"Hardly, simply saying that I know my own and what you do - would go right into the realm of can't do." He said, just a bit hastily, had he slipped up? "I know that I can't seek the answers to everything and knowledge of everything. I know what areas I'm no good at and where I'm comfortable." He tried to explain, not wanting the other to think he'd insulted him; since he hadn't.

"It sounds ok. I was worse as a child. I had just one friend who was more like a sister, I refused every other offer at friendship. She was good enough, at the time. I've only just opened up to making other friends." Which might account, in part, for his awkwardness when it came to situations like this. "Though I'd say many people I meet wind up acquiescence and not friends." Though he did have a fair amount of friends, more than he ever did in the past. He was learning to be social so he did make some errors, he expected himself to. He couldn't help the things he said, he was an honest person, and so things were bound to happen. It didn't seem like he'd ruined this though.

Following the other he nodded his head as he glanced about. The new rooms were nice as well, though obviously has seen years of use. But that seemed good. They had seen years of no name people toiling away over various works and at all different stages in their progression and their pierces progression. So much seen and so many things done. It the rooms were pristine it would seem like they were unused. Perhaps you could say the rooms seemed loved in a sense; if that made sense. As Quenton got up onto a stand he tilted his head in question.

"What? You want me to do something here...now?" He asked utterly unsure and surprised. Fingers racked through short ash hair as he glanced the others tall frame up and down, on that stand Quenton was even taller than him.

"Stroud has always been my closest friend. Our other cousins Rowan and Hunter, too. Shared blood and names counts for something, I guess, in helping us all just put up with each others foibles. "

Looking down from his riser, Quenton tilted his head and gave a playful look. "I do. It'll be a good start. No one is here, there's materials. You can see what you think of the set up and get a taste of what to expect. Completely safe. "

"You don't even have to show me the sketches. What do you think? At least one. Grace the tour that much." He stripped off leather protection and shirt and tossed them aside onto one of the easels. He left pants on, in case Alex seemed very uncomfortable, watching the other carefully as he slid his glasses off and into a pocket.

"Stroud....blond hair, knows her way around an art gallery? Good sense of fashion and a old Ford?" He asked wondering if it was the same person, sort of had to be though - right? How many others had that name in this city? Likely a few people but just that - a few. "Rowan is a plant...well tree really." He said in a rather off handed manner, one of those little bits of info he had stored up in his blond little head.

"And no one will be coming back here and disturbing us?" He asked feeling his cheeks warm ever so slightly. He couldn't help where his mind may wander, though it didn't get far down the path thankfully. "I wouldn't mind showing you, after all you would be the subject. I'm also sure you would have some pointers to give." And help would be nice, since he'd never worked on a person. He'd always stuck to the same subject matter, though he had turned recently to using oils and doing architecture.

"You don't need them?" He asked indicating the glasses with a nod of his head. "Or just for some things?" Curiosity colored his voice as he went about locating pencils and other materials; better get those things before he decided to just stare at the other and do little else. He wouldn't paint, no time for that, but sketching he could do.

Quenton chuckled, "Well, it is a shade of blonde, but she bleaches it to the white it usually is. The real colour is more a dark ash grey blonde. That's her, memorable experience usually...if I'm trying to be DaVinci, she's trying to by Byron."

Since there wasn't mention of police, Stroud must have been going light that night on the getting up to whatever it was that pleased her and her guests. "Met her at a gallery then? She's pretty dedicated about being a Patron and giving back to the art community. Hah, Rowan's no tree yet. But named for it, yes. I guess all the Marinus lines are wirey and tall. Our fathers are brothers, and there's an aunt in there that had the other two. They're both younger though, just getting to middle school- they're married in with the Strathley family...whiiiich you may know. They were turn of the century industrialists, I think a building in downtown carries the name. "

That was all fairly boring, but an explanation that might help Alexander place them in some sort of order in his head. While the Marinus family wasn't from Destiny City, the Strathley was. It all filed under American Heritage stories to him, tracing back roots to find where the families had done what and how that had influenced the choices of the successive generations. It meant there may be other acquaintances between them that they were as yet unaware of, who knew. That was part of the fun of discovery.

