Wow… Harij honestly couldn’t believe that she had bothered to even get this far with him. He had been in these lands for a long, long time and not one conversation-if it could be called that- with someone outside of his herd had really lasted this long. “Don’t usually like it.” He wasn’t trying to be rude of scare her off, same as she was not seeking pity – but the truth was the truth no matter how pretty or ugly it was. She was passed by for being tiny – he hid himself so far away none could ever find him. It took a lot of effort to not visibly jump when she became her regular size again. Jolting just slightly he blinked at her in almost-irritation. “You control that, or it you?” That sounded pretty caveman… All well, a flash of his usual hermit thoughts went through his mind of –if she didn’t like it, she could hit the road.- … Old habits died hard, and it was even more difficult to imagine changing anything from one conversation. This was just one conversation, right?

"I did that on purpose... I usually dip close to the ground before growing.. I guess you could say.. I'm afraid of falling mid change and hurting myself." She chuckled lightly. "As you can see.. I'm not the most graceful of flutters." She nodded sagely. She knew she was prone to her klutsish moments and it wasn't something she was ashamed of. It was part of what made her... her.
"So, My quiet friend, and I say friend for we are not foes yet.. yes?" She grinned wide at him. "What brings you from your perch, where ever and how ever far it may be? Just the bath?" It was a bit of a forward question, but part of her down fall was that she was at most times brutally blunt in her curiosities.

What was going on? Was this reality? Here he was, after years upon years of living in his hiding hole and ignoring Lovey’s attempts to socialize he was practically chatty Cathy. He kept his eyes on her and even attempted a smile. It felt a bit forced, because it was—but still—he was trying. “Klutzes? Met one before.” Volunteering the tidbit of information, Harij focused on her next question. “Not foes.” He actually nearly managed to interrupt her before she finished speaking because the word foe made him think of great evil things, with clawed feet and razor fangs. “Agreement – groomed by two-leg soon” His voice was coming more freely. Harij had not always been silent but the past had not been kind.

Her ears flicked forward at the mention of a two-legger. "Two leggers... they're around?" Her voice held a slight hopeful tone to it. Perhaps this HAD been the place she was looking for. Maybe she could find the one two-leg she'd been looking for all this time.
The thoughts and possibilities Maybe, just maybe she was getting that much closer to finding the little child that had cared for her so dearly. The excitement coursed through her causing her to tremble slightly. Her withers jittered and she shuffled once more from one hoof to the next, fighting the urge to look around for the girl.

He sincerely hoped that two-leggers were not around in mass amount. It had taken him long enough to be accepting of the girl, Aely, grooming him. She certainly had become awfully animated though when the humans were mentioned. “Uh. One’s close.” It would be cruel of him to tell her there were more since he honestly had almost no clue at all. Continuing to watch, not really sure if he had anything of interest for her to be excited about. Harij felt the urge to fidget himself. Conversations were… a pain. Trying to say the right thing at the right time and interact nicely and… he just didn’t have a clue. “You… need one?” Maybe she just needed a human to do something for her, like him.

"Your two-legged?" She figured it have been too good to be true. "Then there are no more around?" Her ears flicked about, a frigidity sort of movement on her own part. Maybe this two-leg knew the girl she looked for.. after all.. some times things were brought to your life to show you the way when lost, or at least that's how it always seemed.
"Does.. Your two-leg know any others perhaps?" Then a thought rolled through her mind. Perhaps this two-leg was the one she was looking for. Stranger things had happened before. "I think I should like to see this two-leg.. maybe watch her while I'm so very tiny?" Once more she shrunk, though this time voluntarily. She fluttered up around his head, lighting ever so gently on his forelock before walking around down to his nose where she turned and looked at him. Her wings still fanned out and closed, mimicking the bug she looked like as she eyed him during her intrusion of personal space.

He thought of the teepee that while mostly secluded would be a far stretch of the imagination to be considered isolated and nodded slowly. There were other two-leggers around, he was sure of it. How often they were there and would they be there right now? He would be lieing if he said that. Aely, the two-leg, tended to have people all over the place. What on earth was she doing? A minute ago he had been nodding his head and now she was fluttering all around him – way closer than he was used to having anybody around him. Feeling more than a bit like a fish out of water Harij nodded awkwardly, “Uh yes… This way.” He had dried almost completely in the daylight and his mane and tail looked worse than ever. It was time for him to get some grooming done and if Aely didn’t notice the flutter with him… well, then she was an idiot. He had seen several flutters on his jaunts home. Not that he had spoken to anybody. The pretty mare with him would be welcomed. “Help yourself, we’re close.” Look at him, a regular chatty-cathy.

