Aw man. A necklace. He sighed on the inside but put up with it since it seemed to make her happy. Her outright honesty shocked him again, stunned him to speechlessness. Best friend? She barely knew him if felt like. He barely knew her... And yet somewhere deep down he understood why she had felt that way.
"I don't want us to separate either."
He'd spoken it softly, and it was probably a bit daring to admit such a thing, but he spoke the truth. He feigned horror when she mentioned having him try things on. "You mean to punish me, don't you? I've hurt your feelings and done terrible things to warrant that kind of torture!" He grinned though, indicating he was merely joking. Who the hell was he kidding? He'd wear a whole damn outfit if it made her happy.
Oh boy.

An unconscious grin lit up Sephora's face at those softly spoken words. There it was again, the honesty, sincerity, sweetness she'd come to expect from him in the short time they'd known each other. His words sent a gleeful shimmering through her tummy that she wasn't sure she entirely understood.
"You just wait; you have yet to see me angry, " she said, her grin growing wider. "I put my anger into doing constructive things, you know. Sometimes." She almost winked at him, but that felt like too much playfulness so soon after the conversation they had just had.

Kendrick smiled at her playfulness, their previous conversations seemingly forgotten. "Angry? I would hope not to make you angry.. But I suppose doing constructive things is better than.. destroying something." He himself wasn't much for a temper, you couldn't think straight if you let anger get the best of you.
His attention diverted to the sea, where he could see the sun was just about to disappear behind the waves. Somehow he was disappointed to see it go. "It's late. I should be going." He took a couple of steps and the necklace she had just placed on him, fell off. Blinking at it first, he slowly peered back up at her. "I.. I didn't mean to. It just.. fell." Hopefully she wouldn't be upset about it. "I'll.. um.. Will I see you tomorrow?"

Sephora grinned as the necklace fell off, just as she'd thought it would. "Angry me is a hungry me. I go and hunt down fruits and dry them," she said, but followed his gaze out to sea. The sky was bright with sunset, but it meant the day was over... Soon, it would be dark enough to be dangerous wandering heedlessly around as she did during the daytime - her clumsiness was not always limited to flight.
Watching him slowly look up at her, she felt her grin stick to her face. "It was a flimsy thing, anyway," she said, hoping that would make him feel better. "Dry grass isn't the best material... But you will see me tomorrow, I hope?" her own answer was a question, uncertain. "I wake up around daybreak, if you want to come around then?" Maybe her mother would be back by then and she could introduce them. He was to be her tutor, after all... And tomorrow, she would fly (well, hover really) more.

Kendrick smiled. "Sure, I can try to be around at that time. Get some rest, we have more work to do tomorrow." He bowed his head to her slightly and turned to head off down the beach. He would find a decent place to crash for the night and attempt to get some sleep without visions of pretty mare with tiny wings.
