"I don't think they'd fly away - not if you had food for them. Why would they? And afterwards I'm sure they would but I'm also certain some would stick around. Either way it would be more in the area to populate and in the end you still have more." Shrugging his shoulders as he answered. "I've never had an aphid issue either but I keep them in my greenhouse just in case." He had enough little ladybugs running and flying about his green house that it was hard not to see a few when you went in. Thankfully they ate things other than aphids, so they didn't starve, and he had earth worms in all his plant pots.
"The garage is a good idea. Figure that in the long run this ear is a bust as far as growing things goes. Next spring is when we'll start and by summer time you'll have a lot for your neighbors to be jealous of. We just need to bid our time and work on the grass."
Laughing at her question, and her promise not to steal his idea, he smiled brightly. "That's easy. Aside from nice green grass It think a cobble stone area around be nice, a fire pit and the grill. But beyond that a pool, in ground or above doesn't matter too much, with lattice work around one side of it with ivy and lights in it. A small gazebo would be nice also, white night blooming flowers and lavender around the bottom of it with more ivy creeping up it and some more lights. I'd fill that with pillows, something comfortable, the furniture out back would be wrote iron in nature." To match the theme he seemed to be going for. He was going toward a romantic sort of setting, or at least something very calming. "I would do a fountain without a doubt, something in stone and old looking. I'd be aiming for white, dark green, and lilac color wise. Lights to highlight things and add some lighting." He'd likely, along the way, think of more to add to it. The idea was still a work in progress. But he wanted to play with stone and ivy and little twinkling lights rather than anything too bright. "I might add in marble queens or pothos as well just for some added green and some dusty miller as well perhaps." He certainly had a color theme for it, that went without saying.
"Alright, lets get on with the tour then. Follow me." He was more than happy to get on with showing her the things he had in mind. He had a theme, or colors, for her and he would be keeping to that for her.

Mei mentally added lady bugs to her 'to get next year' list. What he said made sense, so long as they have a food source why leave? "I hope when the time comes next year you'll still be around to help me through it." Had she known him longer than today this would probably be the moment where she'd nudge his shoulder playfully. But as it was she did not and she didn't want to turn a great afternoon into an awkward situation. She listened intently as Alex spoke, the way he described the setting allowed her to weave intricate imagery into a fantastical garden of dreams for his ideal back yard. If anything, the gazebo coupled with the fountain and cobble stone area sounded like the perfect place to relax. "It sounds like you're aiming for the 8th wonder of the world. If you ever manage to achieve this garden I'm sure I'll be seeing its debut in a few magazines." She offered him a sincere smile to show she was not jesting. "Though if I may make a suggestion, I'd say go with a ground pool, in my experience pools above ground tend to look a little tacky if not done properly. Plus you could do some amazing tile work designs at the base of the pool and maybe some boarders. Just an opinion though" "That would be great." Mei nodded her head and fell in line partially behind, partially next to, the blonde haired boy as he guided her through the rest of the nursery. "Thank you, for all you're doing. At the very least it's nice to talk to someone about this without getting weird looks for a change." Some of her friends back where she use to live didn't care to learn much about her passion, so long as they got home grown snacks out of it they were happy.

"I hope so as well." He liked his job, he got to work with something he loved. The work hours and environment were also good, very good, for him. He may dislike his lacking hours, and thus lacking pay, but it was still a job he enjoyed and one which accepted the hours he'd had to cut back on.
"Mmm, that is true. I just worry about any animals getting into a below ground pool." Especially his own dog; though dogs did swim well. "I will think about that. And I sincerely doubt if I do ever get the backyard I want that it'll make a magazine." At least he doubted it, he was in fact sure it wouldn't. But that was if he ever got a big enough backyard and got to do what he wanted with it.
And as the tour finally wound down, some time later, Alexandre brought himself and Mei to the check out counter in the first green house. "If your ready to check out we can do that. And I'll keep in contact." It was at some point during the tour an idea had formed, they'd been discussing a garden for the city to enjoy and something safe for people to do together, and so they had spent most of the tour discussing a community garden and what it should contain. "I'll give you my number and we can work on ideas for it. I'll talk to my mother soon." He'd talk to her about the idea, if it was good, and see if she or his father couldn't help him find a place and how to attain the place for this community garden. It would take lot to do and most things wouldn't get planted now - that was for sure.
(You can do a final post if you want.)

Mei followed Alex to the register and pulled out her wallet to pay for the three ceramic pots and small-ish bag of potting soil. "Sounds like a plan, I'll send you a text when I get home this evening so you'll have my number as well. I really like the thought of working on a garden together! It might be fun to have a box by the entrance where people can drop off seeds of fruit, vegetables, or herbs they'd like to have grown." Carefully placing the pots in her side bag, Mei slung the strap over her shoulder and picked up the plastic bag of soil resting it on her hip for a moment. "Thank you for your time today Alex, I had a lot of fun." She paused thinking about her immediate time line. "I should be back later this week to get the grass seeds. That is, assuming my brother will give me a ride." She shrugged her shoulders not entirely convinced that he would bring her back here or not, it might take some sweet talking. "I hope you have a good rest of the day!" With a tilt of her head Mei offered him one last smile and waved goodbye before taking her leave.