Seeing that Alex hadn't developed a bloody nose or passed out from all the blood rushing to his cheeks, Quenton tossed pants and shoes aside as well, keeping only the dark grey hip-cut briefs beneath. His hair just took a quick adjustment of the band to get all of it off his shoulders- a little bit Gibson girl for a guy, but the point for gestures and the conversation was body-lines. For a man that meant a necessity of shoulders, which his hair obscured. "No, they're just plain glass panes. Back in high school I really liked the look of glasses, and I tried some on- just kept with it. Thought it made me look scholarly and went with my cheek bones. Vanity, but everyone has something , right? Not like the long hair wasn't enough. Does your phone have a timer app? "

"We could start classic- controposto stance. "

"Step one- don't feel constrained to the angle you are to me now. You have the whole room to choose the view and angle you want to draw from, so feel free to use whichever easel or move the easels."

"I see and she is indeed memorable, I had a good deal of fun with her actually." He had no idea that police could have gotten involved in their night of fun, or that Quenton was even thinking about how police hadn't been involved. "I did, it was a rather boring, lack luster, event and she decided to liberate me from it whilst removing herself as well. It was a nice escape to say the least." He'd be going to the art event next year, likely with her, again and he had told her he'd bring something of his. What he didn't know, and he had time.

"I can't place any building with that name. I'll have to look it up later." He knew the names his mother mentioned when speaking about work, new clients, old clients, people she had to know and had to deal with at work or events. Beyond that he didn't know a single big name in the city, but why should he? They weren't necessary to know about. Though right now it seemed he had a little learning to do about Quenton's family, maybe he should ask his cousin Stroud.

Turning round he was surprised to notice more clothing had been shed by the other; this would certainly make working an interesting affair. "Ah, so a fashion statement or just a liked accessory. And we are indeed all a bit vain, it's in our nature to be so. As for long hair...well mines only newly shortened; and thinking on it glasses added would have looked good perhaps." Rolling his shoulders as he returned to where he could work and view the other. "Of course it does." Smiling he pulled his phone out and set about pulling up the app for the timer. "How long should I set it for?"

With the others words, and wanting what he thought was the best angle anyway, he moved a bit but not much. He was happy with where he was positioned; he was also happy with the view.

"Two Five minute gestures? Enough for a taste and not to be laborious. " At least with the heat wave, it certainly isn't cold in here.

Quenton was thin, wiry and tall as he'd described- his arms, back and chest had clear musculature from sculpting that faded gradually along a six pack that did exist from daily use but was visible mostly from lack of a significant BMI. The hollows of his collar and anterior illiac crests were clear, as well as the lower striations of ribs beneath his latissimus dorsi. It wasn't that he didn't eat, it was that he either forgot or couldn't afford to at the time. His complexion was an even cream without much blushing even where the skin was thinner on the human body- he had deep, small arteries and veins that easily explained where in days gone by epithets of 'blueblood' may have come from of those whose ancestry was from Albion and Hibernia.

"Recently short? How long did you have it? Just tired of it? " It was certainly more convenient to have short hair in the hear of summer, and it tended to go more crisply with current men's fashion. Long hair gave impressions of goth, emo, or renny culture, none of which really applied. But that was the failing of stereotypes and first impressions (however important one decided they were).

"You could try the glasses on if you wanted to see how you'd look. There's mirrors on that wall for self portrait assignments."

"That sounds fair enough, though I can't promise anything really good." He said with a smile to the other. "But it's a taste of it - as you said." And would give him a general sense of starting a piece that would later on become more detailed.

While he set up, hands moving, he kept his slate hued eyes on the other. He was good looking, not too toned, but not over weight. Maybe a little more food would help him a bit, maybe it was just natural. But he was tall and good looking in Alexandre's opinion, he wouldn't mind sketching or painting him even. Maybe he'd get to like working on people...maybe.