She nodded her head and even shifted her weight about so as not to 'fall' from her new perch as he started to walk. Holding her wings out to her sides, she sturddied herself before walking back into his forelock and folding her wings neatly at her side. She moved about his locks, making a careful hiding spot for herself as well as just some place she could stand and not risk being shaken loose. Finally with her own meddling and manuvoring done, she buckled gently at her joints and rested in a more relaxed position. It made her smaller, laying in her little 'nest' of forelock like this and thus to her own hopes, less of an intruding sight.

Harij didn’t know he was ticklish. In fact, it had probably been years since the stallion had even bothered to attempt laughing or anything similar to it. The feel of almost weightless movement going through and around his hair had him clenching his jaw slightly. The urge to actually laugh was building. Just when Harij thought he was actually going to start laughing she seemed to settle down and he couldn’t help but give an audible sigh. For whatever reason laughing seemed like an incredibly intimate thing. Was she actually comfortable on his head? So… why was she so excited about two-legs? …. Instead of that, Harij instead said, “Why?”

`Swirly Sorry it's taken me so long to get this out... new job. "Why what?" she puzzled over this for a moment. What did he want to know about? She had an inkling of an idea of what he might be curious about. "Why do I want to see the two-legger so much?" She was taking a stab in the dark at such a wide open question he'd made. Her withers jittered, a shrugging motion though he couldn't really see it. "I suppose you could say I'm looking for an old friend.. A two-legger I've knows since I was a filly.. we'd grown up together.. and one day... she was gone... Not a word from her.. just... vanished.. Like she'd never been. You could say.. in some ways.. I want to see her again.. see if she had meant to leave me behind.. or if she is well even.."

It was a pain for him to figure out how to make the best of his own limited conversation skills. Honestly, he was surprised she had bothered to be so nice to him for this long. So she was looking for someone in particular? He really wasn’t going to be helpful at all…. He was not exactly the bell of the ball. A jagged grin danced on Harij’s face and he probably would have looked like a lunatic. Especially with what she was talking about. Oh jeez, she was going to think he’s a jerk and Harij straighten up and quit his silly grin, “I’m sure she didn’t mean to. You’re too nice and lovely.” Oh jesus. Where had that come from? A harsh clearing of his throat was about all Harij could manage. He felt ridiculous now.

She paused a moment. Tilting her head to the side some she rolled the thought over some. "You're very kind, I'm sure you're right.. there has to be some reason.." Shifting some more in her hiding spot, she continued to mull the thought over. So many thoughts.. so many reasons that could have lead to her abandonment. She should have been bitter.. but she wasn't.. she'd stayed worried about the same two-legger for most her freedom.
The clearing of his throat brought her back from her own thoughts. "Harij... Am I making you.. uncomfortable hiding here?" A soft breeze rustled about, playing in her mane where she was nestled. She didn't want to make him feel awkward or out of sorts. After all.. He'd been gracious enough to let her ride along and was taking her to see that friend of his who might know where her two-legger was.. not that she could just come out and ask.. They didn't often understand the language of soquili.. and like wise she didn't understand the two-legger's languages... still.. body language amongst themselves often spoke volumes. So perhaps.. maybe there was hope yet?

Harij really would have found some amusement in being described as kind. Most folks didn’t stick around long enough to get to know him, heck most people didn’t stick around long enough to deal with how foul he usually smelled and normally he would have said that he was ok with that. Here lately though… Shaking his head a little bit as if to chase thoughts away from his mind; Harij froze realizing that he may have just shaken the mare loose. Uncomfortable? He could barely feel the mare in his hair. Having spent almost no time with flutters perhaps they all were as unassuming and worried about being polite as she seemed to be. If he were bigger on talking he would explain to the mare that it was unlikely that she could offend him; owing to the fact that his own manners were barely tolerable in polite company. Lovey always visited and nagged at him… Man, he lived a boring life when that was something that he thought of twice I the same day. Realizing that he had been frozen for a moment and hadn’t said anything in response to his question, Harij grunted and continued walking, “No, you’re good.”

When he shook his head, she nearly lost her footing. Thankfully, he'd stopped just before dislodging her from her perch. Shifting about some, she resettled herself. "I'm glad I'm not troubling you any." She smiled even though he couldn't see it. Stifling a small yawn, she looked out ahead. "About how much longer a walk is it??" She was starting to wonder how long she'd be able to keep this size. Some times she could hold the size longer.. others, she just couldn't. She knew her mixed blood was the cause, then again it didn't help that she had no real training from anyone of her kind. She'd been orphaned till the two-legged girl had found her. Shaking her head, she drew her thoughts once again back from the past so that she could be ready for his response.
