It's the Alliance guy that speaks in green. You wanna know why the Sith is in prison? Or you want information on each of the characters?

The Sith is in prison for being involved, to some degree, an act of genocide-- among other things. For all intents and purposes, he is a prisoner of war. He used to be the Grand Admiral of the Imperial Navy, a rank he accepted after making a quick ascendancy through the Imperial Navy. Cole Barranks is, essentially, the mirror image of Sephis Stryfe-- the Sith being held prisoner. Cole Barranks started out as a lowly Sergeant in the Republic Armed Forces, was given his own command aboard a small cruiser while the Republic tried to recoup its losses after a surprise attack on the Coruscant system, and in light of his impeccable service record (since the Republic, at the time, was lacking in good shipboard officers), he was quickly promoted to Commander.
As 'Commander' he was the highest ranked active-duty officer in the Republic Navy for a while, and he's kind of just sat at the top ever since. More recently, he was asked to take up the position of Minister of War during the reformation of the Republic into the Greater Galactic Alliance, not doing much in the military anymore except pushing papers. He's more of a military advisor to the Chief of State now, although he has had a hand in overseeing certain Alliance Intelligence operations of late. He doesn't run the organization from the top down, but if he were to issue an order to 'Jump' to a person inside of that organization, the proper response from anyone in Alliance Intelligence would be 'How high, sir?' The best real-world comparison for Cole would probably be Colin Powell.
EDIT: Probably important to note that Sephis Stryfe is not a public prisoner. He is not under public scrutiny, and the fact that he is imprisoned at all, by anyone, at this point, is classified information.

I feel the need to point out that colin powell is a man without integrity. but I will try not to get into politics here. sweatdrop thanks for the info, it will help me greatly in introducing Ranika. I'm guessing she is going to be a relatively low-ranking soldier (that is, her cover identity). maybe a rookie? a techie?

Depends on how Imperial Intelligence is organized. I think you might be the first person to RP with us that's really wanted to explore the shady spy type things in Star Wars with us, as opposed to being a Jedi or Sith or trooper or something a tad more generic. Wookieepedia seems to have a plethora of information on the structure of one version of Imperial Intelligence works (what I'm looking at here seems to be how Imperial Intelligence was organized in Palpatine's era). I'd say maybe look through some of the information here, and maybe click on a few of the links that you can see. See what you like, and maybe run your operative's job/position/station by Robayn, since her character is running the Sith Empire, if you have any questions. If you're going after the idea of an undercover agent, a post in Adjustments seems like it might be a nice fit, or maybe you might like the Bureau of Operations better.

I am pretty well-versed in Imperial Intelligence. I'm more concerned about what her cover identity in the Alliance will be.
in any case, I posted Brlllar'Chom's intro already. smile

We have gotten so much rain so fast that the rivers from the mountains are flooding o.o We have one bridge that has been closed that leads to the mines from town which means hundreds of guys aren't working. The ones that were on nightshift had to be evacuated because the road above the bridge was completely washed out. Whole trees are being uprooted from the forest areas and carried down into town but SO FAR the water has only flooded a couple of farms north of town and come over the river bank over the highway which is why it's now closed too. There is one dirt road we can use to get out of town but the same rivers are carrying on south to the next town and the flooding is even worse there and in the rest. It's crazy all over this region and in the next province too. People being evacuated from low ground, the train tracks have been twisted and mangled by debris, trucks being washed away, it's so insane. We have never, ever, seen this kind of flooding in this area. I have crazy pictures~
this one and this one and this one and this one were taken by my passenger yesterday when we went to the pass (a mountain pass/town SE of here) for some errands, which was the beginning of any flooding that either of us were aware of... and we drove through it, of course... like these other people >.> and this one and this one were on the race back before the highway was close because of the HOLE IN THE HIGHWAY.
Now this one is the Zoo in Calgary, which is NE of us (just over the mountain, technically, and if we were to fly there it would take about an hour) and all of the animals have been moved because the city is not safe
and neither is canmore, west of Calgary and closer to us
Banff, west of us, is pretty ******** too and will remain so, officially, for an indeterminate amount of time
so far, we have lost some train tracks, and some other things too, but OUR BRIDGE IS A FIGHTER standing up to trees 20+ feet tall, though the bridge that leads to the mine farthest north is not so fortunate and will possibly be coming down the river sometime tonight or tomorrow as we are expecting more heavy and abundant rain...
as always, this situation will be addressed with goddamn canadian charm. Aaaand some alcohol. And probably more of the latter and less of the former as the night goes on.
Cheers!

I'll wait, Tes.
Yep, the flooding in your area is so bad, CNN is actually reporting on your shitty weather. When I saw your status last night, I was like 'Pffffft! exaggeration'. Nope. Some day anchor was reporting on you guys right after he got done talking about Paula Deen.

Well I have canned food AND chocolate, and the drive yesterday got my cat food, so I'm cool.
Until the power goes out again. Then I'll be marginally upset.
*edit: we do have a gravel road out of town now and I am pretty sure we can get through the highways with single lane traffic smile

We just went to the river again and it has widened out further down so the levels have receded from the highway smile