"I had it past my shoulders. I could find a picture to show you - I'll bring it on our date?" He offered questioningly. "I guess you could say I needed a change and it was random really. I wasn't planning to cut it and I let the stylist decide on the style and length." He hadn't planned it, it was very random, so he'd just told Caleb to cut and do as he pleased. He wasn't unhappy with it though; he liked it. Maybe one day he'd grow it out a bit, not like before, but not right now He was ok with it being nice and short. Speaking of that he should see Caleb about a trim.

"Mmm, maybe. I don't know. I might after I'm done trying to sketch you. So why don't you get into a pose and I'll see what I can do."

"I'd love to see a picture if you have one you'd be willing to bring. I think the only times I've ever had mine 'short' looking was when I had a wig on for costumes come Halloween. It's been dyed a couple times for the same reason. "

He has a stylist? That was something he supposed would be helpful in keeping up appearances, not that he himself did much. In fact, he hadn't been to the same person twice for getting his own hair trimmed since getting to high school.

In response to the call for a pose, Quenton obliged, placing a foot on a ubiquitous grey block on the stand. "This is mimicking Antonin Mercié's David. It isn't very famous comparatively to other statues, but I've always liked the motion of the hips and arm. Maybe this woudl be easier if I had a sword, but you get the idea."

"I'll be sure to bring a picture, or a few, then. I can say that I never planned to cut it - it sort of happened. It was a split second decision - just as much as the tattoo I have which your cousin likes." He stated while he smiled at the other. "I've never colored my hair - I couldn't imagine doing it." What color would he do? and shade...and why would he do it? No, that wasn't something he figured he'd ever do. "I'd like to see some pictures of you with your hair colored, or in a wig, if you have any. I'll bring pictures of my last two Halloween costumes as well." As embarrassing as one of them would be; he was proud of the huger games costume.

Alex had gone to one person, for the longest time, till he'd met Carnelian and found out the corrupted senshi did hair. After that he'd started to go to him for trims and it was to Carnelian, or Caleb really, who he'd gone to when he'd broken down and it was Caleb he'd told to just cut and do whatever with his hair. The other was his stylist as far as he was concerned. He was good and had gone with cutting Alexandre's hair in a flattering manner.

"I don't know it, though I don't really know statues aside from the most famous ones. I'll have to look it up later for myself - and see what it looks like compared to you now." He said and a teasing smile crossed his features. "I'm sure that you look better though." And he turned his attention to paper and started to work. "I think...for a date we should go to a gallery or a museum. Something that has paintings and sculptures perhaps?" He questioned, not looking up save but a flicker of his eyes, as he worked to the best of his abilities whilst trying not to stare...which he sorely wanted to do.

"You have ink? And you let Stroud see it? " He angled his head enough in the pose to shoot a mock judgment face. "I'll have to get all the details out of her. She's into the body mod scene sometimes. I don't have any myself, mostly a time element thing. "

"I think there's some pictures floating around in family albums. I don't have any at my place, but I can see if I can scrounge up any. The parents are overseas as usual, so they can't send any from the main house out of state where the old albums would be. " Back in the nineties when people still primarily printed pictures instead of keeping them in facebook albums on the digital space of the world.

"I've spent a lot of Halloweens as Quincy Morris...no surprise there. Like the Bram Stoker movie, so short hair wig and a theater mustache. Looks real weird on a fifteen year old, I think, but it was cool at the time."

"I love museums, if that's where you'd feel most comfortable. There's also getting out of our mutual comfort zone as an option. Have you ever been on a ropes course? I've heard there's one about 30 minutes North of the city. I've never been on one, but heard good things down at student affairs." It was completely unpolite, so the rest was contained to his college brain- Nothing like spending a day getting sweaty and touching wood?

"I do and I did, she saw it peeking out from under my clothing so I let her see the rest." He was not going to say where it was, though his voice might have given that away. "It's new and was really unplanned- like my hair cut." Both were unplanned but big changes, one more so than the other, but he didn't regret either of them.

