After dinner, Cynder did the dishes and tried to hide a small tear going down her face. She then got some blankets for Lance and said "We should get some sleep. HQ will figure out how to get you home once I take you there. But for us to get there on foot will take about a day. So we will have to get up a little passed dawn. Goodnight." She sounded like something was wrong even though she was doing her best to hide it. She then went into her room and sat down turning off the light and lighting a candle on her night stand. SHe looked at a picture of her lover before he was killed. She sighed to herself as a tear fell down her face. Her eyes seemed more lonely than anything as she sat there. She had no one that she could turn to. No family that was still alive, nor any friends that even tried to help her through this. Then she kissed the picture, set it on the nightstand, blew out the candle, and laid down crying silently in the night to herself as before she actually fell asleep as she usually did.

Cynder was sound asleep. She was dreaming of her lover and the day she received the news he had been killed. "Zero...." She said softly as a tear went down from her eye to the side of her nose. You could see a picture of her lover and herself on a nightstand. She seemed to be pregnant. But the egg didn't make it. It was stepped on by a human knight. Her heart was crushed that day. All she had was the memories of Zero and the happy memory of when she had the egg. She didn't have the strength to continue living like this. Once this was over she would give up her career of being a freedom fighter and just live her life without any contact with anyone or anything. Zero and that egg were the only one's she had left and now....she thought she had nothing.

Cynder woke up a couple seconds later. She looked up at Lance and said "Hey. are you alright?" SHe smiled up at him trying to hide her pain. She didn't want him to worry about her.

"It's nothing you need to concerned with. But if you really want to to know....I lost my husband and child during the war. No on's bothered to even try talking to me about it. That's why I'm a freedom fighter. I thought that it would help with the pain if the war ended and I could finally put my pain to rest. I know it's not what Zero wanted but...I just can't let him go. He and our child were all I had. My family isn't exactly the type of dragons who go against our traditions. They shunned me when I didn't marry from within our clan. After I left with Zero he promised me that he would do his best to protect all of us from harm. He died of his injuries after the funeral, our egg was taken from me and destroyed by humans. I don't blame them for what happened......I blame myself. Perhaps he would still be here if I had not met him." She explained having a sad smile on her face as she looked down. She had been living alone for so long that she hoped Lance would stay with her but didn't want to force him to do anything he didn't want to.

"Oh I didn't mean to force you into something. You're more than welcome to stay if you want but I'll understand if you would rather go home." She said not wanting him to feel like he was being forced into doing something he didn't want to do.

Cynder smiled as he spoke kindly to her. "Alright. But we'll still need to get more supplies from Headquarters as well as permission for you to stay on with me." She said and smiled before saying, "I must admit that you being here would make me happy. I know we've just met but I've had this feeling that you being here is the right thing." She smiled blushing a bit as she said "Is there anything special you would like for breakfast?" She was trying to be nice to him hoping that he would pick up on how happy she was he was staying.

"No I don't mind cooking. How does sausage, eggs, and biscuits with fresh juice and coffee if you want sound?" She said sitting up a bit as she blushed as he looked at him.
