Of course Hel remembered! She let Mot go about getting tall containers, since he’d easily find them. Hel was a simple creature after all, and that extended to her organizing habits. While he was doing that, she pulled out two bowls and spoons, and served some stew into the bowls. She then brought them over to desk, since she didn’t have a proper table outside of the little stand the flowers were on. She then went back to the little fridge to grab two bottles of black cherry soda, and kicked over another stool to her desk, so that they could both sit down. “I made beef dumpling stew this time!” She informed. Different than what she usually made…a little bit. Dumplings took more time to make okay. It was different. As she waited for the boil, she sat on her stool and stared back over at her flowers.

"Is that so?" Mot mused while filling the tall containers with water. Each of Hel's bouquets were set neatly inside them, save for the single stem flower that was set in a tall drinking glass and left near Hel's bedside. Mot returned to sit with Hel at her desk, bringing his knees up a little high as he brought his feet to rest on the stool's foot bar. Tall people problems. He poked at his food a bit with his spoon, always iffy and fidgety before eating a meal. Mot tried one of the dumplings within the stew first. It was a tad on the burnt side, but what did Mot know about proper taste anyway? He practically lived on Jerky most of the time. "It's not too bad~" Mot commented with a smile.

“Mhm…” Hel replied, idly, distracted as she watched her flowers get moved about her room. When Mot returned and settled, trying it, Hel had her bowl in her hands, but hadn’t eaten yet. Nah, she was still just staring at the flowers. “…Is…is it stupid that I want flowers…? I dunno…I feel stupid because I am not ah…a typical ghoul…?” She asked the cowboil, her tone hushed as if someone else might be listening in on this conversation. Hel felt stupid for asking, but she also felt stupid still for wanting flowers and how much she loved them. “Candle Jack…” She snorted, shaking her head a bit. “You are not even my boilfriend and you are still more romantic.” Hel looked down at her bowl now, and pushed some dumplings around.

"Just because you aren't what you consider a typical ghouly ghoul... shouldn't limit you to what you may want or not want." Mot set his spoon down. Hel's attention seemed divided by the flowers. "Don't let labels tell you what you need. Or want. I am one to talk, I suppose." Gentlemen's code and all.
"So.. Mac is your boilfriend, right? Have you not explained to him these things? The more you go on, the more it seems as if.." He hesitated a moment, "..as if this love is one sided. If he was in love.. he'd do these things without question, even through his sass and complaining."

Hel looked up at the boil, and she smiled a bit. “…Heh…thanks.” She replied. “That makes me feel better.” She informed him honestly. “Whether you are one to talk or not.” Mot’s assurance was good enough on that subject at least.
As Mot talking about a boilfriend though, Hel’s eyes widened and one hand left the bowl to wave wildly, and she shook her head back and forth, her hair whipping around. “H-he is not!” She exclaimed. “I mean…ah…UH…I…we…never talk about it…” Hel picked up her spoon again, and pushed the dumplings around. “I just…” She started, bit her lip, and then shook her head again. “N-nevermind!” She quickly decided. “I am sorry.” She muttered. “I feel like this is all I talk about with you. I am certain you are tired of hearing it. Never mind. Forget it.”

Oh. They weren't... oh.
oh.
"Don't feel that way Hel! I don't mind hearing about it. I just want to help more than anything." He insisted, still not touching his meal since the first bite.
"Still... if you two are not dating, and he refuses your emotional advances?" Mot grimaced, "I don't see it happening. For your own well being, I really wish you would let him go."

The reaper kept pushing around the dumplings in her stew, and she heaved a sigh. She felt bad. She felt like she could only talk to Mot (and Belladonna too, but Mot knew her longer) about it because he was the only one who would be sympathetic to her in this matter, but it was also a matter he couldn’t help her with, no matter how much he tried.
“Guess I am just too stupid to let go.” She replied after a moment. “Yanno…I first brought up the subject…almost seven Octobers ago…” Wow, had that much time really gone by already? “He said ‘not now’, just wait…and when I talked to Gramps too, he said all I could do was wait, and to give time, and to be there…if I let go, Mot…I would be giving up…I would not be waiting…I would be going against my word.”

Mot slammed a fist down on the table, rattling their untouched bowls, "That is not giving up, Hel! When you realize what is best for you, you must take action! How would you like it if this situation were reversed? If I tortured myself over someone who kept dragging me along with her whims, huh? Mac is obviously hung up over something else, and I do not appreciate that you will simply devoid yourself of the attention you need simply because you told him you'd wait."
He huffed, his eyes filled with concern and staring right into Hel's. "You could wait forever. I for one will not watch you do this to yourself."

Hel’s hair actually stood on end when Mot slammed his fist on her desk, and her mouth just fell open as he went on to express how he was feeling. Hel was rail roaded by how passionate and assertive Mot just got over this. Woah…Mot being all passionate and assertive…it was like Humans seeing a rainbow unicorn.
Hel, so blown away by Mot’s sudden outburst, did not notice how limp her fingers were on her bowl nor did she notice the way the soup spilled out of it and onto the floor, followed by the pitter patter of dumplings…and then finally the bowl itself.

Nope, she was still staring, dumbstruck, at this Mot. This…Other Mot. This Other Mot was coming out more often…it was weird.
“…Huh?” She finally uttered, dumbly, snapping to. She looked down at the floor. “…Oh.” Well…good thing the floor wasn’t carpet! That made cleaning up messes easier. The reaper picked up her bowl and spoon, followed by the dumplings, and then went to go get a sponge for the liquid. When she came back, her lips were pulled in something of an amused smile. “So…if you are not going to watch me do this…then what are you going to do?”

Mot frowned at her sassy reply when she returned. "I would have hoped my hurting heart would deter you from harming your own." He replied grimly.
"I hate seeing my friends suffer. I hate feeling powerless to do it. But in the end, it s never up to me what you can or cannot do; all I am able to do is be very vocal about my opinion on the matter."

…Oh.
Hel paused in cleaning up the puddle of soup, her free hand resting on her knee as she blinked. Oh…oops. Her selfish nature strikes again! Of course she didn’t see it until Mot oh so nicely pointed it out for her after some time. Jeepers. She was always going to be a selfish thing, even when she honestly wasn’t trying to be…
Hel tossed the soup-filled sponge into her bowl, and wiped her hands on her tunic as she stared up at the grim. After a moment she just wrapped her arms around his skinny waist in a hug. “I am sorry, Mot.” She replied in earnest. “It was never my intention to cause you pain.”

Mot's frown faltered, torn on how to express what he was feeling. He laid his hands around Hel's back and one on the back of her head. "I know.. I can't help but worry and hurt when you are hurt is all." He murmured with concern.
"I just.. want so badly to fix things that are in need. All I can do for you is listen. I just wish I could do more."

“You are a great friend.” She informed him, and then laughed, trying to lighten the sudden serious mood that came on. “I mean, you hang in there with my stupid a**, and you even bring me flowers! Do not hurt…I am doing it to myself, after all, and that is not your fault.” She rubbed his back with one hand, keeping the other still.
“I do not expect you to do more than listen. You can not do more than listen…and trust me, listening is really helpful for me, okay? You are one of the few who actually listen to me, and I really appreciate it.”