"My parents, especially my mother, has several albums. I dare not ask her for them. She'd wonder why and then offer to personally show them all to you." And that he did not need, nor want, his mother showing someone he was dating all his childhood picture and giving the stories behind them. Some were downright embarrassing; as he was sure the case was for every child. His mother might be a hell of a business lawyer but she was still a mother; and thus more than capable of showing off pictures of her child and cooing over them and telling stories. All of that of course without much care for embarrassing her child.

"I've never read Bram Stoker...and the movie I've never seen. Perhaps I should?" He asked with a questioning look in his eyes as he looked up at the other. "He wrote Dracula right? So that would be the movie? Or something else?" Oh yes, he was clueless on this one. "I believe last year I did a hunger games costume." He felt it fitting, very fitting, considering how he spent a good part of his life now. He waited to see if the other knew it, even though he also felt the books and movie might be on par with Harry Potter, it was a popular series. He just felt it on par with Harry Potter, childish, due to all it's hype and such. Otherwise it might be seen as more mature to him, but he'd still read it, and by the end of it he likened it to Animal Farm and Orwell's other similar book 1984.

"They are nice and comfortable as well. Perhaps we can mix comforts of ours with new things? We can try the rope idea...and a museum the following day?" In order to try new things, which risked looking quiet foolish, with things they both knew and were comfortable with. Truth be told he had no idea what was involved in a ropes course; he couldn't even begin to imagine really. Shaking his head he went back to work as he worked to quickly sketch the other out, wanting to do his best but also this was new for him.

After a moment he smiled up at the other. "You know...I can show you the ink I have. Though I don't think I should be doing that here. But if you'd like to see. It's simple and small though."

"The love of parents is best when it is unconditional and enthusiastically shared with all comers. Maybe I'll get the chance some day. " Quenton's lips curled in a pleasant smile. "Yes, Dracula. The movie on topic is from 1992, directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It was...artistic. People tend to love it or hate it in my experience. It has some good acting, some bad, but some stunning and groundbreaking visuals for its day. It dared and accomplished much. I'm surprised you haven't been exposed to the story as a book or to that movie at all. "

"I've only skimmed Hunger Games. Admittedly, I felt the same about it, and decided I'd just go read 1984 and Animal Farm instead when I put down Catching Fire. I never got to the third one, too busy into other things. I haven't seen those movies at all. I preferred having my imagination of the characters and settings intact, instead of the Hollywood-beauty versions after the butchering they did with Harry Potter and making everyone and everything have to be aesthetically pleasing in spite of wrote descriptions of things being awkward, odd, or unlovely."

Two dates already offered to be scheduled? Well now. That IS doing well. Quenton resisted innate ego urges to puff. It woudl ruin the pose anyway. As soon as the first time limit was up, he switched to a seated pose on his hip, mimicking Edvard Eriksen's little mermaid for the second and final gesture of their impromptu set. "Sounds like a plan. We'll just have to find what days are best, then. "

And he'd HAVE to write it down, probably on his hand in sharpie, to make certain this wasn't among the things that got left behind or forgotten. Which was many. Many many many.

But he was distracted from his internal self-annoyance at the offer of sharing. Bold offering, though being a model in one's underwear probably helped to break that sort of ice and self consciousness for others. "I'd love to see it. I've considered getting one before, but never gone through with it since I've never had something I wanted so definitively as a permanent addition. What was it like for you? Did it take long? Did you go to a salon or just homebrew sort of deal?"

Laughing he shook his head. "Maybe. And I normally prefer the family love which is rather calm and peaceful. Not my mother sharing stories for hours in an enthusiastic manner. I prefer other conversations and ways to spend time. But to each their own." And if Quenton met his mother, and father, he'd likely allow his mother to go on for however long she felt like - so long as Quenton didn't have an issue with it. He'd just go up to his old room and hide.

"It's a book I've always thought to read but haven't. The same can be said for a few other books. It's not one I even own. Perhaps I'll see if I can get the time to read it...and before then I'll see the movie." Since the other was saying it was that good.

