Well then.
Now Otto faced a dilemma. Leave the poor sick Nevada alone to heal her strength back. Or. Draw on her face like a jackass. She seemed confident he wouldn't do it. He could prove her wrong.
...Nah. Besides, he was pretty sure he didn't have any markers. If he'd had stuff like lipstick and a vanity mirror, he could draw on that and leave it near her for her tired future self to freak out on later. But no. He did that to his first girlfriend once, and that just earned him a spot in the doghouse. And revenge from a female was not something to be reckoned with. Guys would just beat you up and that was that. Girls?
Yikes.
So Otto shrugged, still seated by the pile of pillows and blankets and thinking of something to do now that his company was sleeping. Maybe he should make her something, but he couldn't cook. Nor did he have any real food. Just candy bars and OJ.
Oh well. He simply sat there, patting the lump that was Nevada's head. There there, Nevada. There there.

Leaving alone would've been the best option but the further Nevada got to sleep. The less her mind barriered against the nightmares that haunted there.
In her dream, there really was a pizza man and he was bringing pizza to them. Them being Otto and Her and Alaska and Tuck and Stormy. All hanging out. All just being a group of teenagers. No hunter life. Watching a flick or whatever. Debating over who would get the door for the pizza man. Nevada lost out, opening it...smiling at the man.
Then the Pizza box exploded with spiders, crawling every way. Over her friends....herself. And she was dropped into cold, so cold it made her bones heavy.
Ocean. Salt and water hit hard. She could smell it, feel it. Engulfing her.
She made small whimpering sounds from her pile, reaching unconsciously for Otto's hand and holding on to it, like it was the life line from her dream.
"Cold. Ocean is so cold...."

Otto simply day dreamed about nicer things, like skateboarding and sunshine, trying to distract his thoughts from anything horrible now that he had company to stop him from despairing. But Nevada began to stir from her sleep; unhappy noises that followed made known her sleep was not restful. He looked down suddenly as she took his hand unconsciously, frowning deeper as her murmurings hinted at her dilemma. "Hey..." Otto used his free hand to try and softly jostle her awake, "Nevada?"

There was a slow groggy blink of awareness as Nevada pulled herself from her ocean. Instead of cold, she was warm. Instead of reaching aimlessly for something to tether her, she had Otto's hand.
Her eyes cracked a little. "Where....." She sneezed, "Are the bongo drums. I was playing them still...."

"You played'em for all of five minutes and then you passed out." Otto pointed out, subtly trying to free his hand. No offense to Nevada, but what would Eva think if she walked in on him holding some girl's hand? Probably nothing much, but he worried none the less. "They're right where you left them."He paused, "Bad dream?"

"Did I really." She looked around, feeling his hand slip out of hers. "Oh sorry!" And snatched her own hand back. Rule number #1, don't go holding other girls boyfriends hands. Especially when you originally had a huge crush on them.
"Yeah...." She sighed, "Was thinking of the mission. Pizza man exploded with spiders, dropped into ocean. Woke up not playing bongo drums."

"That sucks. Don't let it ruin pizza for you, or that'd be real sad." Otto remarked in light jest, fidgeting with his hands. "Well, the bongos don't got any spiders that I know of, so you can keep playing if it makes you happy."

"I'll try not too...." Nevada sighed, "No no....I will try to go back to sleep." She waited....
"Will you read me a story or something?" She sniffled.

"You... want me to read you a story..." Otto asked, almost not believing her. He waited for a moment, to see if maybe she was teasing, or testing just how far he'd go for a sick girl. Pretty damn far. "Fine. Don't expect me to make somethin' up, cause I ain't got any imagination. You'll have to pick from the shelf." And lo and behold, Otto really did have a book shelf. It was small though, since the teen was picky, and preferred to just read the same stories over and over rather than try anything new. Notable titles included two sets of the entire Harry Potter series, since two friends got him the same thing for Christmas. One book seemed different than the others. It was older, and much more handled. The seams seemed to be coming apart as if it had been read one too many times. It was titled The Catcher In The Rye. Any other books just seemed to be skateboarding magazines, and books related to music or drumming.

"I want you to read me a story." She curled in the nest and gave him the biggest green eyes ever. EVER.
"I want that one..." She pointed to the most read and used book on the shelf. "Because you like it don't you."

"Maybe I don't like it. Maybe its a cursed book that just won't go away." Otto retorted, but got up to get the book anyway. He sat down, slowly opening it to the first page, all while giving Nevada a narrow glare. " If I read you this story... you promise to fall asleep?" He kind of hoped she'd just conk out after the first five minutes of reading it, since it'd take a good chunk of the day for him to read her an entire novel. Nyxtsuki Moon lmao he sounds like her parent

Nevada's eyes were already closed, and there was a movement of acknowledgement under the pile.
"Maybe you do like it. Don't worry, I won't judge you handsome~" She coughed, "Yes yes sleep, I will do." She nodded under the blankets even if he couldn't see her.
"But then you gotta sleep too okay?" She patted at some pillows further away from her. "it's a sleepover, you gotta sleep...." A yawn...."too!"Bittiface Otto goes from friend to father figure, Nevada says OKAY DAD D;

Otto sighed. Looks like he had to be Dad today. Oh well. "Yeah yeah.. I'll sleep too." Not beside Nevada, but he'd try to sleep. Try being the key word. The memories of the previous night were much too fresh.
Otto kept to his word, and began reading A Catcher In The Rye to Nevada. When it came to speaking parts, Otto wasn't much of an actor. Character's voices were simply spoken in a matter of fact tone with his usual southern drawl, as if Otto were reading a text book.

"S'long as you promise." She mumbled. And started to drift as he read. There was a point if she wondered that he knew that he had a really thick southern drawl but it was lost to exhaustion.
And she was out. No nightmares, no nothing. Just a quiet restful sleep.

Otto slowed his reading, stopping as it seemed there were too few sniffles and a lack of shifting within the covers. Nevada had fallen asleep.
Otto huffed lightly, shutting his book and letting it sit on the floor near Nevada. Much too lazy to bother putting it back in it's proper place. The teen dragged himself up to his feet, the weight of having not slept for over 24 hours apparent in his sluggish walking.
He fell onto his bed, curling into a ball and dragging a heavy comforter over himself. Sleep.. maybe a nap? Yeah.. just a nap.
It turned into a 14 hour "nap".
