it was probably so. She shrugged mentally though because men looked, they did, hell she looked to and she was in a relationship of sort too. As a matter of fact she couldn't help but to give the squire an appreciative glance before listening to Palatine's explanation.
Her expression turned to a thoughtful one, but then she remember. "I think I watched something like that in middle school maybe. I'm not terribly sure, could have been younger possible. This makes me a little worried. Is this like a game then, as opposed to training."
She frowned crossing her arms and cocking her hip out slightly, "so we probably have the potentially to be knocked out of this little game as well if it goes like the show."

"No I don't think we've met" Falias shook his head at Valhalla's question. Or at least not formally given the fact that she seemed vaguely familiar - maybe they had come across each other in passing somewhere - maybe even at that training thing that Maia had organised. Although Falias had pretty much talked to three people that night and the purple clad Knight hadn't been one of them.
He'd thought that maybe Dallol might know her better, but Pompeii's 'I don't think so' appeared to have been directed at both of them.
"It's nice meeting you too Pompeii." Like Valhalla her name was recognisable, although it seemed more of a historical place rather than one based on old lore - after all a volcano really had destroyed the city.
"I watched a few episodes" he admitted when asked about the show. And the Green Monkeys hadn't won.
Finally Niflhel and the other knights at his table had finished sorting out the names and putting them into groups. Niflhel had removed his hat to run his hand through his hair as he sat there and looked at the list before nodding.
A box was produced. "Excuse me." He called over the crowd giving them a chance to quite; before causing the microphone he had in his hand to feedback on itself. An unpleasant but effective practice of getting attention. "I apologize for taking so long to sort out names. It appears that we have more players than original teams; however luckily I came prepared and had created a few more teams related to the theme of the game already thought up."
There was a small smile, "Now then when I call your names I'd like for you to come up and get your totem with your partner we will also hand you jerseys with your team colors and totem printed on it. When all that is finished we'll get rolling with the event."
"Our Silver Snakes for this event are, Myrkviðr and Pharos! Please come and get your totem and jerseys."
He waited until the two knights had gotten their things before shuffling to the next card, "Our Green Monkeys are, Pompeii and Sutai!"
Again there was a pause, "Our Blue Barracudes are, Alfheim and Meru!"
A few beats before; "Our Gold Anteaters are Lassell and Lyceum!"
He watched as the pair left before continuing, "Our Copper Tigers are, Falias and Dallol!"
Niflhel paused as he reached for his glass of water on the table, after a sip he continued; "Our Purple Parrots are, Valhalla and Themiscyra!"
"Our Red Jaguars are Celliwig and Palatine!"
"Our Orange Lizards are Delphi and Sessrumnir!"
"And last but not least! Our Pink Butterflies..." He paused as he looked back at the knights that had helped him, "Bimini and Celsus!" He shrugged, welp someone was bound to get it, Niflhel just hoped Bimini and Celsus didn't mind pink.

"I suppose that the event organizers will likely have more information for us as soon as they're ready." Valhalla's concerns were unfounded really for Dallol took everything in her stride, her head bobbing up and down a few times to acknowledge his words before addressing his concern for her well-being the moment she brought up the carnival in their conversation.
"Just got a concussion from a rough landing since I was stuck on the rollercoaster when the Negaverse and youmas started their attack. But I'm not missing a toe or anything." Tilting her head to the side, she smiled as she tried to make light her injury with a joke in tow. She hadn't brought up the carnival on purpose so that the Jupiter Knight could fret over her the way he seemed to have a habit of lapsing into. Which struck her as being kind of sweet really, he and Camelot both. Things weren't as dismal with the Knights as Remarque would have her believe. It was something that she was gradually coming to realize based on her own experience.
She looked at both Falias and Pompeii in turn, momentarily silent as she became a little self conscientious over the fact that all three other Knights seemed to already know one another more or less. "Indeed we haven't. Pleasure meeting both of you today, Falias. Pompeii."
The Legends of the Hidden Temple was something that Dallol was unfamiliar with and just as she was about to ask someone to perhaps elaborate on what they already knew about it, she heard Niflhel's call for attention and turned her gaze to him. She was already grinning wide when she almost instantaneously recognized the name of the other Page whom she was supposed to be paired up with during the announcement that followed, turning to give a wink to Falias as soon as they were allowed some time to get themselves familiarized with their respective partners. "Looks like it's already predestined that we'll be working together for the entirety of this event, partner."
Copper Tigers huh? Sounded pretty nifty to her.

(( Yeeks, sorry about the delay in posting; been swamped. ))
Myrkviðr was running late, as always. Even the promise of food and refreshments wasn't enough to make her arrive on time.
The door was banging behind her just as Nifhel was running his hand through his hair. Myrkviðr was wrinkling up her nose and headed immediately for whatever punch was leftover. Screw fashionably late, Myrkviðr was 'I am too cool for this party' late. It didn't seem that anyone was in destitute need of her presence, with how they'd all begun to clique-out.
The scene was hilarious, really. And thank god for that, Myrkviðr hadn't come for the exercise, or the 'knight togetherness' deal. She'd come because it was free and if a bunch of martyr-minded stuck up Order folk in strange outfits wasn't a good laugh, then nothing was.
"Team totem," she mumbled to herself, piling a few extra scraps of food onto a paper plate. "How appropriate."
Naturally, last to arrive, first to be announced. She didn't even get the ten seconds to shove something in her mouth and swallow it. Instead, she took the whole set to the front.
"Hold this for a second, would you?" Myrkviðr handed the plate to Niflhel, and set the juice at the table long enough to take the jersey and give it one skeptical eye.
Snakes, huh?
"Maybe our test of skill will be sun-lounging," she said with a wink and a grin when the woman dripping hot-pink came to join her.