"The movie wasn't bad. But the book is told in the point of view of Katniss. The movie isn't done in her point of view so her thoughts, and reasoning's, are missed. But otherwise it's not all that bad. It's worth a watch and the other two aren't out yet." He'd heard that movie two was due out soon-ish. He wasn't sure when, he'd find out when it came out though, and he'd see it when it came out. "I went with a district one costume." A district known for fashion, which fit him obviously, but also a career district, which fit his Negaverse self. A district known to train early on for the games and to have a good amount of winners. How odd though...a district of fashion creating killers...very odd with how those two things were such opposite things.

"Mmmm, I'm free on weekdays, for now, in the early evening. Weekends I have morning and early evening free. Though I'm sure I can change things plus with semester staring I'll have my hours on everything changed." He was hoping certain things ended, punishment, so he had more free hours. It was really killing his social life and right now he really wanted the free time!

"I went to a salon, I wouldn't consider doing it at home. Like I said it was rather sudden - as in I walked by the place and went right in without much thought to it." He said honestly with a shrug of his shoulders. "Perhaps if your not doing anything after this tour...we can go to your place or mine and I can show you." He was being bold, taking a risk, he wasn't offering more than showing off the ink he had. But it was a lot for him, and he was sure it could be taken to be an offer for more, but this was dating and not a one night stand. So things couldn't go so fast - right?

"Both keep more or less regular business hours, so the weekend is probably the better bet, in the morning, for either. The museums all close at 6, so evenings wouldn't work. The ropes courses....I don't know but when it gets dark, certainly. Which is what, 8?"

"My place is probably the nearer, " though from Alexander's 'car', he was willing to bet an awful lot less impressive. But it would be good to let alex see what the very nearby housing looked like. Besides, he didn't have anything to hide- he wasn't rich, and he didn't let his place get messy. Not that he had many things to get messy. And Alex could see just how bright the little patch of plants were in his otherwise very grey apartment.

"You have your driver's license with you? They'll have you sign in at the desk, and want to check it. They won't keep it. It's just light security, and also keeps any creepiness from going on-" Which begged the question about that creepiness, "I guess I've been assuming, but you're eighteen? You'll have to be to be let in. Otherwise the choice gets very easy, and we're going to your place. "

It was long enough that the second pose was done, so Quenton hopped down, grabbing his clothes from where they'd been abandoned and carrying them over and around to look at Alex's work. "How'd they come out?"

"Yeah...so morning it'll have to be for the museums." And likely the rope idea as well. He could try and shift, or cut, his hours just enough to do something in the morning. He really hoped his punishment was finished by the time school started up or he'd be in a boat without a paddle, at least that was the feeling he had. He had classes, whatever expectations those would carry, work, and a social life. It would not be easy to balance it all, especially as a first semester college student.

"Mmm, then your place it is. I'd like to see it, and the plants, anyway if I'm being honest." Which he was, he failed at lying to people and honesty was the best thing anyway. He wanted to know where the other lived, it felt like something he needed to know even, and he would at some point have to bring Quenton to his home. He just hoped Alois didn't mind him bringing a stranger over, he'd have to tell him beforehand of course - common courtesy.

"Of course I do. I wouldn't risk driving without it, even though I'm not likely to be pulled over." Actually...pulling out his wallet, from a back pocket, he flipped it open and pulled out his license. He had his long hair in it, not as long as it had been in the end, but it was still long and tied back. License pictures were poor, in general, but it did give an idea that what his hair had previously looked like. "I'm eighteen, no worries." Smiling he offered up his license, he'd gone and listed his eyes on it was gray even though they were somewhere in between the two colors. Like a slate or wet slate sort of color. They tended to appear to change color often, depending on lighting and color of clothing, so he'd just gone and checked gray off when he'd gone for his permit.

He did wonder what the other meant by creepiness, and would have asked, were t not for Quenton asking him about the sketches. "Ummm...alright I suppose." He was used to plants and other natural things. So doing the human form was new to him but the general idea was the same. Map out where there was the lack of a body and thus you had the body sketched. The shape was there but lacked detail for the most part. It was rough but the shape was there, though perhaps a bit too long/tall and maybe a bit too slender.
