Greetings from FEFabulous southern California, motherFEFers!

I just got off the phone with Kurai. Because we're going to hang out next week.

I've never met Kurai, but that's why it's a perfect example of FEF in my life. I just got off the phone with someone I've never met in my life that I'm going to hang out with next week, and we talked like old friends who'd known each other for years.

Because we have. Because of FEF.

Lots of love to Nino and Rath for being my conservative homies. I'd never imagined getting along, much less be friends, with people I disagree with in the way I can disagree with Rath and Nino. And it's no big deal. We can argue (or agree) on things until the cows go home and still be totally cool and that's not a very common phenomenon and I'm very grateful for it. Y'all are awesome.

And it's Nino's vision. So let's all thank her for that.

And Rath is the best crew member ever. Great leader to the rest of the crew who makes sure s**t gets done.

And I was in the process of making this big, long post mentioning names about who all is special to me and why, but then I realized you all know who you are.

I don't even remember how many years I've been with FEF anymore. 5? 6? It's been a good long while now. And a person changes over that much time. Holy s**t, I was still a young one in high school when I still joined, and now I have a degree and I'm much more defined in who I am and it's awesome.

The character of FD has undergone so much development it's crazy to me to look back on (zounds, it's great that we have years to get better at RPing and such). Special shoutouts to Rath and Ephy both for helping make concrete how he looks in humanoid form with 'dat art and spriting.

People come and go (and almost everyone has to go on hiatus for stuff in their lives at some point), but a lot of people stay, and more people like that join over time, and it makes FEF really something like a family.

I am SO over Gaia. But I am so NOT over FEF, I stick around anyway.

I will admit, as a member (and crew) who has been here the longest, never have I expect I will still be active in the guild. Yes, there are times where I will go hiatus in the guild. And yes, there are times I want to leave due to drama llama. But no matter what happens in the guild, both the good, the bad, and the WTF moments, I'm still around in the guild. So what makes me stay active in the guild?

It's because of you, both members and the crew, who make this guild interesting, fun, and joyable. Like Abel said, we are a family. We laugh, we cry, we go headbutt with each other. But we are still able to stick together, no matter how stupid or dramatic the issues are.

So is it fate that we join this guild? Is it our destiny that we will become friends and/or family?

As a certain character from the Fire Emblem game said: ""We're not pawns of some scripted fate. It's the invisible ties we forge that bind us."

It is based by our decisions that we join the guild to have fun and make friends. It is the ties we've made as we get to know each other more than just "a person who likes FE game." And we continue to forge the ties that bind us together.

So to everyone, I like to thank you for making ties with me and for making this guild awesome...

I joined FEF back in... gosh, I think it was 2007? A long time ago, under a different account (Cortesa). I made a lot of friends along the way and developed both as a writer and a person through being a part of this community. I have a lot of fond memories from my time here as member and (former) crew and a lot of the friends that I made here I've come to realize were true and genuine, and I greatly regret being a ball of suck when it comes to keeping those connections alive.

Though it's been a few years since I've been actually around these parts (to the point where I don't recognize a lot of you anymore uh) there's a little part of me that misses those days and you guys a lot and keeps wanting to return.

So here I am, making a sappy as hell post for the occasion. Even though it sucks because I, unlike Alihi, am not an eloquent person. tl;dr I love you guys a ton and FD you need to give me a hug right now kthx my inner Nils requires it. everyone else can hug me too if they wish.

(and if you want to thank someone for me posting at all direct that toward rath for giving me the nudge. thanks rath.)

No kidding... the weirdest part of being back here is that I was still in middle school when I joined FEF. And now I'm going to be entering my third year of college. What is this even.
