While dodging it had been good, she wasn't utilizing her weapon that much. As she came back for a recoil swing, Nocella ducked and lunged again, slipping past the danger zone of the naginata. Jumping from the ground, she flipped one foot onto the pole of the naginata, gripping it with a hand to steady her balance as her opposite foot lashed out at Shu's upper torso. While her attacks did have a good range of influence, her danger zone was a little too prominently flashing at her foe. Once someone got into her personal space, it would be over. Either she'd be dead, or she'd live just long enough to switch out her weapons. A risk that she really couldn't take.

She groaned a little, as she eventually regained her footing and got back up on her feet. Sighing, she looked at her opponent, as she was growing tired of the same old routine of her striking and then her sensei either blocking the move effortlessly and then things lead up to her fall down on the floor again. She hated that and started to envy her sensei just a little bit. However, Shu sighed and kept her emotions at bay, as she remembered what her sensei told her earlier and gave it a try once more. She got into the proper stance, and held her weapon in a proper fashion. However, her footing was slightly off, but she didn't notice this mistake of hers. Smirking afterwards, she directed the tip of her Naginata's blade straight towards Nocella's bokken.

"You're not paying attention to your range. Do not jab with your weapon until you feel comfortable with using it. You don't have nearly enough reaction time or skill for thrusts and jabs yet." she mused. Unlike a swing, which covered an arc of area, a jab was straightforward. Not only was it an extremely linear attack, but if you missed, it would allow the opponent to slip past her range of influence with ease. It was obvious that this would be her most difficult training yet. Not only was this her first time using such a long range weapon, it was also her first time having something as advanced as a range of influence. A sword was easy. You could swing it anywhere and have no blind spots. But something like a naginata was an entirely different style of fighting. "Once more." she said, backing up as she balanced the bokken on the tip of her finger again.

"Good." Smirking after what her sensei said, she then continued to send the tip of her naginata straight towards her sensei in the same fashion. However, after reaching a certain distance, she pulled back the weapon immediately and started the whole motion all over again and continued to do so in rapid succession. She wasn't showing restraint towards her sensei, though she wasn't doing so from the get go.

Nocella began sidestepping her jabs and thrusts. Upon finding a hole in her guard, she reacted swiftly. Discarding her bokken and sending it spinning away from her on the ground, she shoved past her range of influence and into the safe zone. Within a second, she drew her Zanpakuto in a flash of iaijutsu. Aiming to cut on the same stroke that would bring her blade out of the sheath, her blade flashed to Shu's right arm. Looks like she would have to resort to more drastic measures. Kick her arrogance down a few notches and let her experience some of the real world. If you didn't do it right, you were dead without a second thought. And there was never anything better for training than the real thing. Or, at least, near the real thing.

However, she then noticed her sensei draw her zanpakuto and moved in for her attack. Without a moment's notice, Shu used shunpu to narrowly dodge her sensei's attack. Appearing behind Nocella, she decided to listen to her earlier advice, as she swung her weapon straight at Nocella. However, due to the rush to attack her opponent, she was in the wrong stance and was bound to trip if she hit or missed her opponent.

Clashing her blade with her naginata, she deflected the attack and moved in yet again. Sliding her blade to the side, she lunged forward for a shoulder bash at Shu's torso. Immediately following her lunge, she swung to the side, spinning in a full circle and launching a hook kick to the center of her stomach. If she hadn't already lost her balance, she would go flying back a few feet if it connected. Obviously, Nocella didn't know the meaning of the word mercy. At this rate, it would take her years to master the naginata, let alone her entire Shikai. Seems like this weapon would be the most challenging one yet.

This was becoming rather frustrating for Shu, as she wasn't aware of this, but her final shikai weapon was also going to be the hardest weapon for her to master, as this weapon was rather advanced in comparison to the other four weapons she had in her arsenal. Shu continued to improperly wield her weapon, as this same process continued for another hour. As the time passed, Shu continued to struggle with learning how to use this weapon and continued to fall, but was starting to show some fatige, as she was sweating a lot and was breathing heavily, as she was struggling to keep up with her sensei and learning how to use this weapon.

Easing out of her stance, she whipped her blade through the air before sheathing it. "Enough." she said, signalling the end of the training session. She walked over to the fallen bokken, picking it up and tossing it back onto the rack with a clattering noise. She picked up a bottle of water on the way, chugging half of it down before capping it. Unlike Shu, she had hardly broken a sweat, and seemed to be at ease with her stamina. One good thing about being a warrior. She used as little stamina as possible, and conversed all her muscle movements. Tapping the side of her water bottle and giving a look to the bokken rack, she set her water down and walked over to Shu. "Hand it over." she said, beckoning impatiently to her naginata.

Shu was exhausted from handling Nihon no ryū Rīchi, and was glad that training was over. Though she was extremely upset at the fact that she made literally no progress during this training session. Sure it was understandable that it was the first time she was using said weapon, but this? Usually by now she would have at least gotten the hand of using a new weapon like the other ones that she was exposed to. This however was proving to be a total pain in the a** for Shu.
Sighing, she got up and listened to her sensei. With shame, she handed over her shikai over to her sensei, and stood there. She wondered why her sensei asked for such an odd request, as she worried about the consequences that would soon follow. Her performance was mediocre and her skill was incredibly sloppy. Disappointed in herself, she looked at her sensei, waiting to find out what she was going to do with her zanpakuto. Hopefully nothing to rash to it, as she carried her zanpakuto with her every single chance she got.

