"But Hel, it is not always about others." As surprising as that was coming from Mot. "Some people will only grow and learn if they learn certain lessons on their own. You have your own heart to worry about."
Mot saw those pieces, and he would be down there picking them up as soon as he was done shaking Hel.
"Why must you keep these? They are worthless now. Just toss them in a bin."

Woah, Mot, woah. Stop it. Stop, you were not the real Mot. OTHER MOT! Hel wanted to ask this wise Other Mot questions though, so he could stay for now…BUT THIS INFORMATION WAS CONTRADICTING WHAT GRAMPS SAID!
If Hel were to panic, she might start now.
“What am I teaching him by letting him be on his own?” She asked, her arms in the air as Mot shook her still. “Uh…Yanno…I do not know, why I am carrying them still…”

Mot stopped shaking her, since she was not moping much anymore. "You'd be teaching him that your time does not revolve around his whims." He huffed, picking up the stray phone parts. "The more you stick to him despite how he treats you, you simply tell him that he is allowed to use you without any commitment. Do you want only half of his heart? Or all of it?"
Mot gathered all the pieces and tossed them in the nearest trash bin. Bye bye, old phone! "Out with the old, in with the new! Life goes on, and so shall you."

Hel’s arms fell to the side as Mot let her go, and she just stared at the grim, and it was clear that her mind was working really hard right now. Hel’s fingers twitched repeatedly, and her arms slowly rose until she was cupping and clawing at her cheeks and smooshing her own face around. Her eyes went wide and well…the ghoul almost looked like she was on the verge of literally exploding. She wasn’t exactly sure if Mot was right, but in a way, his words seemed to strike a cord, and in some way, they kind of did make sense. Then she couldn’t help but think of what Junko said on Critter. How some boils didn’t like ghouls who threw it out like candy on Halloween.
So Hel was standing there, twitching like a mad woman and rubbing her own hands all over her own face, while Mot was a good Samaritan and cleaned up the pieces of her old phone.
Hel came to a conclusion.
“I AM GOING TO BE ALONE FIVE-EVER!” She wailed.

Mot whirled around, wide eyed and mouth agape. "What!?" He retorted in confusion. "Hel, Mac is just one GUY! You have so much more time!"
Don't make Mot smack a b***h.

“But MOOOOOT!” Hel wailed. “If I can not keep Mac than--FREYA…she is getting married like NOW— Mac gets me when he is not being a RAGING a*****e – You dumped me around a year ago—what if no one ever loves me because——He could be the one--What if he does not care if I leave him alone!?—I mean, Gramps said I can live with him if I am still alone after three years but—I really love him! It is different than before and—I am really hungry too, can we get something to eat after we get the phone?“
Hel’s arms flopped to her side and she just stared at Mot.
That was what happened when too many thoughts tried getting out at once.

Mot's mouth opened and closed like a fish in water for a while. Just how was he supposed to address all of that?
"Um..."
. . .
One thing at a time.
"Freya's relationships are just that. Hers. Do not continue to compare your endeavours with those around you." He started, taking a thoughtful pose as he pondered and mused.
"Mac needs to grow up, Hel. Wait if you must, but know it won'y make you happy. You seek a Love that is bold and certain, yes? Mac won't give you that. So how perfect for you is he really? You need to give him an ultimatum. If you are this set to be wedded and in love right away, and Mac is not, this trail of woe will just continue into eternity. Maybe Mac won't ever be ready. I do not approve of him stringing you along."
Mot sighed, suddenly thirsty. "Yes, after the phone is acquired we shall dine. My treat."

“But it is just not fair, Mot!” Hel cried, balling up her fists. “Freya never wanted marriage! She used to belittle and trash it and rub it in my face every chance she got! She never wanted to settle, and I wanted it and I wanted to settle, and now she has it all! How is that fair…?”
The ghoul fell silent though as she listened to Mot, Jack bless his heart, he was a really great friend now, addressing her all the concerns she spluttered off because she was frustrated. Each and every word though, was like adding a weight to her shoulders, and the more Mot said, the more her shoulders sagged as she stared at the ground. She was thinking about everything he said, but in the end….she didn’t acknowledge any of it…but she heard it.
Instead, Hel’s head snapped back up, and she reached out and grabbed Mot’s hand, before she took off towards the phone store, with the cowboil in tow. “Let us go before I am curled up in pumpkin fetal position!”
That was when, thankfully, Hel bust in through the doors of the store with Mot, and was quickly zeroed in on by a sale’s associate. As the sale’s associate asked what they could be helped with today, Hel just said. “I want a new phone. Like his.” She then pointed and stared at Mot, who she was clearly expecting to take over from here on, even though it was her phone.

