His eyes narrowed. It would just so happen to have been the man Atrox considered his Alpha that turned the leech into what he was today. Ironic, really. Considering it was due to King Graveheart that the lycan was who he was today as well, as loyal as ever to the royalty of the Nation. "Let me just tell you something, Vampire. The answer to the question of why Velox followed blindly behind loyalty. Because, in his teens, he followed blindly behind Captain Graveheart. And now, in his thirties, he followed behind King Azio, however, not so blindly. He chose to be blind. To be ignorant under certain circumstances for that's what it took to remain loyal. Although, if the time came, that something were to happen that he did not like - if Velox didn't - Atrox would surely make his own decisions.
His red eyes glared at Alistair, although they were not angry. "I do not command your respect, nor do I wish for you to respect if that's not what you would like to do, but if you did fight to survive, then why disobey orders when they are so simple? Why would anyone choose to be blind? Simple. They were too submissive. By choosing this life, Velox chose to be viewed as the personal b***h of the royalty of Luimira. That mission with the false princess would have gone through even if she was the true princess. Alistair would have killed her, had he not considered her bloodline. It would've only taken a single twitch while the blade was inside her to sever her spinal column. If he had managed to kill someone two ranks above him, how hard would it have been to kill the king? Something was off about Velox. Alistair hadn't noticed it at first, but he behaved differently. Even his eyes changed colors. Whatever it was, he would watch it closely. But the Lycan's tone suddenly changed when he smirked. What was he playing at? The Lycan was being extremely... off today. Whatever, it wasn't his problem. "I came here to confirm something... My beliefs, to be precise. I am going to do Nindo, and naturally I would seek advice from the only other ninja in the city. I would never try and attempt it with my beliefs scattered. I have to assume you did it already, if not I can seek the advice of another."

That smug smirk on the lycan's face, unusually, brought either no distaste or annoyance to Alistair. No, he was far too busy hearing what the lycan had to say about Nindo. It all seemed foolish, having an epiphany about how one wants to live their life. Alistair's life was fine as it was. He often found himself in tight pinches, but he usually seemed to manage enough on his own. Though it was true, to some extent, what Velox had said. A battle? It was fine with Alistair. He needed someone to test his new skills on, and taking some of his frustrations on Velox seemed like a pleasing idea. Even though the man was of higher rank, it didn't mean Alistair would let himself get beaten to a pulp. No, he'd show that Lycan the power of the shadows. "Deal. Don't take it easy on me, I don't need your mercy." With that, Alistair's body began to morph around as it shifted into several bats right in front of Velox. They quickly flew out of the door, seeking a familiar destination.

Returning to the Church, Alistair honestly did feel a bit different. But that was probably due to a slight hunger he felt. It had been a few days since he last fed, but the hunger wasn't normal. It was just because he wanted to feed, not because he had to. He'd take care of it once this battle with Velox finished. He figured there was no need to make a flashy entrance, so he simply walked into the church. Knowing that the Lycan would be able to sense him coming, he didn't bother to make any noise as he approached him. "Finished... that was all a load of sentimental crap, but it's done. Let's battle."