Nocella swung it downward once, before straightening out and giving an almost imperceptible nod. Gripping it with both hands, she got into the stance that she had showed Shu, going through several motions with the naginata as an example. She wasn't showing off, or trying to make Shu feel like crap. Nocella wanted her to leave the training session to reflect on her mistakes that she had made. And what better way then showing someone how to do it right? Nocella swept across the floor with a short demo, only doing basic moves so Shu wouldn't get ahead of herself. Her movements were fast enough to be considered attacks, but slow enough so Shu could see her body movements and stances. After a minute of demonstration, she began to do some of the more advanced and complicated techniques, like swinging in midair and using the length of the pole as an attacking asset. To finish it off, Nocella swung over to the adjacent wall, using the tip of the pole end of the naginata to knock one of the bokken in the air, twisting and swinging the naginata at the same time with both hands. She landed in a crouch, the bokken falling to the floor as a bunch of little rectangular wooden squares. Twirling the naginata in her hands, she dumped it back into Shu's arms. "That is what you should be trying to do, and that is what you can do once you've mastered it." she said, pointing at the bokken. "Keep training, brat." she said gruffly, downing the rest of her water as she crushed the plastic bottle in between her hands.

She envied Nocella's skill, as she was able to such the weapon with such ease. Watching her perform the more advanced moves with the naginata with such ease really bothered Shu, as she didn't want to admit, but she was taken away by her sensei's skill with weapons. Then again, it made sense that she would have such skill, especially since she was a member of the Five-En. However, Shu just sighed and was a bit embarrassed after seeing this display of skill from her sensei.
"I'll make sure to keep practicing when I get the chance." Smiling afterwards, she grabbed her shikai and let it get covered in black energy, as it returned back to it's sealed state. She placed it around her shoulders, as she placed the clip that held her sword in place and walked over to get some water. Drinking a whole bottle, she then reached for a spare towel, as she wiped the sweat off her face before tossing it aside, as the usual Division members who were stuck on janitorial duty would come by and clean up the small mess these two caused.
"So sensei. When's the next training session gonna happen?" Smirking afterwards, Shu was actually looking forward to the next training session, as she was determined to continue learning more about mastering Nihon no ryū Rīchi. After all, it was about time her shikai training would reach an end, so she could get started on the real work that would come ahead of her. Bankai training was going to be tough, and her father always warned her about the hardship that would come with the training when the time came, and always mentioned Nocella and how it took her a thousand years to learn.

Crap's been happening everywhere in the Human World and the Gotei. I wouldn't be surprised if the Commander called a Captain's Meeting." she muttered. Shaking her head, she lobbed the plastic water bottle ball over her shoulder. Cracking her neck rather loudly, she stretched out the kinks in her arms. With a Captain gone missing, more Captains being initiated, and the crap about a strange hollow appearing in the human world, looks like peace wasn't going to last much longer. She only had to wonder what the next looming threat to their peace was. Sauntering towards the door, she scanned the key card as it slid open. "I'm going to check on the Commander. Life's being a drag right now." she grumbled, walking out the door.

She felt more comfortable by addressing Nocella as her teacher during these training session, as it was the formality given for a student/teacher relationship. However, Nocella seemed to hate it, so Shu was going to do her best to stop calling her sensei. Nodding her head after hearing what Nocella said, Shu was surprised to head the bad news, as she wasn't aware of the recent events that happened in the world of the living, but was bound to find out sooner or later.
"Alright. Obviously this situation is far more important than you training me, so just let my dad know when you feel we should resume training. I'll keep practicing everyday here regardless if you're here or not. Though cheer up Noci. I'm sure this s**t storm will be over before you know it." Smiling after that, Shu's attitude seemed different all together. Perhaps she was glad that training was over with, as she could go and get back to training her subordinates back in the Fourth Division. Sighing, Shu bowed before her sensei, before leaving the training ground, as she decided to stop by her father's office.

When we wanna recover, but we don't wanna learn....▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄Samui walked peacefully around the training grounds, she noticed quickly a woman and her friend Shu sparring. Her job or like she liked calling it "mini mission" was to see if the spar was good. Remaining quiet for a while as they sparred, analyzing how it was. Well the confidence is always there thought....but more practice it is! she thought calmly as she sat in one barrier or wall. She was crossed legged and her elbow was resting in one of the knees as she rested her chin in her hand. Her long hair was like always, messed up and everywhere, but at least her yukata was in ship shape. Speaking of which she turned to see her zampakuto, remembering last time they met. Man why do you have to be so cliche sometimes. she thought as she kept studying the moves. As the training ended, her patience did as well. As soon as Nocella left the grounds, she jumped from the wall and landed on her feet. The same grin still on her face as she rested her arms behind her head. Nice training there Shu! she said in a cheery attitude still. Man she was in a good mood and it was a bit difficult to change it, but deep inside of her the whole human world thing got her uneasy. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄....Keep breaking what's been fixed a thousand times.