"Life is always unfair. And often changes in ways we can not control. You may never gain that control, Hel. Once you accept that, you can focus on how to work with what life gives you. A rotten piece of wood is a rotten piece of wood, no matter how much I carve it, it only falls apart. Accept that it is rotten, and move on, no matter how perfect that wood may have seemed." An analogy was Mot's way of illustrating with words how he felt.
Mot yelped lightly as he was tugged onward, into the store with---PHONES!
Mot was now in geek mode.
There were so many new models, with so many new functions! "I know!" He gasped as Hel looked to him for guidance with the associate, "We shall get new ones together!" And with that, Mot led the entire way through the new phone process.

Not what she wanted to hear, Mot, not what she wanted to hear. That was a pretty kick a** analogy though! Honestly, Hel wasn’t even paying attention to even half the stuff that was being said once they were in the store. She sat at the table with Mot and the sales associate with her head in her hand, looking bored. At times she drooled, at times she may have been picking her nose, and when a question was asked she re-directed it to Mot and would give a ‘ya whatever’ when asked a question that needed an answer. Mot would handle this. She’d reap the benefits of his nerding. Since she more or less destroyed her old phone, and was getting her own plan anyways, she had to get a new number and oh…oh s**t, the few contacts she had…oh…well…she’d have to go ask again. After all that, Hel walked out of the store with her brand spanking new eyePhone in hand, staring at it as if it was the red-headed step child of JOY. Luckily, too, she had made sure to get the best case out for it. Death proof. “…Well…” She started, “I look at the bright side…since this was so ******** expensive, that will hopefully be a good incentive to actually keep track of it and take care of it.”

"I should hope so! And besides, you can do so much more with this phone! Search Groogle, check Critter and Groanspring from anywhere, ask Scari for directions---" Mot sighed dreamily, holding his phone to his slightly more defined chest he'd so desperately worked to buff up (to minimal success) over the last few months. "Here~"Mot gestured to borrow her phone, eagerly putting his number in it. He handed back with a grin. "Since you were a good ghoul and spent good money on a good phone, where would you like to eat?"

Hel sighed. She still wasn’t very convinced that having all these things on the phone was a good thing…but since she had no plans to buy a computer or laptop at all…this was probably a good thing. She glanced at the boil out of the corner of her eyes, and sighed again before she handed off her phone to him. Taking it back, she looked down at it and made it a face. “….How did you do that? What is this screen?” Oh yes…there started all the questions. “…I feel like a dog right now.” She then stuck her tongue out at him. “Pandora!” She cried. “That little bistro place, you know what I am talking about, ya?”

"No worries, Hel. I'll show you how while we wait for our dinner." Mot assured her, waving a hand dismissivly. Teaching Hel technology would likely be a frustrating process for them both.
"Um, I think so?" He'd been to plenty of cafes, he was sure he'd been to this bistro once or twice. Though food was never what he was after. They were in town anyway, so the walk was likely short.
Time quickly passed, and they were soon seated. Mot seemed to be hunched over a small notebook, sketching out a 'map' of Hel's phone screen. Oh yes. he was going to make her a "Idiot Hel Proof" manual.

Hel looked dubious and doubtful about this assurance. Well…because she knew herself. Regardless she followed along with Mot, and slid into the seat across the reaper once they reached the place. She didn’t even bother looking at the menu because she knew what she wanted, and instead leaned across the table to see what the cowboil was doing.
“…What are you doing? What does that have to do with the phone?” She looked back at said phone and squinted. The reaper pushed the home button and stared at the bottom. Slide to unlock…
Hel slid her phone across the table, and then checked it.
…
“MOT!” She cried. “I slid it and it did not unlock! It is broken, we need to take it back.”

Something equal to a brain aneurism was the sort of pain Mot felt in his head as Hel displayed a level of stupidity and simplicity normally found in small scarelings.
"Hel... did you not see the slider in the screen itself?" He showed exactly how to do this one thing on his own phone for Hel to see. "Slide... the slider... with your finger. Phone unlocked.."
